Kanban Thursday

I am so enjoying playing with my Kanban kits (although I have had a little distraction this week, see tomorrow's post;))

So, in keeping with the Jubilee weekend. Wasn't it just fabulous and the Queen looked absolutely stunning throughout. And Gary Barlow must be a very, very proud man (apart from his duet with Cheryl Cole where she was flat for most of the song! Not good Chezza!!)

WOYWW #157

Am I the only one who thought it was Monday, hence the late post? :)) I have a different sort of work desk to show this time and it smells lovely :)

Do you fancy a snoop around the world's work desk and seeing what craftiness is going on? Visit the blog of the boss and founder, Julia's Stamping Ground and you might become a little wiser :)

Take care.

Finished

I have now finished all my samples for this week. I sort of got carried away with this wonderful new cd, Wishes and Kisses and have had to rein myself in. I made seven projects for Anice but have a fair few papers and images printed off too so there will be more makes to come :)

Papers are from the 'You've Retired' section of the cd and the image is printed from the cd too. The knitting is done by my fair hands with wool from my knitting bag and there we have a really quick card.

Thanks for looking and I hope you are having a fabulous long bank holiday.

Sunday

No card today as I've been very lazy so far and haven't made one. I have spent all day in front of the TV watch the Royal Pageant and later on, The Apprentice final! I don't watch a great deal of tv and it never ever goes on during the day unless my daughter is watching some of her teenage 'drive' on one of her days off. The upshot of that is that I have knitted the back of a cardigan to send to the Kids Company (along with the rest of it of course!) but I do have a couple of photos to share.
The first one is from my birthday in March. Hubby took us, including my parents, to a local hotel for lunch and my daughter was working there. She came out of the kitchen with this which was done by one of the chefs

Thanks Dai :))

The other is my beautiful Azalea which sits underneath my craft studio window. It was bought for me from one of the teachers I worked with about 8 years ago when I was a TA. I though my son had killed it one year while we were on holiday but he obviously hadn't.
see you tomorrow xx

Wishes & Kisses

It's here at last and absolutely fabulous!

www.funkyhand.com (There is also a link on my side bar and if you go to the FH web site via that button I will get a Brownie point :)) Also, all of the Papercraft Factory cds have been reduced by £1.00

I will be adding a couple of projects using the new cd tomorrow.

This post will (hopefully, could someone please tell me how to do this as I can't figure it out with the new Blogger!) stay at the top so please scroll down for more of my work please.

Thanks for looking

Wedding card

Just a quickie today as I am up to my eyes in it. I did, however remember at the last minute that hubby needed a wedding card for the wedding this evening and as I'm still working on my Create and Craft samples for the new Funky Hand cd..Wishes & Kisses so what better thing to use as I have sheets of printed paper in front of me :)

Papers are from the You're Retired section of the cd, the image is a digi images to which I added the sentiment in the Workdesk section of the cd and the flower is made from the Hey Baby Girl and template section, all in all a good sample me thinks as I've used most of the available sections.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting.

Funky Friday

As I mentioned in the post above (you're not seeing things, I managed to change the date so it stayed at the top!) The design team received our Wishes and Kisses cd during last week and it is fabulous. Anice has got some really gorgeous papers into the collections. I use my other Funky Hand cds quite a bit and this one will definitely get used too :)

I'm still working on my samples for the Create and Craft show on 15th June but got a request earlier this week for 7 sympathy cards so I decided to use the new cd for this one. You will all appreciate just how difficult it is to make 7 cards of the same subject for any one person, especially when they are all being sent to the same person!

I used a digi stamp and sentiment from the cd and one of the papers from the In Sympathy section. A piece of black card and black ribbon and I had a card in minutes!

The cd is set out in categories we all use whilst making cards.....baby boy, girl and neutral congratulations, thanks, you're engaged, wedding, new home, new job, get well soon, you've retired, anniversary and sympathy. There are also images, word books and sentiments, in fact there are over 17000 elements on the cd plus thousands more combinations to be used. As always with Anice's cds they are really versatile and she gives us the most amazing papers to choose from.

The cd is available now and can be purchased from Funky Hand and at £15.99 with FREE p & p it's a steal :)

There is also still time to join in with the Get Funky! challenge which this month is Spots & Flowers and is being hosted by Ruth. It will give you a chance to use your new cd ;)

Happy crafting.

Kanban Thursday

I know I've said it before but the quality of goods from Kanban is fantastic and a joy to work with. Everything I've come across so far, from the card/toppers to the self adhesive gems to the foam pads are just such good quality, they are definitely worth investing in :) (and I have to add, I haven't been asked/told to say any of the above, it just knocks my socks off every time I receive a parcel!!!)

So onto this week's cards. I received a parcel earlier this week with the new Rule Britannia sheets in it and they are great with an element of fun!

More catching up

......and a yummy sneaky peak!!

