Congratulations

I've just made a quick card for hubby to take to work this evening (he is DJing at a wedding) so as I hadn't already done so, I used Di Hickman's Card Sketch March 2 and make it for the new challenge on Secret Crafter blog which is set by our lovely MANDY. This week she has chosen a theme of: - HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT!
As usual any project but cake must be somewhere on your project!
I think my cake is quite visible :)) I really like this super cutesy little wedding cake but as with loads of other stamps, it doesn't see ink nearly enough! I used K & Co papers throughout and the ribbon is from one of the Ribbon Oasis kits.

One more...

....and an award.

I love this image and use it quite a bit. The stamp is by Stamps Away from Clever Cut and I'm not sure what the paper is as it was from my vast 'left overs' box.

My award was from my mate Andrea......thanks very much!

Sketch Saturday

#41set by Ria.........I'm a week behind on this one but will catch up later :)
Papers are by K & Co, image and sentiment are by Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do and the rest is from my stash.

Papertake Weekly

Another of Dawny's fab sketches this week on the PTW blog and I thought it might fit with Rosie-Dee's challenge If Spring is on it's way, then it must be getting near to Mothers' day, so with that in mind, I'd like you to show us something to celebrate a special lady in your life. This doesn't have to be a mum as I know there are far too many out there that miss that most special lady in their lives (My DH included). As long as the card is for a lady - friend, daughter, sister, then your creation will qualify.

The cards I'm making at the moment are to send to Kirsty Wiseman for the troops so I'm sure one of them will find a special lady (or fella) to send this one to.
Paper is K & Co, the main image is from Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do This image is actually printed backwards LOL I forgot to change the settings on my printer as I had been printing in mirror image!! However, the only image I can't use is the text one as it reads 'Love You' backwards!!! The sentiment this time is part of a download from Pink Petticoat.....I thought it went quite well with the little owl :)

Ready, Steady, Cook

The DCM Dare this week was set by Kathy

So, what's this week's dare all about? Here in the UK there's a TV programme that's been going for years. A couple of viewers are invited to bring a bag of cookery ingredients to the studio and two top chefs have to make a meal using the contents of those bags - they don't know what will be in the bags beforehand. So this dare is my take on that theme - I'll tell you the ingredients you have to use, then all you have to do is make the card.

Here are your ingredients:
3 different papers
At least one piece of chipboard
At least 1 button
At least 1 piece of ribbon
optional: 1 extra item/element of your choice

That's about it, all you need to do now is sort out your bits of stash and make up your card - you're allowed to use whatever paints, pens and inks you like, but otherwise you must stick to the ingredients in the list.

I combined my card with the Stamp Something as the main part of my card - the flower - is green!

This week we are thinking GREEN! Spring is right around the corner as is St. Patty's day, so what better challenge than Green Somethings! All you need to do is use the color green as the main part of your project. So it could be different shades of green papers, ribbons, or flowers. You could use greens to color your image, anything with the color green is good for this challenge.

I also used the sketch from the Inspirational Card Sketches blog (not bad eh?)

Phew..........that took some remembering!

Challenge #7

BIG BIRTHDAY BASH CHALLENGE WEEK END – CHALLENGE SEVEN today I am lucky enough to have a GLAMOROUS ASSISTANT JACKIE AKA JAKE well maybe assistant is NOT actually correct at all cos Jackie has done the whole challenge and fab it is too Jackie wants YOU to make A FRAME BIRTHDAY CARD and she has been EXTRA helpful and produced step by step instructions so NO EXCUSES and the catch......of course there is a LITTLE catch it is so we need a RED NOSE somewhere on your card and it MUST be a BIRTHDAY CARD

He he....how cool is that, my first ever real live challenge and here is my card
This is a different one to the one I actually made in the step by step, the other one was a lighter red but it obviously still goes with the Red Nose part of the challenge! The checked paper at the back is by My Minds Eye and the clown image is a stamp by Sally-Ann from when she sold stamps on ebay. I wanted to put one on either side of my aperture so I stamped one of the clowns then photocopied it and reversed the image before I printed it. I'm quite pleased with the way the card turned out :) I love the 3d effect of these cards but also like the way they flatten to go into an envelope.

