Happy Tuesday

The sun is shining and my to do list is shortening :) It has, however taken me all day to add some jewellery to my Facebook page, upload my first bits for sale on my blog selling page and make my card for the Penny Black @ Allsorts challenge and the Penny Black Saturday challenge which this month is a sketch (which I flipped onto it's side to make my card :)).

I haven't done either of these challenges for a while but as I said a few posts ago, I've given myself a kick up the bum and am trying to get back in line with my challenges again as I've always enjoyed doing them.

This is another one that I will be adding to Di's Snippet challenge as the papers came out of my C*******s box (which came down off the top of the book case the other day!) The big piece of pale blue is from a My Mind's Eye Christmas range from a couple of years ago. Note to self...it's ok saying I'm going to add my cards to Di's challenge but I must actually remember to add them to Mr Linky lol

Do you like my big sparkly snowflake die cut? They might appear loads this year. I've had the Marianne Designs snowflake dies for at least a year but this year I was messing with a pack of pastel glitter card and cut a few in different colours....they are lovely.

Thanks for looking :)

Tickety Boo!

Kathy came up with another brilliant sketch for this month on The Sketch File, which she has called Tickety Boo. Why? you may ask, well see for yourself :)

 and here is my card
The papers, including the letters and numbers are from a brand new download from Funky Hand which are not yet released (the joys of being on a fabulous DT :)) and the only extra I added this time was a piece of pink ribbon.

We hope you will join in with our challenge and we look forward to seeing your challenge.

Thanks for looking.

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

As Tuesday was the first Tuesday of the month it was release day for Kathy's new sketch.

And here is my first project
The cutie little cake on the card is from a set of Our Betty stamps by Funky Hand for one of the craft mags (which one escapes me at the mo!!) The sentiment is a Papermania stamp and the papers are from my left overs mountain.
Thanks for looking and we would love you to join us in our challenge.

Tuesday

More birthday cards for the stand (and still the paper/card mountain hasn't diminished any :))

Papers - Funky Hand, image stickers - Me To You, frame and sentiment - Craftwork Cards and all other bits and bobs are from my craft box
Image - LOTV, papers are left over from a previous project and flowers are Prima

Papers - My Minds Eye, image panel - Craftwork Cards
Papers - left overs and sentiment/image - Craftwork Cards
Paper - My Mind's Eye, sentiment panel - as before
left over papers, panel and Card Candy - Craftwork Cards, flowers - Prima
Stamp - I think it's from Stampendous but am not 100% sure, papers are leftovers, frame is cut from gold card and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, flowers were punched. I'm putting this card through for the challenge over on the Sir Stampalot blog which is entitled "It's A Frame Up". The gold on my card is actually a framp which is supported with foam squares but it doesn't come across in the photo so I will try to get a better one tomorrow before I pack the card away.

Bye for now. x

So little time.........

tee hee! I don't seem to have looked up from my work at all this week, as soon as I have finished one order another one is ready to begin.

It has been absolutely treacherous getting to work this past week or so but at last we have colours back instead of everywhere being white. I can't believe how quickly it has all gone!

I have managed to get a lot done again this week and as well as filling orders we now have the business name on the window which looks super good. It's all care of Nikki at DewDrop Craftz......she has made a damn fine job of the lettering, thanks Nikki.

So onto my work. On Monday I made extra invitations, guest book and post box for one of my brides.

Purple has been quite popular this year but it has looked totally different at each wedding, it looks very regal and it's a colour I enjoy working with.

Tuesday was the Inspirational Card Sketch challenge day. I had some wedding anniversary cards ordered so I decided to use the sketch for one of those.

Assorted materials were used including the fab papers and flowers from Nitwits freebies in one of the craft mags. I have a couple of the collections bought from Nitwits but it is so difficult to choose which ones to buy as they are
all just fab. I might make it my new year's resolution to go and buy at least one kit per month :))

Wednesday was just as creative lol and I can't remember what I did as well as the snowman poo, snowman soupl and reindeer food which were being collected by my cousin who owns a hairdressing salon in town!!

