The following images and papers made by Liz at Pink Petticoat are just brilliant for 10 minute cards, which is usually all the time I have to make DH's cards for him to give to his B&Gs when he DJs at their wedding. He does have all his jobs on a wall planner in the office but I keep forgetting to look LOL
For the first card I've used another lovely sketch by Dawn on the ICS blog -week 25 (I will get last weeks and this weeks made tomorrow and edit this post ;) - I have a few birthday cards to make for the end of July (!) and August)

This next card was made using the latest Di Hickman sketch. I haven't managed to do one of Di's challenges for a while so I enjoyed this one. Please excuse the poor photos but they were take at silly o'clock and I'm a rubbish photographer LOLThis card was made for the Mojo Monday challenge which ended today....I must try to remember to upload my cards when I make them otherwise they sit on my desk top till all I can see are little pictures, then I clear it off!

Back again...

...this time with the card I made for the sketch on Di Hickman's blog last week. I do like Di's sketches but often have to miss out (as with other challenges) when work gets the better of me!

I love using acetate on my cards and don't use it nearly enough so I took the chance with this card. I went looking for a quote or something to use as the feature on the sketch and came across my little DCWV Quote Stack which is starting to look a bit forlorn LOL I cut the front off my card leaving a border of approimately 1cm as I like to attach the acetate to it on the inside so once I've added a paper frill there is not tape showing. The ribbons were from my stash, vellum is by Papermania and is glitter embossed (and absolutely beautiful) the acetate and vellum were punched using my newest MS punch which arrived yesterday :), the flowers were from Crafts U Love and the self adhesive pearls were from my stash. I decided not to add a sentiment to the card so it can be used for any occasion.

I've just made a quick card for hubby to take to work this evening (he is DJing at a wedding) so as I hadn't already done so, I used Di Hickman's Card Sketch March 2 and make it for the new challenge on Secret Crafter blog which is set by our lovely MANDY. This week she has chosen a theme of: - HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT!
As usual any project but cake must be somewhere on your project!

I think my cake is quite visible :)) I really like this super cutesy little wedding cake but as with loads of other stamps, it doesn't see ink nearly enough! I used K & Co papers throughout and the ribbon is from one of the Ribbon Oasis kits.

I contacted the girls on the Stamp Something blog on Friday and the stamp was on my desk on Saturday morning! Fantastic service or what. I also ordered a cute little polar bear stamp from Pink Gem and that arrived with my prize. Thanks ever so much for the brilliant service Janet, I shall certainly be keeping an eye on your stamps from now on.

The backing paper is from Pink Petticoat and the image was coloured with Promarkers. Everything else was from my stash.

Di Hickman's Card sketch

January #2 I love this sketch, it is definitely one to use again :)The spotty card is again from Pink Petticoat, the black is from the off cuts of the Bazzil Bling from my last card, the image is from a set of Personal Impressions stamps I bought cheap about 2 years ago and the ribbon and diamantes are from my stash.

For you

I needed a quick card for morning for a friend of mine who is having a bit of a tough time at the mo and I decided to use the Di Hickman sketch from last week (only because I'm still playing catch up ;))

The Rhonna Farrer flourishes and the sentiment are stamped in sepia archival ink, the flowers are Primas, the spotty paper is K & Co, the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the brads and buttons are from my stash. It's only a little card as it's going on a bouquet!

Well I survived my dental adventure yesterday but ended up having a general anaesthetic instead of local and sedation as the anaesthetist said it was less dangerous than if I needed the sedation topping up! I have been on the settee since I got in last night and can only have luke warm drinks and semi solid food till I've been to my dentist tomorrow to have the wounds checked! I have been surprised by how little pain I've had, far less than if I'd had them out in the dentist's chair!

I must go to bed now, I'm still a bit woozy from the knock out drops :))

Better late than never!

I finally managed to do the Di Hickman's Card Sketch October #3 and was really pleased with this card. I think I might be making quite a few cards in this style :)

The paper is again from the Anita's Red Christmas 6x6 pad, snowman and cracker were in my Christmas RAK, the large snowflake is Quickutz and the small trees and snowflakes are Cuttlebug.

Baby cards and more!

I'm back and challenging!!! I've done the baby cards and started the thank you cards and I have really enjoyed being able to incorporate templates and challenges into my work, so here goes.......the first one up is a Page Plans sketchand here is the first of my baby cards

I think that the striped paper is Papermania but not 100% sure. I do know though that the green paper is from a Funky Hand cd. The charms are from my stash and the nappy (diaper) is hand cut.

The next template is from Di Hickman's blog. It is so long since I've had the time to take part in Di's challenge!

and the final challenge for now is the DCM Dare for today (it's ages since I've done this one too) and this is what's required We're having one of our wonderful Lucky Dips this week, because Anice has very generously offered a prize of a free set of "Shabby Saturday" downloads - all you need to do to have a chance of winning this fantastic prize is to join in with this dare, then come back and let us know where we can see your card. Everyone who joins in has an equal chance of winning, all the names go into the DCM "Virtual Hat" and a name is drawn at random - what more incentive do you need? hehehe

The papers are again from The Funky One cd, not sure where the ribbon is from but the flowers are from Papermania and Dunelm and are held together with a Doodlebug Sugar Coated brad.
The rest of the cards are baby cards

The papers on these two cards are from the packaging in the new Sweet Nothings acetates by Papermania, resourceful or what!?! Die cuts are Quickutz and Cuttlebug.

