Kanban Thursday

Hi everyone, I'm late again with my blog post but this time it's only by 24 hours :) I have so much to do at the mo it's unbelievable with trying to get on top of the garden after this diabolical spring (I wish I could afford a gardener but the last time I got one to help me he pinched half of my bulbs :() My greenhouse needs cleaning too as one of us left the wick up too high and it's all covered in soot! The mop and bucket and Jeyes fluid is at the ready.

So my card is one for my box (I will add the 'ingredients' list later, I don't have my notebook with me at the mo as I'm sat watching The Voice (go Leah!!!)

This card was made for my best friend and her hubby on the birth of their first granddaughter.
 Thanks for dropping in.

Bfn xx

PS Don't forget the challenges over on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File and The Crafting Muskateers, they are both month long challenges so there is still plenty of time for you to enter. xx

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

Well peeps, as always Kathy came up with another of her fab sketches to which we all (the DT) came up with very different cards as usual. We also have the chance this month to welcome the newest member of our team, Lynda from Lynda Loves Crafting and the Daring Cardmaker's blogs. Her work is just gorgeous so make sure you stop by and take a look :)

Papers and embellishments used are by K & Co and the verse on the front of the card is a rub on but I can't remember who it's by.....it might be Mambi.

Thanks for looking :)

Baby baby

I got an email this morning to say that my blog has been included in an aticle entitled "101 Lovely Craft Blogs" over on the DotComGiftShop. I hadn't heard of them before so went to have a look and there are a few other names I recognise. Anyway, thanks for this Thomas, it made my day!! :)

I love making baby cards as much as I love my weddings and having found this gorgeous image at Karen's Doodles I may have to make a few spare:)

The image was coloured with Promarkers as usual, flowers are E line by Prima and everything else is from my stash. The ribbon is actually printed with a baby image and it says Its a Boy but it's difficult to see on the pictures!

Right, back to the album, I shall be at it very late this evening as I need to get the album finished and photographed before it goes tomorrow.

Take care :)

Passion for Promarkers

The laptop saga continues....I ordered one yesterday from Amazon and paid for the guaranteed next day delivery which meant it would have been here by one o'clock today....Wrong! It could now be here between tomorrow and 3rd May! I do, however have my hard drive as an external drive so at least I have all my work, accounts etc which is a huge relief. I appear to have lost my fonts though, which I've spent a fortune on! It's not the end of the world...I can start collecting again ;)

Today has also seen mum and dad moving into the bungalow so I have been dad sitting :) He would have been sat on his own all morning and got in the way all afternoon so yesterday he decided he was coming over here lol.

So onto the challenge on the PfP challenge blog. It's Michelle's turn to set the challenge and she gave us a lovely sketch to work with. I've made two cards to this sketch but the first one doesn't count as I had forgotten that the flowers had to be handmade lol

Card no 1 (for my mum and dad)
Pink Petticoat image coloured with Promarkers, paper is from an old Papermania pad, flowers are Prima and everything else is from my stash.

The real card lol
Another Pink Petticoat image coloured with Promarkers, papers from scrap stash but include K & Co and everything else is from my stash again.
Thanks for looking, have a good evening.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat, the image is a card sticker from Doodlebug, sentiment is from a sticker sheet by MAMBI, ribbon and buttons from stash. Please take the time to join us and don't forget that there is a fabulous Basic Grey stamp set on offer fof the winner.

Baby card

I've had this cute little image by Sally-Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique on my desk all week so decided to use it on Sue's sketch challenge for the CBC Birthday challenges

There are bonus points if we use a rub on and something that flies! Image coloured with Promarkers, Prima flowers and everything else from my stash.

I'll be back in a while as it is challenge day on the ICS challenge blog so have my DT cards to show. TFL

Baby card

For this card I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash and the challenge from Papertake Weekly which is to use pastel colours.

I love pastels and they lend themselves beautifully to baby and wedding cards, both my favourite card making categories!
I'm doing really well with favourites for this card.......one of my favourite images and some of my favourite papers too:) The image is called Embrace and is (obviously-her stamps stand out a mile) by Penny Black, coloured with Promarkers and Prismas, and the papers are Bella from the MM Kids Collection. The new thing I used this week was the lace across the middle of the card.

I wonder if any of you know where I can get this stamp please? I received this image amongst a load stamped for me last year by my blogging buddy Jo and this is my last one :( At 1.30 this morning I was trawling the internet looking for it but everywhere I found it was out of stock. Has it been discontinued? I am prepared to buy it from the US as long as the shipping costs aren't a rip off! Thanks in advance for your help.

Back to the wedding order now. I'm on the downward run on this one so it should all be finished and collected by Tuesday. There is something about this wedding that I have never come across before and that is both the bride's dad and the groom's dad have the same Christian name (spelt the same) and both the bride's mum and the groom's mum share the same Christian name too. The b2b was also saying yesterday that hers and the g2b's birthdays are one day apart too. If that's not fate then I don't know what is :)