I'll leave it there and come back later as I now have to get ready for work.
Enjoy your day and if you can make it last for a few extra hours rather than the normal 24 I will be very grateful
:)

Stamp Something

Well peeps, I am so glad to see the back of April, it has been a rather 'wearing' month for us, what with

  • some kind soul running up the back end of our card (resulting in us having to go out today and buy a new one!),
  • my dad having his hip op and ending up quite poorly
  • my mum and dad moving house and the new one needing decorating from top to bottom and
  • my lap top going belly up on me

So May (and the rest of the year are going to be nice to us lol

This is the first Stamp Something challenge I've done in ages but I needed a card for DH to take to work with him so I decided to use the sketch.
Materials: image-Anita's, papers-Doodlebug and Stampin Up, ribbon-Ribbon Oasis, flowers-Prima and the gems are from my stash.

I've spent most of my evening searching the web for fonts which I've lost with my lap top breaking. I must have spent a fortune buying font!! Of course I can't remember everything I had but a good few of them have now been discontinued :(

Oh well!
Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of the weekend whatever you might be up to.

DT card and

.......a sneaky peek :)

First is my card for last week's challenge which finished off the 'occasions' month. The challenge this time was to make a sympathy card. Not something we like making but something I suppose we must all have to make at some point. I've had to make eight personal ones this year, not something I want to repeat in a hurry! :(

Paper - one of the BG pads (Boxer, I think)
Sentiment - internet

Swirl - QK Rev die

Flowers - Prima
Flat backed SA pearls - stash

Now for my sneaky peek for the challenge this week

Don't forget to pop over to the Rosie-Dee's challenge blog at about 6 pm to see what the new challenge is and how the DT have interpreted it. We look forward to you joining in with us :)

Two in one!

I've combined a couple of challenges here in a card I made yesterday for the Secret Crafter challenge which is to use glitter on your card, then realised that I should have posted the Colour Create bit last night before the new challenge was posted today........a definite blonde moment (but I'm a red head LOL) Anyway, the colour combination was
Blue and green

Papers are by Papermania which is also covering my chipboard flower with the glittered centre (not much but it is there :)) I love the sage ribbon and it matches the textured card brilliantly. Another May birthday sorted, this time for DH's auntie.....I think I'm about done with May now so I can start on June. My nephew's birthday is 3rd and DD1 get's married on the 6th.

Toodle pip, thanks for looking.

Secret Crafter's

.........Saturday Sketch #5

The sketch last Saturday was by Jill but it also had a twist to it. This was the brief So now onto this week's challenge which is another fantastic sketch but this time with a twist. It has been set by our lovely DT member JILL. The twist to the sketch is that you must use the colours pink, white and brown.
Although the bottom paper looks lilac it is actually pale pink (the wonky colour matches the wonky scan :)) The bottom paper is from Pink Petticoat and I don't know what make the side paper is as they were both in my scrap box. The pattern on both papers and the card blank are the white element of my card. Both circles are punched with the Woodware whale of a punch from pale pink card which has been edged with pink chalk ink and brown leather effect card. The Imaginisce bird stamp was stamped with Versamark and embossed with a pink pearl powder. The 'Sherbert Pips' are from Craftwork Cards.............they may appear quite a lot from now on. I bought them at the craft fayre on Sunday and love them. It's a good job really as I got 5 assorted packs! At £1 and approximately 250 per bag it seemed a shame not to ;) I did share them with my mum though LOL
Brown organza ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis as usual.

Right now for Jo's tag!

THINGS I LOVE
My family,
My friends, Jaffa cakes, Music, Cornwall

THINGS I DON'T LOVE

Dentists, Winter, Rude people, Butter beans bleugh!, Tea

First up is the sketch challenge from Di Hickman's blog last Wednesday...........slightly late but it's here ;)Blooms are Prima and Papermania, paper is K & Co and the white card has been Cuttlebugged, ric rac and ribbon from stash.
Next is the Daring Cardmakers challenge from last Friday which was set by Mel and she said 'I've based my dare on the book by Graeme Base called 'Animalia' (just because that book happened to be sitting near my desk when I realised it was my turn for the dare this week).
So, all you have to do is create a card featuring an animal.'

