Kathy's Waffle....

...Sketch File has a fabulous sketch on the blog at the moment which I think could be termed "simple but effective" and I love it. I sat down to make my first DT card and made 4 :)

Here is the sketch and two of my cards

 I've used white pearlescent card backed onto silver (which looks black in the photo), Doodlebug Page Frill and the image and sentiment from The Digi Stamp Boutique coloured with Promarkers.

Ingredients used on this card are: image - Pink Petticoat which as been coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto a Nellie Stellen scalloped rectangle die cut, The butterfly was cut from vellum using a Memory Box die and and then mounted onto a gold ribbon frill. I shall enter this into the Daring Cardmakers Challenge for this week which is

The 'Frill' Of It All

I would like you to incorporate some kind of frill on your card. It could be a frilly embellishment or background or maybe a stamp you have that would work. Anything that's fun and frilly!

Sunny Sunday!

It might have been sunny but it has been blooming cold. We got in the car to come home from my parents' house at about half past four and the temp gauge in the car read 0.5 and it was getting really frosty. I really hate winter, I could do with hibernating in September and waking up again at the beginning of March for my daughter's birthday (and mine!).

I've just got a couple of quick makes to show today, a wedding card for hubby for last night and a couple of tip boxes for my daughter and her boss at work.

 The quote is from a set of stamps I bought in Michaels in New York a couple of years ago and I still think they are brilliant. They are made by Inkadinkadoo. The rings are cut from a Memory Box die.

Papers are all from the Oh Come All Ye Crafters collection from Funky Hand. I've had the reindeer for so long that I can't even remember where they came from.

Funky Friday

Our super friend and team mate (Kathy's Waffle) has started a Facebook page just for us lazy so and so's who start out blogging with all good intentions but then it drops off without us realising it BUT (and in my case it's a big butt ;)) you have to make a card too :) Here are the details in Kathy's own words

"I've just started a Facebook group called "a Card a Day" and I'm hoping that lots of fellow-card makers will use it as a virtual "prod" to get those cards made - it's an "open" group so anyone can join in, and enlist their friends too. I'm hoping it will encourage us all to use our own blogs more and to visit and leave a message on each others' blogs too - Just a "hello" to say you were there if time is short. So here are my 'Funky Friday' and my 'Card a Day' makes

 This card is made using left over paper from the "October Freebie" from Anice at Funky Hand for anyone who would love to take part in the Get Funky challenge but doesn't own any Funky Hand products. The sentiment is from Twelve Crafters Crafting and the tree is a Memory Box die. 

 Papers from Traditional Ole Xmas by Funky Hand. This paper hasn't been released yet but most of the other new papers and digi stamps are now available on the Funky Hand web site

You should really take a look at the papers, they are seriously gorgeous :)

I made the bottom card using the sketch from Mojo Monday
I can also add them to Di Snippets
and Sarn's Penultimate Rudolf day

I now need to go and make my son's birthday cards, it's his birthday tomorrow (the sign of a true crafter lol )

Just a quickie.....

as I am still in wedding fayre mode and getting on really well instead of having to rush everything on the Saturday like I usually do. I've not got much more to do now. One of my jobs though will involve sitting on the floor and surrounding myself with favours. I'm dressing the tables at the wedding fayre and just need to make sure that I have enough favours to go on each table along with place cards, table numbers/names and or menus.

It was my mum and dad's 55th wedding anniversary and this is the card I made them...

These little toppers from Lili OF The Valley are really good for when you are in a rush although I keep forgetting I have them lol, Craftwork Cards sentiment and Memory Box heart die cut.

Must dash, I will be back tomorrow with photos from the wedding fayre.
