Penny Black...

@ Allsorts have set the challenge for this month as

Punch away
With such fabulous punches available now, it's the perfect chance to get them working. It can be as simple as a single punched element or go really wild, all we ask is that we can see some punching on your work.

(and yes, I am very late but I have made my second C******** card!)  I also used the sketch from Sketch Saturday

Papers are downloads from Lili of the Valley
the image is by Penny Black coloured with Promarkers
Punched border using a MS punch
Snowflakes are glitter card from stock using a Marianne Design die set
Flower Soft
Ribbon and brads from stock

More Wedding Cards

More wedding cards for DH and I'm back to using stuff from stock instead of new....I really need to make a

conscious effort to use things up if only to free up some drawer space for other stuff :)

Images are all from Pink Petticoat and I've used assorted papers, ribbon, glitter and Glossy Accents.

I thought I had scheduled this post and the last one but when I went to write today's post I realised that I had saved them as draft for some silly reason!  What a numpty lol

Thanks for looking.

Inspirational?

.....you bet! Each week Dawn brings us a really great sketch for us to work our magic on and as I have some fabulous team mates (from all over the globe!) there is really good range of inspiration. This week is no exception, take a hop round their blogs and see what you think, links to their blogs are on my side bar.

The image (from Hambo stamps ) is coloured with Promarkers, the striped paper is from Pink Petticoat but not sure about the other one, ric rac and charm from my stock.

We would love it if you could come and play with us and let us take a look at your work.

Thanks for looking and also for the lovely comments you leave.

Wedding jewellery

I had some wedding jewellery ordered from the wedding fayre last Sunday and this is the sample I made to show the bride.

If she likes it I have two of them to make. It's made using 5mm Swarovski AB crystals and gold bugle beads and it is really sparkly! I love working with these crystals.

I also had a tiara ordered (from the lady who ordered the never ending card below) and this is what evolved from her description :)

Again, the picture doesn't pick it up but it is really sparkly as I've used 4mm AB crystals and pearls, both by Swarovski.

And last but not least, I made DH a card to take to work with him last weekend and have another three to make for this weekend. It's a good job I enjoy my work lol

My usual Pink Petticoat downloads, gems and ribbon.

I'm off to start cutting place cards now so make be back later.

Never ending card

I had my first commission for one of these last week as a wedding card. I've wanted to make one for ages and had messed about with pieces of paper till I got it up to an 8 x 8" card size and this is the result!

I really wish I could take straight photos :)

I used: Woodware stamps, Promarkers, Lily stamp (but I don't know who it's by), Martha Stewart corner punch and the assorted die cuts, charms, ribbons are from my stock.

The same lady also ordered some signs for her shoe shop so as well as making refund and opening hours signs I made these

Aren't they cute?!

Thanks for looking :)

Competition cards

I've made a few cards over the last couple of weeks which haven't been shown yet. The first of the bunch is a birthday card for a lovely blogging buddy who celebrates her birthday today....

All papers and image are from Pink Petticoat, gems, ribbon etc is from my stash.

I made the next cards to enter into the Papercrafter of The Year in Card Making and Papercraft magazine but a couple of things happened over the last week or so and I bottled out of sending them :( Hopefully my confidence might put in another appearance soon!

This card was made for the Pink Petticoat section of the comp....I do have other papers, honest :)

Image coloured with Promarkers.

The next card was made for the Sizzix section but was really difficult to photograph as it is so reflective! It does look better IRL.
The alphabet used was Wingo Zingo. I've had it for a long time now and it is still one of my faves, I just don't use die cut alphas much now.

This card is made with one of my new Lili of the Valley stamps. I bought my first two a couple of weeks ago but they could become a new addiction lol
That bear is just so cute! The papers were downloaded from LOTV too. The poinsettias were cut using my new Marianne dies.

I made my 1000th post last night so I thought I would offer some blog candy. As soon as I sort out some goodies I shall write it up and leave at the top till the end of the month. I hope you will join in :)

Thanks for looking. x

ICS #83

I am so late with this card today that I will be getting a slap from my lovely team mates on the ICS blog

Papers are all by Stampin Up, sentiment strip is by Pink Petticoat and the image was coloured with Promarkers.

We have a brand new sponsor this week, Taylor, Creator and owner of InStyle Stamps.
Taylor is given the winner of this challenge 4 Free Digi Images of their choice.
We would all love it if you could join in with our challenge and look forward to seeing your creations. Thanks for dropping by.

Happy Birthday to you

I can't believe it's almost a week since I last blogged, I'm sure the time thief has struck again. So what's been happening? Welllll.........
I seem to have lost the ability to spell lol (I've written two lines so far and corrected three spelling mistakes).

I have been delivered a fair sized blow on a professional level which in turn has knocked my confidence, but I hope it is something I can put right.