Paper is Sugared by Basic Grey and one of the wedding pads by K & Co, lovebirds stamp is by Pixiedust on ebay and the greeting is a rub on. I'm not sure if birds are classed as animals or just birds so just in case they're not, there are a couple of giraffes on the paper! LOL

And the next one please is another lovely template. This time it's from Friday Sketchers

Papers this time are Basic Grey and Dovecraft, paper frills are by Doodlebug, flowers are Prima and the image was stamped by my lovely friend Jo at Only Joking

I've also managed a couple of challenges from Just Bex Challenge 4 was set by Sarah and was to make a gift bag from a brown paper envelope. This is my first attempt but will definitely give this another go It also fits this week's challenge on the new Stamp Something blog which says For this week, create a little something to say thank you. It's a phrase we say all the time, but sometimes you just need to show people you really mean it. It can be a card, a gift, a scrapbook page or what ever. Just a little something to say thank you!

And last but not least, a couple of cards from Leigh's template challenge on JB.

I missed the challenge weekend by a mile but with the help of the templates etc I've managed to get a couple of anniversary cards made for the shop tomorrow :) Papers again are Papermania and K & Co, flowers are Prima, sentiment is a Lettraset rub on and everything else is from my stash.
So now back to jewellery making and wedding stationery and I will need to get to bed before the dreaded one o'clock like last night as I am at the shop again tomorrow.
Back soon, thanks for looking. xx

Cutie Pie!

I think I must be a couple of years behind everyone else. I've had a few cards ordered this weekend and found a couple of templates/challenges that I've never tried before, the first being Cute Card Thursday who state This week we would like to see your cards made for the men and boys in your lives!

One of my cards is a 'boy' card so I think this one fits their remit :) I also used a template from a challenge but unfortunately I saved the template but forgot to save the link so I don't know where it came from! *blush* If anyone recognises it could you please let me know so that I can credit the person who came up with it? TIA Sorted now, thanks Jo http://artfullyila.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-have-3-high-hopes-stamps-to-offer-as.html
I've used more paper from my left over box so the only paper I recognise is the green one which is from the sheet of Funky Hand paper which I printed off the other day. The stamp, which I have coloured using my cheapy paints from The Works, is from the Stamp Boutique on ebay and everything else is from my stash.

My second card is also from a template challenge but I know where this one is from :) I came across Page Plans via Jennifer's blog and thought I would give the challenge a go.
This is another stamps from The Stamp Boutique, again coloured with the paints. The backing paper is from one of the old K & Co 6x6 pads and the offcuts are from my bit box. The greeting and crystals were on my desk.
I now need to try and clear my desk as I have two bookmarks to make and and a duplicate wedding stationery album. I've been asked to do two wedding fayres, on the same day in two weeks time, so have roped my Mum and Dad in to do one for me. My Dad has done a couple as he was a Relief Manager with Greenwoods, (the mens clothing and wedding suit and kilt chain). My Mum has never done one though but they both like talking to people so I thought it might keep them out of mischief for a few hours ;))
Thanks for reading.

Who' s a clever girl then?

Just look at this...............a load of cards and two blogs in two days. When I have the time and the know how, I will add links to my favourite sites, people etc. Until then, I can cope with adding piccies...........talking of which, here are todays efforts, all ordered!!

First of all I made this card for hubby, he is dj'ing tonight and always gives the hosts of the 'do' a card. Tonight he has.....................a wedding and a works do (we don't do cards for those though) I love this stamp, it is one of many I have bought over the last year from Stamp Boutique on ebay.

This next card is for a Civil Partnership that he has booked next weekend (I am ahead of myself) This card is made using a Magenta stamp and Suet Dumpling paper.

The stamp on this card is by Anna Griffin and has got to be one of my favourites. It is very versatile and I do use it quite a bit. The papers are (I think) Sugar Dumpling. This is also my first attempt at the Daring Cardmaker's Friday challenge.

I made another 3 cards also but 2 are for forum birthdays and the other isn't quite finished so will have to show them later.

At this rate I will be back tomorrow. You have been warned. :)
I have been trying to edit this damn thing for almost 2 hours now. It took me all of 20 mins to write and add pics so I will apologise now for the state of it and if anyone can offer any fool proof advice, please do! The pictures keep jumping all over the place.
