Waffle Update

Another Tuesday has come and gone which means another card on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File using the sketch from the beginning of the month, Crest Of A Wave (whenever I see the sketch this month the old Boy Scout song starts in my head "We're riding along on the crest of a wave while the sun is in the sky.......) lol

  I used one half of a card from Craftwork Cards as the top wavy line on the front of my card. The little silver frames were cut using Spellbinders Decorative Elements Labels Eight, the flowers are from Prima, paper borders are from Doodlebug, happy birthday stamp is from Clearly Besotted and the gems are from my box.

Black & White

DH was working last night and the event was a 60th birthday. They had a black and white colour scheme, which I overheard them telling a member of staff at the wedding fayre we did a couple of weeks ago when they came to view the venue.

The papers used are from Doodlebug but I can't remember the name of it. I've also used an off cut of silver mirror and black card, ribbon snippets, flowers and diamantes are from my stock and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Wedding card

Another wedding card for DH to take to work with him but this time the wedding was a colleague of his and out came the Pink Petticoat paper and images again :) (I would be quite lost without them!)

These images are great because they don't need to be coloured if you don't want to. Sometimes I glitter them or use a clear Sakura pen on them but not always. The flowers was punched from the three different papers and curled slightly with my bone folder and I added the large Doodlebug gem to the centre. The ribbon is pure white with a wired silver edge and it's really pretty. I've had it for ages and not used it as I thought it was too wide, however, now I've used it I really like it so might add a couple of big bows to other projects.

Friday Sketchers!

Late again for the challenge from last week so I did the new challenge posted today and chose to upload both week's cards at the same time :)

The big reveal

......of the DT work for Rosie Dee's. I can't believe it's already a week since I last blogged, I'm sure someone is stealing my time! lol I've been at a wedding fayre all day today and am shattered but I am about to go and see my poorly daddy in hospital. He was hoping to be out tomorrow but that isn't going to happen as his consultant has arranged for the heart team to pay him a visit, not good :(
So...my card! The theme for this fortnight is "Blessings" and was set by Lyn

Mojo Monday

This is another fab sketch (as always) and more inspirational DT work. It's definitely worth taking a look even if you don't take part in the challenge!

I decided to be a wuss and stick to my usual square card!

I'm doing quite well at the moment using bits from my left over paper mountain and what's on my desk (one day I may be able to see it in it's entirety lol)

I've got two more challenges for this card. The first is the sketch from last week's Sketch Saturday challenge and the Colour Create challenge which is "to use the colours black, white, yellow and red with the option of using flowers and checks." I managed the flower but couldn't find the checked ribbon so ended up using striped ribbon instead.

and this is the last of my DT cards for now (did I hear someone say thank goodness?) It's almost as good as having to sit through someone's holiday snaps LOL so the materials used are

Our challenge this week has been chosen by Michele and again we have a sketch to work with. However the twist this week is that you can use any colours you like *yay* (great for all you peeps that don't have all the colours yet).
And again I'm in by the skin of my teeth!! :)

Late again!

........with the challenge from Papertake Weekly (so what's new, I hear you cry LOL) Well anyway, it's done now. I was also having a mooch around whilst waiting for the mojo to kick in (I think it is going into holiday mode, but it's way too early :)) and I came across the Dutch Dare challenge blog which I had seen on a couple of blogs but never thought to investigate! They have a great sketch this week so I decided to use it with the Papertake challenge of "My Favourite Things" My absolute favouritist thing(s) at the moment are the new Bloom and Grow papers from My Minds Eye.......I just lurve them :)

Rosie-Dee's DT call

Inspirational

Card Sketch #11 by Dawn Baty and I haven't used Under the Boardwalk papers on it :))

The Patti image is another one from the Patti Picklicious cd

coloured with Promarkers, the blue floral paper is an old one by Doodlebug (which I still love), the flowers are Prima and everything else is from my stash.

Just one cornetto....

....on a quick card for DH to take down to Somerset today. He's gone to see his mum and the card is for his niece.