I got some new Kanban goodies last week so have been making samples with those and have also made the most of the weather this week as I missed it all last year with being at the shop 24/7 (or at least that's what it felt like!) My garden was seriously neglected last year as I seem to be the only one who can weed it so consequently it has taken me three days to weed the back. On Sunday I went outside at about 9.30 and it was 8.35 when I finally went in. (We had a bbq so I didn't even have to go in to cook dinner). It is now done and planted with bedding plants so I can relax a bit. I have also enjoyed working outside in the sunshine and am developing quite a tan so I won't look too pasty when we go to Cornwall next month :)

I had a wedding order collected today, I made two wedding cards yesterday and decorated an album and keepsake box and now have an order for 5 sympathy cards :( This week is going to be a real mixed bag of work.

I've had this Stampendous stamp for years now and it's still one of my favourite wedding stamps. I've just kept it really simple and added tiny diamantes down the back of the dress and to the centre of the flowers in the bouquet.
This stamp is also one of my favourites. A gorgeous image called 'I Do' from Lili of the Valley. I've just coloured the image lightly with Promarkers as I wanted to give you a taste of things to come from Funky Hand

The paper is taken from the latest Papercraft Factory cds and is called Wishes and Kisses. It will be released on Thursday and Anice will be demoing on Create and Craft later this month, I think it's the 15th but I will check and let you know for definite. It is an absolutely amazing cd with approximately 17529 elements on it. The paper collections are gorgeous, there are new digi stamps, alphabets and for the first time Anice has included lower case letters in with the word books. I'm probably biased so you'll just have to buy it for yourself and see how megatastic it really is lol

I must go and get these cards made now.

Thanks for looking.

Wednesday? I'm very late with this post today, I meant to prepare it yesterday but forgot about it and this is the first chance I've had to upload it.

So here is my desk for this week

I actually took the photo yesterday which I'm pleased I did as it is more cloudy at times today.

Monday's child

...is fair of face. I'm not actually sure what relevance that has to my post but I couldn't think of another title with Monday in it :))

So what have you been up to this miserable manky weekend? I haven't done anything apart from work work work, but I don't seem to have achieved very much. I did my DT work for Kanban this week and got that emailed over and I made a couple of wedding invitation samples and apart from cooking a Sunday dinner (miracle because I don't very often!!) and having my mum and dad over for an hour, that was about it. I've had such grand plans for this week but none of it is turning out as I planned lol

Anyway, I can now show you the invitations which were picked up last Friday.

They are the most beautiful black brocade and the butterflies are cut from glittered vellum and are really dainty. The bride was really pleased with them.

Right, I'm off now to do my Get Funky! post ready for tomorrow so I will see you then.

Take care and thanks for looking.

Keepsake Box

I don't do many personalised keepsake boxes as a lot of my couples have a Post Box they use this after the wedding to keep their treasured memories in. However, I have done a couple for different weddings for the lady who ordered this one, she was one of my brides five years ago.

Baby pink and white always looks really fresh and seems to be a shade of pink which grooms and their party don't mind wearing!

Thanks for looking. If you like my work would you please like my Party Nights Creations page on Facebook. The link is on my sidebar.
Thank you.

Fluffy Bits

The pink fascinator was collected on Friday by a rather happy client. All she wanted was a few fluffy feathers in chocolate brown adding to the sides of the hair piece along with a couple of crystals.

This is what it looked like before

and this is what it looks like now!

So not a great deal of change, just enough to tie it into my client's out fit.

I also finished the jewellery (making earrings from a bracelet) and they looked good too!
All in all a very happy customer and a very happy me :) It makes a lovely change to do something like this once in a while.

TFL.

Funky Friday

I might just try to remember to schedule a few blog posts for the coming week as we have been promised warm sunshine around Wednesday and my idea is to get on top of everything on my to do list (including the dreaded h*******k) and sit in the garden and make jewellery! So do I believe the weathermen (and women) or not?

Anyway, my Funky Friday project this week is a Wordbook from Funky Hand There are Wordbooks on the Papercraft Factory cds as well as "stand alone" wordbooks available from the web site as downloads. I chose to use papers and elements from Surprise from the Happy Happy Birthday cd

I will be back on Tuesday of this week with more from Funky Hand as it is my turn to upload my Get Funky! challenge project.
Take care and thanks for looking.

Kanban Thursday

These Thursdays are certainly rolling round at great speed now aren't they? I was going to state that ridiculous comment, that I'm sure I've made before, 'it will soon be Chr*****s' but then I realised that I have two holidays to look forward to between now and then, so I won't bother. It probably doesn't help that I'm writing this on Sunday so it isn't so long since Thursday after all!!  :)

I'll just post the cards now and shut up lol.

Easel card
White 5 x 5 card blank
PCT194 Posies & Present – Topper and sentiment
CRD1517 Roses & Calligraphy – Background card
Silver mirri card
GEM 5mm
White organza ribbon
Butterfly Card
A4 cream card
PCT1918 Butterfly Regency black topper with the surround
PCT1926 Baroque Cameo birthday sentiment and border
Gold mirri card
DPS 5mm gold gems
GEM 3mm gold
5 mm sparkly ribbon!

I really like the second card even though I haven't done a great deal with it. In my opinion it didn't need much, I cut the whole topper, including the bit it's mounted on (good technical term lol), popped the topper out and just mounted it onto foam pads......and there we have it, a cheat's way of making an effective (IMO) card.

Take care and thanks for looking.
