Peacocks and Feathers

I can't believe that it is so long since my last blog post, so much has happened and I've been so busy I don't know where the weeks have gone! More about that later.

The Kanban design team were lucky enough to receive the latest kit for the shows on Create and Craft this weekend. We had a very tight turn around but as always the team came up trumps and managed enough between us to give Sue and Keith a good display :) It's a lovely kit with some fabulous colour combinations and very easy to work with. There are actually a couple of kits, some lovely foiled card, an A4 pad full of bows, butterflies and peacocks, ribbons and feathers, gems and much more. If you didn't catch any of the shows today (why not?!:)) there are plenty more on C & C tomorrow (unless anything sells out which is very likely) and they are at 3 am, 7 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm so plenty for you to get your teeth into.

Another selection of cards for hubby to take to work when he is djing at a wedding. I used an assortment of digi stamps from Pink Petticoat and Digistamp Boutique, some paper offcuts and lace, ribbon, gems and flowers which were in a pot on my desk.

Kanban Baby

I managed to get together quite a few of the Kanban kits and sheets etc before the company closed down and they are still doing me proud almost one year on :)

The daughter of a friend of mine had a baby girl just before Christmas and she ordered her cards from me and yet again, Kanban came to the rescue.

All of the cards measure 6 x 6 inches and are made using pink pearlescent card from my stock, Birth & Celebration paper pad 901558 and Baby Girl toppers 901541, both by Kanban. Ive added ribbon, brads and other bits and bobs from my stash.

Wedding Cards

I had two wedding cards ordered last week. The first one was to be made in the wedding colours of peach, navy and ivory and Kanban came to the rescue again!

 Ingredients:

Right, that's alll for Saturday.....I know it's actually Sunday morning but I started this post on Thursday ready to schedule it and put the pictures on, then I did something else and forgot about it. I'll now go and write the one for today :) xx

Star Card, Star Album

I'm not exactly sure what these little books/albums are called as everyone seems to call them differently, I call them an album as I put photos in mine :)

It's my to host the Get Funky & Craft blog post for this week and as I had a commissioned album to make I decided I would use that as my project.

Cover 2 pieces of thick card with patterned paper and decorate the front. Make sure the paper is cut large enough to overlap on the inside by about an inch but don't decorate it as the first card will be stuck to it to form the first two pages.

Place tape onto the outer edges of all of 5" and 51/2" cards and to all four edges of the 6" cards..

 The cards which will form the album pages  

Some of the 6" cards will need tape on all four edges these form the 'star' and will be stuck onto the front and back covers

Decorate as you wish, I used off cuts of Funky Hand papers from a vast selection of papers, off cuts of lace and ribbon and bits which always seem to 'lurk' on my desk :)

 and start adding a collection of your favourite photos,

 journalling,

 and verses.

 These little albums make wonderful gifts

 and keepsakes

  and are appreciated by all who receive them.

Funky Friday

When we were in Zakynthos last week we all said that we felt as though we had been over there for months....we've been a few times and are getting to know a few of the locals now, now I feel as though we haven't been away at all, even my poor baby thinks the same and she is only 18!!!

So yes, as it's Friday already I have a couple of Funky cards for you.

 The papers used for this card are from the Wishes and Kisses cd as is the pre-coloured image, the ribbon is available on the web site too. The only extras on this card are a few s/a crystals at the bottom of the white panel.

For this card I used papers from the brand new, just released Daisy Day on the Funky Hand web site. I just added some gems (in the middle of the flowers) and a piece of ribbon.

Funky Hand cards

I just love my Funky Hand cds and store the 'scraps' left over from making samples in their very own plastic wallet. As I am now heavily into my 'make use of the scraps' phase I am surprising myself at how many cards I'm managing to get out of said oddments. The following cards have been made this week using mainly scraps from the Create and Craft shows last month plus a couple of other pieces left in the folder.

Challenge #62 are looking for a project for a baby or child and the challenge has been sponsored by Wink Wink Ink

I thought I would make another easel card for this challenge......I don't make one for ages then every other card is an easel lol

 The fab image is a freebie from yesterday's Delightful Challenges blog hop and is just perfect for a card for a child. the freebie has now been removed but the image is available to buy from the shop. The image was coloured with my Promarkers, all papers and card were from my leftovers and the ribbon and assorted buttons were from my stash.

Meet Hallow,

The Halloween Pixie! She is one of the new Digiz from DewDrop Craftz and she is gorgeous.

Passion For Promarkers, and the challenge this week is any colours but you must use the sketch. I will also be entering my card for the Papertake Weekly challenge (along with guest DT Joanna Sheen!) this week which is So, our challenge is, as I said, The Dark Side and we want to see anything spooky, creepy and Halloween-ie on your cards.

Congratulations

I've just made a quick card for hubby to take to work this evening (he is DJing at a wedding) so as I hadn't already done so, I used Di Hickman's Card Sketch March 2 and make it for the new challenge on Secret Crafter blog which is set by our lovely MANDY. This week she has chosen a theme of: - HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT!
As usual any project but cake must be somewhere on your project!

I think my cake is quite visible :)) I really like this super cutesy little wedding cake but as with loads of other stamps, it doesn't see ink nearly enough! I used K & Co papers throughout and the ribbon is from one of the Ribbon Oasis kits.