I downloaded these images last year from the Lilypad and have never used them *blush* I also used an old sketch by Kim Fee

Backing paper is by My Minds Eye, greeting was done on the lap top, flowers are a mix of Prima and ebay and the green trims are Doodlebug Page Frills.

Colour Create

...have another super colour challenge up this week and it is Duck Egg Blue and Rose Pink and the little 'extra' is to add some stitching to the card.

There is real stitching where the lace is gathered onto the hood (I didn't actually put it there, the manufacturer did) but I did add it to my card ;)) I love this pale blue card, it has almost a satin sheen to it and you can just make out the self coloured flowers. It was, when I bought it, perfumed but I have had it for ages and the perfumed smell has now gone-still nice though. The pram was hand cut from Nestability circles, the buttons and pearl brad are Papermania, the stamps and blue brads are Doodlebug and everything else is from my stash.

I've made another challenge card this evening too but that will have to wait until tomorrow as I'm bushed and am taking my mum to Country Baskets tomorrow morning to get some stuff for my daughter's wedding. Well actually my dad is taking us both..........time I went to bed :)

Kathy's Waffle

Sketch 2009 #8 lends itself perfectly to flowers or lollipops but I decided to do a mixture of both (just to be awkward) and made lollies that look like flowers :)
The daisy paper, on the large scalloped circle, is left over from the Patti Paper I used earlier in the week, the yellow card is from my scrap box, the green squiggle paper is left over from when I first printed a piece of Kirsty's last freebie and the main piece of green is the reverse of a sheet of stripey paper by Crate Paper. The stems/sticks are Doodlebug Paper Frills and the wording is a rub on by MSE. The Flollies ( x between flowers and lollies remember - just humour me LOL) were cut using my new circle Nesties.

Dawny's Sketch #11

Another of Dawny's fab sketches this week and one I shall definitely use again. When you have spare time take a look at Dawny's blog not only will her posts brighten your day but her work is fab too :)

Not sure what the paper is on this one but the image is another Sally-Ann download (just take a look at the blog candy she has on offer!) There are some new designs on there too so I would probably have to go shopping shortly :) The rub on used for the sentiment are Doodlebug and the brads are from my stash.

The plus part of the title is that the card also fits the challenge on the Secret Crafter blog which is....Favourite Colour:- As usual any creation but must be based on your favourite colour scheme Well it just so happens that my favourite colour is yellow (of which there are a few yellow cards on my blog!)

Kathy's sketch

I don't know how I missed this one, it has been in my 'to do' folder for ages ;) I'm still making Mother's day cards for the shops so these sketches, challenges etc are coming in very handy. I thought I'd made enough Mother's day cards but I was very obviously mistaken.......Clinton cards had better watch out LOLThe image is a free sticker from the front of a mag, I've used Bazzill card, dotty Doodlebug paper and I'm not sure what the blue and yellow paper is and the rest is from my stash.

Woo Hoo!!

..........challenges completed on the same day as they were published :) starting with Friday Sketchers

The green paper on the left is the reverse of the pink paper. All I know is that it was in an old SA kit but not sure what it is. Not very good on this card as I don't know where the daffs are from either or whether it's a download or a stamped image. It has been on my desk since finding it in a drawer a couple of weeks ago! I do know that the page frill is by Doodlebug though :)

Combined challenge

For this card I used the sketch #5 from Sketch & Stash and the Papertake Weekly challenge which is Pink, Orange and Brown - Hot chocolate???!!! this weeks challenge - Hot Chocolate! lol It's a colour combination challenge, the Pink and Orange is the 'hot' part and the brown is obviously the chocolate!How gorgeous is this image!! She is called Elise and she is one of the new downloads from Chris at Sketching Stamper I couldn't decide which one I wanted so I bought them all :)) I coloured her with Promarkers and added Stickles to her frilly underskirts. Papers are Pyjama Party by Doodlebug (another one from a million years ago ;)), flowers are a mix of Prima and Cuttlebug die cuts and the ribbon (as always) is from Ribbon Oasis.
