February round up

I will be playing catch up now to add all my for the last month on here but don't worry, I won't put it all on at the same time :) During the month of February I made

PHEW!!!

I have been at work at 7.30 every morning (except last Saturday) for the last couple of weeks and I seem to get so much done in the couple of hours before I open the shop. This week I have been cleaning and have just started painting as I had a new window in the shop last week. The dust has settled and the plaster is dry so I put the first coat on today and will put another coat on tomorrow and hopefully that might just do it. I also need to fill up my card stand as it is getting very low on every day cards.

I think that will do for one night :)

Wedding invitations

These last two weeks have flown past as I've been up to my neck in wedding stationery. I just love it that so many people let me share one of the most important days of their lives! Today I have orders which have been delivered over the last week or so to show, a total of more than 170 invitations and about 80 reply cards. You'll have to excuse the scribble on them, I couldn't figure out how to blur out the details in Photoshop lol

 

  

  

and the bridesmaid tiaras I made on Thursday for my friend's wedding in less than two weeks (13 days Caren :)) 

 

Not only have I made her stationery and tiaras but I'm also decorating her venue as a total surprise to them both and I'm really looking forward to it. It's lovely to be able to use the wedding planning course DH paid so much for! Photos will follow after the 13th :)

Made in Cornwall too

This is another one of the necklaces I made whilst we were on holiday. They are so pretty in any colour combination, I'm making them at the moment in gold and iridescent seed beads and they are lovely too.
This one is gun metal grey and iridescent and I think it has to be my favourite so far. I want to make earrings to match them too as they will be going on sale ready for Christmas and I tend to sell more necklace and earring sets than necklaces or earrings on their own.

All I had to do with this fascinator was to add a few yellow feathers to it. I was a bit wary of the colour combination when I was asked to do it but I must admit that it looked lovely when it was done.

My brother and his girlfriend got engaged during the week so as I wanted the card to be a bit special, I made them an acetate card. I really love using acetate on cards and they are always well received as they are a little bit special. Tina loves angels so I made a little beaded charm to hang on the front of the card.

These were all made for a display in a local wedding shop who are good enough to advertise my work for me.

Time flies

I cannot believe it is two weeks since I last blogged..........how bad is that? So what have I done since I was last here, well.......I have orders coming in fast and furiously (so much so that my mum is working with me part time), I'm ahead with my DT work (DewDrop Craftz cards will be shown tomorrow evening when the new challenge is uploaded and I will add my Debbi Moore DT work later), have two more commissioned albums on the go, DD no 1's wedding is all planned now so we're just waiting for the big day and I have been doing challenges but just haven't had the time to blog them! I did a wedding fayre on 26th April and then last week DH took me camping for the weekend (he knows how to treat a girl :)) We went to the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, it's very quiet and I can't even get a mobile phone signal where we stay! Even DD2 enjoyed it (she's 15). She bought the book Marley And Me on Saturday morning and just laid and read.........unheard of unless it's a gossip mag. Oh and I've half sorted my craft room :)

So to begin......I have made and delivered another set of day and evening invitations for a wedding

and a set of table numbers for a charity function

They were tri-fold in black and white tied together with ivory ribbon. Sorry about the pants photo but I didn't get them finished till about 9 pm and DH whisked them up to the hotel so they could go in the post first thing yesterday morning to be (hopefully) received this morning in time for the 'do' this evening..............it's a good job I work well under pressure LOL

I think I will leave starting the challenge cards till tomorrow........it's bed time :)

Wedding invitations

The final part of this order was collected on Thursday and the bride was very pleased with them. Even now I get a little nervous when I'm delivering or having stationery or cards etc, collected. Thankfully I have never had anyone turn round and say they didn't like was they had ordered.......I think I would just cry if they did :) I must say that one of the attractions of working in the wedding field is the lovely people I get to meet and spend time with and to know that couples like your work enough to represent their wedding is one of the greatest feelings in the world :)

I made the day and evening invitations in February and this part of the stationery set, for the wedding next Saturday, included the orders of service, large and small menus, place cards, thank you cards and the seating plan. This was the first time I had used my Nesties on a seating plan and was really pleased with the outcome, as was the bride.

2 Sketches and bonus

I'm chasing my tail again this week but still managing to tie card challenges into stock and ordered cards :) So this week it is Kazan's Sketch #20 and Julie's turn to submit the bonus sketch.

I've used the new stamp received from Nikki at DewDrop Craftz for my cards this week and isn't he just the little toff!! I've coloured this one with my Prisma pencils and Sansador,

Same stamp again but this time it's coloured with Promarkers after receiving another set this morning ;) Papers are K & C and Papermania, tag and screw brad are from Crafts By Carolyn's shop and the Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards but I coloured them with Promarkers again.

Right off to the PO now before I get stuck into more wedding stationery orders.

Where on earth is this month going, it's going to be C*******s again before we know and I've got no cards made LOL

So what have I been up to then? Well apart from opening one of the wounds up in my mouth (I caught it with my toothbrush) I've got a fair bit done.

First off was finishing DD1's wedding stationery. She came round and helped me finish the last couple. I wonder if it qualifies for the DCM challenge from last Friday!! This week starts nice and easy...Any card, any theme and any colour scheme of your choosing - but the catch... some one else must actually make and assemble the card for you... (with your supervision)!Friends, relatives, or if there is no one close to hand, why not send instructions via email. I shall try it and see........
