Flippin' men!

Although I have quite a few of these sheets left I tend to forget I have them and don't use them very often. My friend mentioned the other day that it was the 60th birthday this week of the caretaker down at the school I used to work at. I don't usually send him a birthday card but I thought of this image as soon as she mentioned it :)

The image is from the Flipping Men series by Jak Heath and I added a screwdriver and hammer charm because he is into diy in a big way. As soon as anyone mentioned at school that they needed shelves up or whatever he had started the job before they had finished speaking lol
I'm entering this card into the Papertake Weekly challenge as their remit is
So onto this week and as it’s the first one of the month  we have our usual
Anything Goes theme
with the option of adding something dangly  ……
. but remember this is only an option and if you don’t want to dangle then you don’t have to dangle :)
Right, I'm off to do some colouring for a while then I really must do something else in my tip of a work room/studio.
Thanks for looking

Funky Hand cards

I just love my Funky Hand cds and store the 'scraps' left over from making samples in their very own plastic wallet. As I am now heavily into my 'make use of the scraps' phase I am surprising myself at how many cards I'm managing to get out of said oddments. The following cards have been made this week using mainly scraps from the Create and Craft shows last month plus a couple of other pieces left in the folder.

Diamantes, sentiments, charms, ribbons and lace from my stock.
Now for the next lot!!

Monday

Well, I had another busy weekend. DH and I went to town on Sunday morning as I owed him a coat for his birthday which we managed to find then it was a quick dash home as I had work to do! I had a rush order come in at the end of last week which was one of my least favourites...orders of service for a funeral today! What makes the job even sadder than usual is that last month I was making wedding invitations for my cousin and the OoS were for the funeral of her fiance's mum.

So onto a brighter note, I spent all day making birthday cards for the card stand in the shop and these are what I've come up with so far.
Papers - Pink Petticoat, mirror card and the image is from Cornish Heritage Farms and is coloured with Promarkers.
Papers - Funky Hand and Cardcraft Plus, images - Pink Cat Studios, Promarkers
Papers and sentiment - Funky Hand, image - Papermania, Promarkers, small flower punches
Image, papers and sentiment - Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand, tag brad, ribbon and peel off sentiment from my craft stash.
Image, papers and sentiment - Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand, punched flowers from same papers, ribbon from my craft stash.
More Funky Hand papers and everything else from my craft box, Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for looking.

Never ending card

I had my first commission for one of these last week as a wedding card. I've wanted to make one for ages and had messed about with pieces of paper till I got it up to an 8 x 8" card size and this is the result!

I really wish I could take straight photos :)

I used: Woodware stamps, Promarkers, Lily stamp (but I don't know who it's by), Martha Stewart corner punch and the assorted die cuts, charms, ribbons are from my stock.

The same lady also ordered some signs for her shoe shop so as well as making refund and opening hours signs I made these

Aren't they cute?!

Thanks for looking :)

Baby cards

Good mornng.
DH reminded me last night that there were only two baby cards left in the box he takes to work and one of his collegues wife is due to have a baby any day so I st to and made some more. I finally finished them at 1.55 this morning!! and was up again at 7 so I am shattered.
If you're sitting comfortably I will begin!
Teddy is cut from self adhesive Vivelle using the Accucut Huggable, Loveable Bear and Sleepytime. Paper and card are from my offcut box (it isn't going down any!) Blue card is embossing using the Cuttlebug Paisley folder and the sentiment is a sticker from a MAMBI sheet. Ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis

As above but the greeting this time is a peel off. I found a new unused sheet amongst some papers so I have no idea where they came from as I can't remember where I got them. They are not something I usually use but these tiny ones are quite nice.

Paper is again from the offcut box but I believe it is from one of the 6x6 Making Memories pads. Flowers, ribbon and the feet are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.

Papers this time are K & Co and Doodlebug, ribbon from Ribbon Oasis and everything else is from my stash.

Recipe as above but this time I think the pink stripey paper might be Blonde Moments but I won't swear to it. ;)

Papers this time are Pink Petticoat

I think the stripey paper on this one is from an old Papermania mini album kit. Everything else is from my goody box (or should that be room)

This card is just using pale blue pearlescent card as the mount. everything else as above.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Back soon.

Another challenging day!

Why is it when you have something you really must do, it's harder to get your head round? I should be designing some new wedding stationery ready for a wedding fayre in a couple of weeks and what have I been doing?.............Colouring!!! Well I have actually been stamping, colouring, mounting and making cards for challenges! Tomorrow I do wedding stationery. LOL

So firstly we have the DCM challenge
Me and My Shadow
Hiya fellow darers, Jane here ! How are you all ? This weeks dare is a hard one !! Sorry everyone, but it had to be done !! :)
I want you to create not just one but TWO cards ! But wait........there's more ! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons etc- but arranged in a different way for a different occasion....the only thing being different is the wording....I'll let you have different wording ! (How nice of me eh?) I'm well aware this is a really hard challenge, and that I have thrown everyone into 2008 off the deep end....but go on- give it a go - I DARE YOU !

The stamp used on both is Hamish in kilt who I think is just adorable! He is coloured again with the shimmer paints from The Works (courtesy of Lisababe) (I know the darker blue is Phoebe by Basic Grey but not sure which one as I'd cut the bottom off :)) The lighter paper and star brads are from my stash and I think the round swirl brads were from one of the kits from Scrummy Stash Cafe Greetings were done on the laptop.
My next card is for another challenge, this time over on the JB forum and this time it's a template.
Again the image was stamped and coloured with the paints. The paper is pink haze and was embossed in the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Ribbon and ballet shoe button are from stash.
My final challenge was a Di Hickman template and this is it.
Another card for DH to give to a couple for whom he is DJing. I love this lily stamp but only 'rediscovered' it just before Christmas. Charms and paper from stash.
The following cards were made simply because I had the images painted, on my desk! Rubber stamps for both of these cards are from Pixie Dust on ebay, charms and ribbon are from stash and the papers again are from my scrap box.

The final image (as if you didn't know) is City Divine by Penny Black. Flowers are Prima and the brad is Doodlebug.
Today is my stationery day. I am actually waiting to start a wedding order. I ordered all the card last week and it came on Wednesday but part of the order was missing and I can't start it till the pink card gets here, as it's an important element in the design. This is my reason for being up an about so early on a Saturday-to catch the delivery man if he comes, so he doesn't put a card through the door thinking we're out. I did start blogging last night but it was after 11pm and I was tired. I actually sat and watched tv for a change. I still feel lousy after the horrid cold I've had for the last 9 weeks. I went to see the do last Monday only to be told that I have a severe chest infection and my right lung is filling up with fluid. He gave me antibiotics and I have to go back on Monday to see if I need a stronger dose. :(
I am now going to make another cup of coffee, add my cards to the relevant challenge places and blog hop for a while. There are some seriously talented people around out there and the diffent styles etc are so inspirational.
Enjoy your weekend, thanks for looking. X
