Another quickie

This time the card is for the challenge on the Passion For Promarkers blog. the colour combo for this challenge are Grass and Canary.......not quite grass and a canary, more like a frog and a lily pad, boom boom :))

Materials: DewDrop Digi stamp, Sizzix frog, Promarkers, papers - My Mind's Eye, googly eyes, Ribbon - Ribbon Oasis,
buttons from stash, sentiment - pc

I loved this image and it screamed Sizzix frog at me!! The image is part of a flower set sent to me a couple of weeks ago by Nikki from DewDrop Craftz and is one of the new
Digiz sets recently added to the site. Don't forget to check out the new challenge which goes up on Tuesday.

I don't usually get involved with controversy on my blog but this evening just made my blood pressure rise somewhat! Was Mr Cowell unfair this evening? I think so, I certainly don't think Lucie deserved to go at all, I think she has a lovely voice, has been consistent all the way through and seems to be a really nice girl and that's all I will say, read into it what you will LOL. I shouldn't even have an opinion as I'm one of the ones who don't vote until the final :( I love young Joe and Olly though :)

That's it, I'm down off my soap box now so onto a brighter note......my dear, darling beloved hubby has only gone and booked to take us back to New York in March :) We found when we went this year the three days just wasn't long enough to see what we wanted to see (DD could've spent three days in Macy's if I'd let her!) so we are going again at the end of March but this time we are going for FIVE days.....woo hoo!!

Right o, I have some work to finish before I hit the sack so I will see you soon. Sleep tight and thanks for looking. xx

Santa Claus is

coming to town!!
These cards have gone down a storm this year, everyone who sees them just loves them. They are called Flippin' Christmas by La Pashe

Materials: papers - Craftwork cards, My Mind's Eye and magazine freebies, stickers - Anita's and Papermania
and everything else from stash

I've got another couple to do so will probably be back with them at some point :)

Sketch # 27

Good morning from a wet and miserable Sunday in Scruff's Corner!

I've worked my little (well alright, large) butt off this week and am back to working into the night to keep on top. For the first time since I've been in business, I still have wedding orders coming in. Up until this year, they have died off about October and started agin in January which has given me a clear run at Christmas goodies. I have a jewellery party booked, another shop interested in my jewellery and loads to do for Christmas so will be burning the midnight oil well into December me thinks. I love my job and still, after five years, take it as a great compliment that people are prepared to part with their hard earned cash to buy my work. I feel so lucky to be able to sit every day and get paid for a job I adore :)

So, onto the challenge, I love the simplicity of Dawn's sketches, they definitely suit my style. I love clean and simple lines and much as I try, I can't seem to manage cluttered or shabby chic......I think it's a classic case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! :)

Materials: papers - Pink Petticoat, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, Sizzix dungarees and everything else is from my stash

Thanks for looking.

Sketch and Stash

Challenge # 22
A quick card for a forum birthday. Let's just hope it doesn't get lost in the back log of mail!!

Materials: paper - Pink Petticoat, image - Debbi Moore, ruffle, spotty flower, flower centre and sentiment - Craftwork Cards,
small flower - Dianne's Die Cuts, pearls and ribbon - stash

My totally unused item is the large spotty flower from Craftwork Cards. I bought them as part of a kit at a craft show in May and this is the first time I've used one! It's also the first time I've used a pyramage topper as part of my own work. I've done them for Debbi's dt work but never for me so I hope that qualifies too :)

Right, back to work now.......Santa is waiting! LOL
Take care and thanks for looking.

Materials: papers - Colorbok and Craftwork Cards, image - Pink Gem Designs, Promarkers, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis,
sentiment - Studio G, Glamour Dust, X Cut snowflake and SA pearl

Just how cute is that little fella? I've had him since the beginning of the year and forgot all about him! I think he is perfect for children's Christmas cards.

Thanks for looking.

The triathlon!

Well not quite, it's far too energetic for a Sunday morning (it's actually too energetic for any time lol) but I have just made a card to enter into three challenges so I'm sure I qualify :)) My three challenges are:
Passion For Promarkers
......Right onto this week’s challenge, which has been chosen by Helen. You can use any colours this week, but Helen would like to see animals somewhere on your creations.

Colour Create.......Okay, Okay, there is no picture. Why? because the colours Heather picked is ALL WHITE. So we'd like to see your makes with colour on the image only.

Penny Black Saturday challenge.....White on White Now its not as difficult as you think and after a little panic.....I'm sure your all going to love this one.... as we all did. We'd like to see your creations in WHITE....WHITE papers, WHITE embellishments - the only colour we want to see is on your image.

Materials: image Penny Black, Promarkers, Glamour Dust, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, self adhesive pearls

Thanks for looking

And the winner is.......

I put the numbers into Random Number dot org (but couldn't figure out how to show it on here! lol) and the number which came out was lucky seven, so the winner is.................Weewiccababe. If you want to email me your address Debs, I will get the goodies sent off to you.

I will be putting another candy up shortly so watch this space!

As seen on TV

I know I said that I would be back at the weekend but I have been so busy, my life seems to be passing me by in a blur!

I was so chuffed to see my designs on TV again and managed to tape the re-run of the show on Friday evening. All the projects (apart from the very last one) were made using papers and images from Debbi Moore's Glitter and Glitz Art Deco Magic Moments cd

My little book mark....all I did for this one was print one of the images from the cd, mount it onto silver mirror card and laminate it. All it needed then was a punched hole in the bottom to thread the fibres through.

I love this card! The image was printed off at A4 and glittered (with Deb's fine glitter) to within an inch of her life........all the fronds down her skirt, dress straps, arm band and feathers all got it LOL I mounted her onto silver mirror card and added assorted clear diamantes, silver Card Candy from Craftwork Cards, QK flourishes, Prima flowers and ribbon from Ribbon Oasis

I love this note book and plan to make some as stocking fillers. I used MS Word to print the image onto the pages as a watermark and bound the whole lot together with my BIA.

This image was printed onto photo paper and the background was printed directly onto magnetic paper, both from Photo Paper Direct I have been absolutely blown away by the magnetic paper and will definitely be incorporating it into my work some more. It prints perfectly and I stamped straight onto it using a Memento ink pad. I also coloured my image using Promarkers as you will see below. The colours didn't blend quite as well as they do on card but the colouring was fine. My next task is to try them with Prisma pencils.....watch this space! The calendars are from Papermania.

I don't know if you can make this image out properly but it is actually a pyramage card. I had never made one of these until I got this cd and I ended up making two :) The pyramage 'tiles' were printed onto photo paper, (which is the perfect weight for this sort of work) again from PPD and cut by hand. The aperture was cut with my Nesties and ribbon and gems were from my stash.

Finally onto my groovy little fridge magnet. I used a stamp from a new set of ladies which don't appear to be up on Deb's web site yet. As I mentioned before, I stamped directly onto the magnetic paper and coloured the image with Promarkers. The sentiment is from another one of Debbi's stamp sets - The Deco Ladies

I also received some t shirt transfer paper in my pack and had the wonderful idea of printing one of the lady images onto it and ironing it onto a canvas to embellish......not one of my better ideas, howver and I now have a ruined canvas LOL I'm not sure if a bit of steam escaped from the iron or I moved it or didn't press hard enough with the iron but no matter, it didn't work. I haven't been put off though and it is still on my to do list to master it :)

That's it for now, thanks for looking.