Rock a bye baby

My friend's daughter gave birth to a baby boy in the early hours of Wednesday morning and I made the cot for her to give to her daughter. It's made from an Arty Farty template which my mum bought about three years ago. I made a pink one when it first came and have had it sat in my craft room for a long time as I use it as a sample. It is so sweet.
Exploding Box
The box was also commissioned this week, for a friend's 60th birthday, by her sister. I decided to give it a 'vintagey' feel and am relly pleased with the way it turned our. The lady came to pick it up last night and had a slight sniffle when she read some of the little sayings etc.
The following card is from us to the same lady
Brenda Pinnick papers
Prima flowers
Ribbon Oasis ribbon
Papermania rub on
flat back crystals
DH's anniversary card. It was our wedding anniversary on Thursday and it was absolutely mad here till about two oclock. I was sat quite happily putting the exploding box together when (in true crafter's form) I remembered I hadn't made his card...........and this was at 10 past 4 in the afternoon!!! He got in from work at 4.35 and his card was propped against the kettle as though it had been there all day! ;)

As well as working all hours, DD1's wedding dress arrived on Tuesday and she has been round twice to try it on :) I won't let her take it home cos she'll be doing housework in it LOL
And that folks is this weeks work so far. I now need to make a wedding card for DH to take with him to work this evening.
Take care and thanks for looking and all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Friday Sketchers #29

I managed to incorporate another order into a challenge This always makes my life very easy as I only have to think of what to use and not what I'm going to do with it LOL
I've had all the bits and pieces, except the ribbon, on this card for a couple of years so can't remember where I got any of it from. The ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis

Yippeeee

So what have I been up to since Saturday? Well, I had my first appointment at 10.00 am and sold a tiara. I then went onto my mum and dad's to deliver the OoS and seating plan and they are over the moon with them! We then went on to the next appointment at 7.00 pm and they weren't in!! We drove around the block and went back and they still weren't in so we came home. It so annoys me when people do this. She has my phone details so could have rung to cancel. I know anything can happen at any time but it doesn't make it any better when it happens! Moan over :)

I spent yesterday in the garden and we are now weed free and all the daffy bulbs have been planted.
I had a leaving card to make for a collegue of DH and a very good customer of mine! They work for a railway company and this is what I came up with

I just love the little Cuttlebug train and carriage and thought it was appropriate for this card!

My next card is the DCM challenge from Friday. I got a lovely bag of lace from a charity shop a couple of weeks ago so thought I could use some on a card. There was loads in the bag and it all looks brand new and cost me the grand total of..................50p!!! So, this is their brief OK, here's this weeks dare:Let's go Charity shoppingor Op shopping (as we call it in Australia)
I DARE you to visit your local Charity Shop & make someone else's
TRASH your STASH!
.........and make a GORGEOUS card from what you find. You'll be amazed at the special little treasures you'll find if you only take the time to look with CREATIVE EYES

and this is my take on it

I can't remember where I got the foil printed card from as I found it in one of my drawers! The lilac backing card is DCWV, the 'baby' is a Sizzlit die, the lace is from my cheapo bag and the little hands are from Crafts by Carolyn

I've also started the favours for mum and dad's do today. I've done the 3 children's favours and 10 adult so far. Will show piccies when they are done. I have also made a wedding invitation sample to be posted off tomorrow.

I must clean up in the morning too, I have a couple coming to see me about a stationery order!

Take care. x

Oh baby

Today's card is another mixture of two challenges, one from Just Bex and the midweek extra from the DCM.

First up is Lis's challenge
September challenge 2 - Get Tearing......
.......for this next challenge !!! You've guessed it...cards or LO's tear them to your hearts content.
and this is from the DCM
We're being really gentle on you for the Little Extra this week (which might indicate that there's a "stinker" in the pipeline for Friday, of course.....), in fact we're feeling so soft and fluffy that that's going to be our theme for this one:
"You Big Softie" We want you to use something soft on your card feathers, velvet paper, fluffy fibresall that soft, strokable stuff counts for this one and that's it, easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!
So here it is
Stamped image with pink feathered wings. I made this topper over a year ago and wasn't happy with it cos I wasn't sure how to finish it off, so it got chucked in the drawer. Anyway I found it whilst looking for something else a few days ago and last night I decided to finish it. I added the feather wing and the baby feet and mounted it onto a larger piece of card. This was torn using my tearing ruler (for the second time, but have had for a long time and wasn't sure what to do with them either!) and mounted it onto the card with Quicklets. The greeting is a peel off, but don't tell anyone!

Check this out!!

Sorry about the pun, I couldn't resist it LOL This is the card I made for another challenge on the JB forum

August Challenge 17
Your challenge should you choose to accept it is to produce a card incorporating gingham this can be card, paper or ribbon...it`s up to you

Backing paper used is K & Co baby pad and Making Memories Kids Kate pad. Gingham ribbon is Anita's self adhesive ribbon, pram is cut with an Accucut die and I think the 'Baby' word is Bosskut but it was in a RAK ages ago.

Right, back to work, I will hopefully be back later.

Toodle pip.

Thank God It's Tuesday!

Gosh what a busy few days. I have all but one of my orders done and out. I finished and posted the last of the wedding orders yesterday and so have another happy bride to be on my books. (I really must update the comments page on my web site "oops")

Next is another card I did for the Friday night challenge on Just Bex. The details of the challenge are below. I actually did this one on Friday evening along with the flower card but forgot to photograph it.
I got another text order last night from my dear friend (of Exploding Box fame ;)) This time her friend's son's wife had a baby boy yesterday and she wanted another box and a 'normal' baby card! I did these today. She also collected the lilac DCM card from Friday and was very pleased with it.

And finally, a quickie made for hubby's work collegue who is leaving this week.

I have also been working on a project which I'm rather chuffed about but I'll save that one for tomorrow. :) I've got a couple of challenges to catch up with tomorrow too so at least I'll have something to talk about!