CBC3

Challenge two on Carolyn's forum was a question to be answered so I'm not adding that one, just straight onto Challenge 3 I need BIRTHDAY - GIFT TAGS - I CAN LIVE WITH ONE BUT TWO WOULD BE GREAT A SET WOULD BE FAB

So here we are, a set of two ;) All bits apart from the flowers were left over from other projects. The flowers are Prima and the birthday cake is one of Kirsty Wiseman's freebie set of papers.

And we're off!

It's a Big Birthday Bash on Crafts by Carolyn as the forum was 7 years old yesterday. Sue has organised some fab challenges and I've tied the first one in with the challenge for Colour Create So, the CBC challenge is I need a BIRTHDAY CARD with 7 items the same on there – happy for them to vary in colour BUT the item MUST be the same
and Colour Create is (the bonus this week was something other than a card but unfortunately I don't have time to produce anything but cards at the mo. I have an idea though which might materialise tomorrow evening!)

So the seven things on my card are PEARLS.....six in the Primas and one in the top most flower on the birdhouse. The image is from Pink Petticoat and I coloured it with Promarkers.

IC5

Slightly behind with this one! I've just been to the Inspirational blog and they are now on sketch 7.......more catching up to do now :)
Papers are very old K & Co, ribbon is grosgrain from Ribbon Oasis flowers are Prima and the gems are from my box.

The final two weren't made to challenges but I shall add them anyway :)
Pretty in Pink! I used my new Stampin Up roller for the first time to make this card and I am totally hooked. I can see most of my cards ending up with swirls on them :) I now need to get some more ink cartridges (I only have black and pink!) and some more wheels. The tiddly piece of DP is by My Minds Eye and the flutterby and flowers were freebies, again from the cover of a mag.

And last but not least.....

Image is by Penny Black, the pink card was from my scrap box and the flower is Prima.

Off to make some more now, see you soon!

PS I haven't forgotten about the blog candy.......I will sort it asap.

KB sketch file

I think I am almost up to date with Kathy's Sketch File I still have the most recent one to do but will do that one this afternoon in my next batch of cards.

For some reason I decided to reverse the sketch, not sure why, I probably just got it wrong! LOL The paper on this card is Under The Boardwalk by Daisy Bucket and I just love it. The VW stamp was from Blade Rubber a long time ago and I keep forgetting I've got it. Everything else was from my stash.

Page Plans

The sketch this week is from Chris Have a look if you have a minute, there is some amazing work over there.
Cupcake and paper are from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment sticker is again a freebie from the same set as before. the large flowers were cut using a Carl punch but I don't know what make the smaller flowers are, they came from ebay. The gems were from my stash.

2 Sketches and bonus

I'm working on a load of charity cards at the moment whilst I'm waiting for a card order to be delivered and yesterday I made seven as a very small contribution to the Marie Curie Cancer Card appeal. I managed to tie in a couple of challenges with the cards but felt quite limited as the cards have to be C6 and I don't make this size very often.

My first card is for Laura's sketch #21

I don't know where the blue paper came from (I think my mum bought it!) and there are a couple of pieces still left in my 'left overs' box.but the dots, 'ribbon' and image are all free sticker from the cover of the new Docrafts magazine!

The bonus is a sketch from Dawn

The image is from Pink Petticoat (and represents the circle on the sketch) coloured with Promarkers and the papers are Auntie Gertie's Garden and Hello Ladies by Kate Teague. I think I must have bought them ages ago in a kit!

...........and a lovely day it's been too. I got some new crocs and an A3 cutting mat off DH (and my trip to New York next week ;)), a craft tote off the kids, some fabby pressies of a very special friend, another good friend owns a hair and nail boutique and she did my hair for me this afternoon as my pressie and I got some lovely dosh which I am going to change into dollars to take to NY next week :) Have I mentioned we go to New York in 10 days? LOL We have also been for an 'All you can eat' Chinese buffet this evening and I am totally stuffed!!

Happy birthday also to Purplepenguin (my forum twinnie), Prince Edward and Sharon Stone.......you can see Ms Stone and I are twins just by looking at us although we're not quite identical, slightly different shaped. LOL

Materials used are as follows
green card from Crate and Bazzill Bling
Floral glitter card and stamp from Debbi Moore
Lace and gingham ribbon from stash

DewDrop Craftz

........are getting a whole new look, not only the web site but a challenge blog too! The DewDrop Craftz web site had major server issues so Nikki has taken the bull by the horns and used the opportunity to redesign the web site completely and I have to say, it's looking good! It is a mammoth task but she is hoping to have the shop and blog up and running tomorrow so please do drop by and give her your support.

