Papertake

Weekly is the challenge I used for my next card and I've just got enough time to upload it before I have to get ready to go out. I have a guest book and post box to deliver and will drop them off on our way home from the Chinese :) It's an all you can eat for a fiver place is is absolutely fab! I rang my mum this morning to see if her and dad wanted to come and she thinks she has swine flu, she did sound awful, so we are going on our own.

Anyway, back to Dawny's sketch

Anyone For Anya?

I came across this blog indirectly last night, in fact, I haven't a clue how I found it but I did :) For anyone who loves Anya stamps it is going to be right up your street. I only have two....Princess Anya and Skateboarding Ian but this could be the perfect excuse to have to stock up. They are just so cute!

Multi challenged!

Passion For ProMarkers have a sketch as well as the colours pastel pink and cool aqua, this week.

The Stamp Something is The challenge this week fits in perfectly with summer. We'd like you to create a project featuring bugs, butterflies or other winged somethings. Over here in NH, bugs and butterflies are out in full force enjoying the long summer days. So we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate this little part of summer than to give them their own challenge!

The Daring Cardmakers challenge is
On The Edge -

We'd love to see you making use of all sorts of border treatments; scallops, trims, pleats, or anything else which makes the edges of your papers and cards look special. You could use Border Punches, Die Cutters, Lace, Fancy Trims and that's just for starters - let your imagination live right on the edge this week - or maybe even go right over the edge!

And finally, The Secret Crafters challenge is
This week's challenge has been set by the lovely DONNA and she has chosen a recipe of:-
3 BUTTONS
2 DESIGN PAPERS
1 RIBBON
Any project as long as the recipe is followed.

Phew, I don't think I've ever managed a four in one challenge before!

The image is a freebie from the Pink Cat Studio from a while ago, coloured with ProMarkers and a touch of Glamour Dust

The following images and papers made by Liz at Pink Petticoat are just brilliant for 10 minute cards, which is usually all the time I have to make DH's cards for him to give to his B&Gs when he DJs at their wedding. He does have all his jobs on a wall planner in the office but I keep forgetting to look LOL
For the first card I've used another lovely sketch by Dawn on the ICS blog -week 25 (I will get last weeks and this weeks made tomorrow and edit this post ;) - I have a few birthday cards to make for the end of July (!) and August)
I've used
Pink Petticoat Elegance paper and the Happy Ever After toppers,

Bazzill cardstock

Flourish is QK Revolution

Sunflower from stash
This next card was made using the latest Di Hickman sketch. I haven't managed to do one of Di's challenges for a while so I enjoyed this one. Please excuse the poor photos but they were take at silly o'clock and I'm a rubbish photographer LOLThis card was made for the Mojo Monday challenge which ended today....I must try to remember to upload my cards when I make them otherwise they sit on my desk top till all I can see are little pictures, then I clear it off!

It's bed time now so I shall come back tomorrow and sort the links.
Take care

Weddings

.......are taking up the majority of my time at the moment (like approximately 16 hours a day) It's a good job I enjoy my work :)

Here are a few of the items that have kept me up over the last couple of months!! LOL

I've used a variety of items but it seems to predominantly QK dies and Nesties :)

Commissioned work

The two boxes below were commissioned by the same customer for TAs at her son's school. There were three layers to each box but as the other two layers were personalised with photos and verses I'm unable to show them.
I was given the colours favoured by the two recipients and as long as I included the photos and verses supplied, I was given a free reign. The customer was very pleased with them. She had also ordered the three 'flower' cards shon last week and she also bought two others before she left :)

The star card/book was my first attempt at this style of card. I'd wanted to do one for a while but kept chickening out of making it LOL. The lady who commissioned it is a very good friend and customer and it was for her husband's 60th. Her brief was......'you know what he likes so it's up to you what you do' I love those sort of commissions :)

This box was the one seen by the lady who ordered the first two on this post at a group both ladies attend. I can go for months and not make any exploding boxes then all of a sudden (like recently) I can make four in four weeks!

This week Deanne says "We are still on our Occasions theme and this week we are setting the very hard task of creating a sympathy/thinking of you creation. I say hard task as well it can be one of the hardest cards we ever have to make".

This is the fourth sympathy card I've made this week as we had Cec's funeral on Tuesday and I made one each for his three kids. It's just a sneaky peek for now, if you want to see the fab DT cards in full you'll have to hop on over to Rosie-Dee's blog and take a look (and hopefully join in too :)).

Cheap as chips!

Holiday Challenge - DewDrop Craftz

"NOW.. for the new challenge.. and a bit of a change..

Due to the small numbers of participants of late I have decided to make the challenges 'month' long challenges. This will give people more time to take part.

The challenge that I am posting today though is going to be running until September 27th to allow for those who are on holiday or those who are soon to be taking a holiday, to have the chance to take part.

The challenge for this period is 'Cheap as Chips'..

To make a card, layout or other creation as cheaply as possible, not counting the card blank!! So.. I would love to see your creations.. and if you wish to join in on this one.. the prize is a bracelet as made and donated, by our very own DT member Jackie,a selection of stamped images in a lovely wallet again, made and donated by Jackie and a small selection of ribbons from myself. So, to be in with a chance of receiving this lovely prize, leave a link to your blog or details of where your creation can be seen in a comment to this post.(as blogged by Nikki - DewDrop)"

I've set the DewDrop challenge this time and as Nikki says, my theme is Cheap as Chips! I want to see what you can come up with for as little 'dosh' as possible........by this I mean using scaps from catalogues/leaflets/paper bags/magazine freebies.....in fact, just have a look at what you are about to put in the bin and see if you can use any of it on your project, upload it and give us a shout so we can come and take a look!

Here's my effort :)My background and topper were cut from the back of the rub on packs above, the bird, felt flower and gem, ribbon and rub on were all freebies from the front of craft mags......so my card has just cost me the card blank :)

This is the bracelet on offer this month
I'm not sure which folder is being offered as I made two but I'm sure it won't be too long before they are on the DewDrop Blog

Passion For ProMarkers

Week #9 already!!! I can't believe that we've had nine challenges already..........time seems to be whizzing past so quickly and I think I may just run out of year!! :)

The colour combination for this week was chosen by Ida and it is......Rose Pink & Lime Green. I used the
Friday Sketchers sketch this week and am rather pleased with the card!
As well as being Cec's funeral today, it's my mum's birthday, definitely a day to remember! We were home from the funeral at about 3ish and at 4.30 we all went for an all you can eat Chinese buffet. There were 10 of us all together so she enjoyed the last part of her day.

Anyway, back to the card. The image is called Eunice, which just happens to be my mum's name :) I found the image a long time ago then last year I managed to track the stamp down to The Glitter Pot as I wanted to use it on her 70th birthday invitations. Technically she is Eunice, Santa's Helper, but I did her for the birthday invitations and mini album last year, she also got her on a Christmas card and now she's on today's birthday card. Each time she has had an appearance on my blog she has had different clothers on lol The edging was done with my newest MS card and everyting else is from my stash!

Happy birthday mum, and Cec, where ever you are..................behave yourself :)
