My Pillow Boxes....

.....are featured on the Pink Petticoat blog as some of Liz's favourites from her recent competition  :) See my Pink Petticoat post

Wow!

Secret Santa

Just look at my fabby prezzie I received from my Secret Santa.....such a clever Santa :) It is filled with ribbons, buttons, brads, gems, little bows and hand made Belgian choccies :)

Thank you so much Santa.....it is fab! The good thing about organizing the Secret Santa is that I know which clever lady made this and can say 'thank you' properly.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Dad

I hope you have all had a good Christmas and Santa was kind to you. I was spoilt as usual but my only crafty prezzie, apart from my Secret Santa which I will photograph tomorrow and add to my blog, was a Fiskar's trimmer.

Today has been my dad's birthday and we all gathered at their house as we usually do on Boxing Day. Mum puts on a huge buffet (then we all end up taking stuff home :)) We took the chocolate fountain over this year and my neice's little boy who is 4 (it doesn't make me sound as old as if I put Great Nephew lol) thought it was wonderful and just stood licking chocolate of his 'stick'.....we couldn't persuade him to have anything to dip!

I had to get up early this morning to make dad's birthday cards as I just ran out of time in the run up to Christmas! So here are they.....

The photo is of my dad at 6 months and the ribbon is Flower of Scotland tartan. The card is from my stash.

This one was so quick and simple but I like it. The wording on the front was printed in word. I added the brads and mounted the panel onto blue paper and silver mirror card.....and that was that :)

I made mum a necklace and bracelet set for her birthday last year but didn't make her earrings to go with it (I thought I had) and she mentioned yesterday that she wasn't sure which ones went with it so I sat last night while I was watching Strictly and made these.........but that wasn't before I knocked my tidy tray off the side...and it just so happened to be full of gold seed beads!!

I forgot to pick them up this morning so they were still on my desk when we got back!

Have a wonderful 'rest of holiday'.
Take care

Quick update

Well a lot has happened in my absence mostly due to the fact that I had a very poorly lap top (the most I could get from it was a white screen!!) and my workload has increased by about a million percent (well ok I suppose that's a bit of an exaggeration ;)) I've had a heck of a lot short notice orders which have kept me firmly on my bum but I'm not complaining lol.

Christmas is also a bit of a sad time again in Scruff's Corner. My uncle (Mum's brother)  was 80 yesterday and as I was sat on Monday making his birthday card when my mum rang me to tell me that his wife had died during the night. So we end this year as we started it.....with a funeral. We lost a Great Auntie before last Christmas and her funeral was on 3rd January. Auntie Doreen's is next Thursday :(

Now for a bit of good news.......I am one of nine runners up in the Papercraft Essentials Papercrafter of the Year......erm, I'm just a little more than thrilled :)

This is one of my cards from the comp

Materials: papers - My Mind's Eye, image - The Greeting Farm (digi), flowers - Prima, MS punch, silver mirror card, die cuts,
gems and ribbon from my stash

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas whatever you are doing.

Take care xx