I am honoured to say that I set the first challenge for DewDrop mark 2 and decided to use one of my sketches. Now before we go any further I must say that Van Gogh I aint!! my card actually gives you a better idea of the sketch than the sketch does LOL and I can't wait to see what the rest of the girls do with it!

I really must redraw and scan that sketch and 'unwonk' it LOL The image is one from the DewDrop web site (and is one of several very cute little animal stamps) coloured with ProMarkers, the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis of cours (I can't remember the last time I bought ribbon from anywhere else) and the fabby papers and sentiment are the latest creation by...........KIRSTY WISEMAN from her new cd Patti Picklicious. Go and take a look for yourself, they are just stunning!

Thanks for looking, take care.

Nunu toolies

I visited Kazan's blog for the first time the other night and she has some wonderful work on there. She also had the following sketch which had been used in a Norwegian scrapbooking magazine so I decided to have a quick play with it.
Papers are My Mind's Eye (I love their papers) and K and Co
Image is a Smirk 3d (with added eyes!)
Flowers from ebay
Stickles
PC generated sentiment

I have a wedding fayre tomorrow so may not get any cards done as I really need to revamp my sample seating plans as they are definitely looking 'well thumbed'. I don't have much preparation to do for this one as it's ony two weeks since my last one, I just really need to put together a couple of new samples, sort my scruffy seating plans and get some paperwork printed then go through all my stuff and make sure I have everything I need.

So now the 'list' looks like this

DH's brother's birthday
70 Thank you cards
Wedding stationery samples
Got my new Debbi Moore design kit this morning so need to get them done too in progress
Seating plan
New wedding order
75 orders of service
75 place cards
Cards for April birthdays
Fill up my general card stocks

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for looking :)

Sending you....

..........happy thoughts on this overcast Saturday morning!! We have been promised sunshine so we shall just wait and see :)
I've used another of Kathy's sketches for this card and have just about finished with Mother's day cards (I think :))
I think I may have cheated a little with the scallops as my card was pre cut like that!

Dark pink paper is Junkitz (the reverse of Fireworks)
Rub on is MSE
Flowers are Prima and Papermania
Everything else from bit box and stash

Kathy's sketch

I don't know how I missed this one, it has been in my 'to do' folder for ages ;) I'm still making Mother's day cards for the shops so these sketches, challenges etc are coming in very handy. I thought I'd made enough Mother's day cards but I was very obviously mistaken.......Clinton cards had better watch out LOLThe image is a free sticker from the front of a mag, I've used Bazzill card, dotty Doodlebug paper and I'm not sure what the blue and yellow paper is and the rest is from my stash.

Page Plans ..........

Chris came up with this lovely sketch this week and I combined it with a challenge on Crafts By Carolyn which is to make a card for a child and the Secret Crafter challenge this week is to make a crad featuring a mode of transport..

Papers are K & Co, carriage stamp is a Snag Em stamp by Imaginisce, page frill is Doodlebug as is the pink paper punched with the Martha Stewart border punch, the flowers are Prima and the sentiment was generated on the pc.

Stamp Something

Favourite Somethings Challenge
For this week we are challenging you to create a projects inspired by your favorite something. It can be a project based on your favorite movie, song, or activity. Or use your favorite stamp, papers, or embellies to create something wonderful! What's your favorite something???
and the sketch is from the Inspirational Card Sketches blog

My 'favourite something' is yellow, my favourite colour. It's not a colour I wear very often but my favourite flowers are daffs and I love the sun :) Also, my house is decorated in various shades of yellow and cream, it's such a cheerful colour.

Paper is K & Co, image and sentiment are by Pink Cat Studio, yellow felt ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the gems are from my stash.

Daring Card Makers.............

Right, on to this week's dare, and its a 'patchy' one.Yes, that's right - I want you to be inspired by patchwork and make a patchwork looking card. Great chance to use up scraps of off cuts - or buy some new papers if needs be! Any theme as long as it is patchwork inspired

As well as my patchwork squares I've used a patchwork ribbon. The image is a Snag Em stamp from Imaginisce (I love these little stamps :)) coloured with Promarkers.