A friend celebrated her 40th birthday on Saturday which needed a special card and prezzie, DH celebrated his birthday on Sunday so we all went out out for a lovely lunch and today my baby girl is 17! I don't know about losing a week, I'm struggling to find where the last 17 years disappeared to!

Tracy's card

All papers and image are from Pink Petticoat, image was coloured with Promarkers and everything else was from my stash.

I made DH's birthday card for one of my challenges on Rosie Dee's challenge blog before we went on holiday and it can be seen here I will add his cards from the kids tomorrow as I haven't photographed them yet.

DD2's birthday card
Another Pink Petticoat card with the addition of ribbons and a candle from my stash and Doodlebug rub ons.

Wedding cards
Made for the two couples who got married last weekend who I made stationery for.
Bet you can't guess what the colour schemes where he he!
This next card was a quickie for DH to take to work with him last Friday.
PP again!

Happy Birthday Katie, love you millions! xx

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

....has a great sketch this month and I've used it this time for the opening page of a bespoke album I'm making. I think it works really well!

Pink Petticoat papers are left over from the easel card I made (see below), the lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the charm is from my stash.

And finally, two more thank you cards for a couple who got married in July
and a sympathy card for DH to send to a friend of his mum's who lost her husband last week.

Thanks again for looking and for all your lovely comments, they really do mean a lot to me. :)

Seating plans

The week started brilliantly on Monday morning as I booked two local wedding fayres for October. I will do one and my mum and dad are going to do the other one for me.....it keeps them out of mischief and gives them something to do lol I'm tearing ahead with orders which have been collected so I'm dead chuffed with myself.

I've got two weddings at the same venue this weekend so have finished all the stationery. I really love my work and have met some of the nicest people ever. I've not had one bridezilla, they have all been gems. I did, however, have the most obnoxious, arrogant groom I have ever come across about 18 months ago! He was really horrid and his girlfriend was lovely and very embarrassed......the good news on that one is that I've never seen them since as they are not local. I couldn't figure out why on earth she was marrying him lol

Anyway, I digress, back to the seating plans etc

I really must think about getting a tripod for my camera. I have a back problem and lean slightly to the left so consequently I tend to take slightly wonky photos! Generally I can retake them once I've had a look but this one was actually collected before I had a look at the pics.

Right, this time I really am going to make tea, byeee :)

2 little boys had

.......2 little toys, (well actually they are easel cards) lol One of them has been commissioned and the other is for friends of ours who became grandparents for the second time last month.

Papers - Nancy Watt
Image - Going Fishing by Rachelle Anne Miller
Promarkers
Button, ribbons and brad from stash.
Papers and congrats ribbon - Pink Petticoat
Image as above
Everything else from stash

Back in a while with more work but for now my tum is telling me it's dinner time and if you saw it, it's not to argue with :)) !

Take care.

A quick make

We ran out of coffee the day before we came home from Zakynthos so bought a small tin from the local supermarket. I brought the tin home with me (cos it still had coffee in it :)) and decided to use it for my coloured pencils which DH bought me over there :) so we went from this

to this....
Pink Petticoat paper, X Cut butterfly and ribbon from stash.....simples lol

Thanks for looking.

PS Don't forget to take a look at Kathy's Sketch file. We would love it if you could join our little band of happy crafters and show us what you come up with. If you want to try any of the other sketches the links to them all are on the side bar and they go back as far as 2008 (and there are some corkers amongst them :))

Wedding card

Another wedding card for DH to take to work with him but this time the wedding was a colleague of his and out came the Pink Petticoat paper and images again :) (I would be quite lost without them!)

These images are great because they don't need to be coloured if you don't want to. Sometimes I glitter them or use a clear Sakura pen on them but not always. The flowers was punched from the three different papers and curled slightly with my bone folder and I added the large Doodlebug gem to the centre. The ribbon is pure white with a wired silver edge and it's really pretty. I've had it for ages and not used it as I thought it was too wide, however, now I've used it I really like it so might add a couple of big bows to other projects.

Thanks for looking. x

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

As it's the first of September there is a wonderful new sketch on Kathy's Sketch File

It's a really versatile sketch to use. We have all made cards with it to start with but I'm sure there will be more projects from us throughout the month, I know I have something in mind which isn't a card *faint!* but meanwhile.....here is the card I made from the sketch :)

All of the papers, the sentiment and the image were free in this month's Making Cards magazine. The lace is from my stash and there are tiny gems on the flowers across the bottom paper but the camera doesn't appear to have picked them up and the card has been sent so I can't rephotograph it!

Both of my team mates, Kathy and Bev have designed gorgeous cards. Bev has used a really beautiful colour scheme and Kathy's flowers are just to die for (you can almost smell them :))

If you have any spare time we would love you to have a go with the sketch and let us have a look at your work.

Take care and thanks for looking