Paper on this one is Under The Boardwalk from Daisy Bucket and the stamp is by Anita's and is one of the first stamp I ever bought and I still love it.

Now for my favourite bit...................adding inserts and packaging the cards *yawn!*

DCM Friday plus

I can't believe where the last week has gone. I have missed so many challenges but need to make half a dozen cards ordered so should be able to fit some in this week. I have worked 19 hour days for the last two weeks. I just can't believe how much wedding work I've had in this week. It has been great and I've loved every minute of it but boy am I tired!! LOL

I realised at eight o'clock this morning that I hadn't even had a look at the DCM challenge this week (let alone done one :)) so as I had a teacher card to make I whizzed over and had a look. It was Tracie's turn this week and here is her brief "I want you to make a QUICK CARD! a card that takes you no more than hmm say 30 minutes max to do - start to finish. No set ingredients and pick your own theme, but be quick and be crafty! (and dont forget to tell us how long it took too).

I really must try to do 'unwonky' scans!! papers, card and vellum are from my scrap box - K & Co, Pink Petticoat and Papermania and everything else is from my stash and not sure where else. The die cuts are Cuttlebug. The sentiment was done on the pc and the card took me 15 minutes.

This card was made for DH's uncle for his birthday this week. Papers are K & Co and Under the Boardwalk by Daisy Bucket, stamp is from Clevercut and everything else is from my stash.

So what else have I been up to? Well, here are a couple of things I've done :)

My first reveal

I am oh so chuffed to be a guest designer on Di Hickman's blog for the month of June and my first card went live on Di's blog last night so I can now show it here.

I thought the sketch lent itself perfectly to a 'bookmark card'. Again I used my fabby Summer pad from Three Bugs, the ribbon is from one of the brilliant kits that Bea & Stu sell on the Ribbon Oasis web site, I've had the verse on my lap top for so long that I can't remember where it came from but the stamp at the top is by Rubbadubbadoo I backed the bookmark onto orange card and laminated it before adding the yellow fibres. The whole think was fastened to the front of the card with a foam pad, I did try using a repositionable tape runner but it kept falling off! I finished it off with a couple of brads from my stash.

Papermania two in one!

Challenges/Dares that is. I've managed to combine the Daring Cardmakes challenge from Tuesday (This week we are looking at the 3rd Anniversary and traditional and modern gifts for the 3rd Anniversary is:-Leather or crystal/glass) with Di Hickman's blog sketch from WednesdayDH is working tonight and is DJing at a civil partnership function so this is the card I made for him.

Backing paper and squares are cut from the Exquisite Paper Collection 6 x 6 pad by Papermania, flowers are by Prima with little pearls in the centres ( a la DCM dare-glass!) tiaras and hearts are Quickutz cut from mirri card and the sentiment was generated on the pc.

I've made a couple more cards this week but can't show them yet as they are for the next four weeks sketches on Di's blog. Wait till you see them, they are fab!!

I am in the process of finishing 108 place cards for a wedding order then I need to make a birthday card for my great nephew who will be 3 on Tuesday and make a 30th birthday card for an order from a friend who wants anything to do with kayaking for her son!!!

Yesterday............

....all my troubles seem so far away :) I won't sing any more, the weather is glorious and I'd hate to make it rain!
Last night I realised that I hadn't made a birthday card for DH's niece who's birthday it is on Tuesday so had to be quick as it had to be in the post this morning. Thanks to Di Hickman's sketch for this week I managed it.

Paper is from the English Paper Company and the die cuts are Quickutz and Sizzix with the cake being paper pieced.

I had a client come to collect some jewellery yesterday evening so I can show it here now.

The lady was thrilled with them. She is going to a wedding next week and has the most stunning lilac dress and wanted jewellery to match.

Right, back to work now as I have a client coming at 10. Whatever you are up to this bank holiday weekend, have a fab one..................I'll be working on and off.

Di Hickman's Card sketch

I do love card sketches, they make my life so easy but I've never actually thought of doing my own. I just decide what I'm using on a card and shuffle it till it looks right LOL (Note to self-start using one of my millions of note books and making my own sketches). I do like Di's though and here is this weeks.The blue paper is from an old Sizzix pad and I'm not sure what the stripey paper is as it was in a kit I bought a while ago. The stamped image is by Stamps Away and the charm is from my stash.

My next card is another one from Lythan's tutorial, this time on yellow card :)

The card is actually yellow Bazzill Bling although it looks orange here. The paper is again from the card kit. The house and clouds are again from Marieke's blog I love the colours in this one.

And now back to my left overs! Here are a couple more that I did this morning.

Patterned paper used is from one of the K & Co mat stacks. Not sure where the lilac card is from but I ran it throught the Swiss Dots folder by Cuttlebug. The stamp is one of the Maggie stamps from Sugar Nellies and the ribbon and heart are from my room full of goodies. :)

Paper is by the English Paper Company (part of my prize from a comp last year in Cardmaking and Papercraft) and the stamps again is by Stamps Away. The rest is from my stash.
The stamp is City Divine by Penny Black. The backing card has again been Cuttlebugged and the flower and brad are from a Papermania mini embellishment kit.
