Rosie-Dee's

challenge this week, in the last of the colour combo month, is to make a card, scrapbook page, altered item or whatever you like but it must be black and white. I chose to make a card as I have three birthdays to make for this week.

paper and Page Frills - Doodlebug
image and sentiment - Debbi Moore
gems - Anita's
butterfly - Martha Stewart
everything else from my stash.

We had a fab weekend weather wise, with yesterday being the better of the two days........it was a scorcher. I sat in the garden and worked. DH decided that he wanted a work place like mine! Their office doesn't have opening windows so the air con is on all the time, the windows are tinted so they never know what the weather is like till they go outside and the coffee machine has been broken all week! Oh, the joys of working from home :)

I had yet another busy week last week. I still have wedding orders coming in and got an email from Debbi's office to see if I could make some Christmas samples ready for the show on Ideal World next week. I really struggle with Christmas before I've been on holiday in August :) but I did manage to get them posted on Friday morning. I then had to strip off my desk and clean it as I had green glitter everywhere LOL!

Must get back to work now as I have 50 invitations to try and get done today. I've also made my DT card for next Sunday so I may be back later with a sneaky peek! Please try to join us for the Sunday challenges.

Take care and tfl. x

Happy Monday!

We had a lovely day out yesterday.........first the Craft Show then a picnic in the warm sunshine. Mum and Dad enjoyed themselves too and loved looking round the classic cars on show (see post below).

This is one Monday that I really like..........first reason is that I won Jo's blog candy and.......ta da...... I made Rosie and Deanne's Design Team How cool is that? I am thrilled to bits, thanks girls I won't let you down :) and on that note, I even did a card for the latest challenge which went up last night which is "we're still on colour combo's and this week we're thinking in Pinks & Limes" A huge congratulations to the others who made the team too :)

My card is also inkeeping with the challenge on Secret Crafter which is This week's challenge has been set by the lovely CLAIRE and she has chosen a colour theme of :- PINK & GREEN Any creation you like as long as it's based around the colours.

Congratulations!

My brother and his girlfriend got engaged during the week so as I wanted the card to be a bit special, I made them an acetate card. I really love using acetate on cards and they are always well received as they are a little bit special. Tina loves angels so I made a little beaded charm to hang on the front of the card.
The sentiment is a rub on by MSE Scalloped card - Ruffles - Craftwork Cards Congrats rub on - Letraset Everything else from stash

Fresh and Funky
These were all made for a display in a local wedding shop who are good enough to advertise my work for me.

The Next Level

Issue 3 is the first sketch challenge for the site Our Challenge of the week is our first sketch at The Next Level. We wanted to give you something that was a little challenging but appealing hopefully to everyone at all levels. The sketch features an arched pocket and inserted into this is a removable tag.

I had a mad dash with some of the challenges yesterday as I realised that I'd made Father's Day cards for my shops but hadn't made any for myself and unfortunately didn't have time to go to either of the shops! This one is for my dad. He was in hospital last week and had an op on his hand so he can't drive. We are going over in the morning to pick them up. Mum and I are going to a craft fayre till 12 then DH is coming to pick us up and we are going to a local stately home for the afternoon. The house has fab gardens to wander round and they are having a classic car show for Father's Day. There will also be a brass band playing on the croquet lawn (!) - the things you do to keep the oldies amused! LOL

I will be back later with some more challenges but this afternoon I need to pot up my tomatoes and strawbs and bake for tomorrow........then I have an Order of Service proof, a couple of samples and some invitations to finish. I must ave been a real bad bu**er in a previous life because there really isn't any peace for the wicked :))

Another combination

This time I have combined the sketch from Sketch and Stash with last week's Papertake Weekly challenge which says "Well our theme is Shoe Time. So anything shoe-ey goes here ie a shoe shaped card, an image, a shoe sentiment, anything at all. Just think Imelda Marcos and away you go!!"

PS I forgot to add that my "new" for this challenge is my new MS embossed scallop border punch which arrived this morning :)

It's the weekend!

If anyone finds the last few days of my week could you please return them? They passed me by in a blur of work and appointments! I even have a bride and groom coming this morning as I couldn't fit them in during the week.

I have managed some challenges though as I needed some Father's Day cards plus a couple of others.

I did the last two sketch challenges on ICS together LOL

Paper is from an old Father's Day kit by Summer Driggs
Everything else is from my stash.

This next card is also for the Colour Create challenge this week which is to choose ANY THREE of the following colours; Strawberry, Raspberry, Kiwi, Tangerine and Blackberry. And now for the optional extra...... we're staying with the fruit theme for this one, so we would like you to incorporate fruits somewhere into your design, be it the papers, the image, the embellishments or the sentiment.
I've used strawberry, tangering and kiwi although my green is a bit darker than a kiwi fruit, it isn't as dark as it looks here!

This is one of my favourite colour combinations (but then I have lots of favourite colour combinations LOL) Anyway, I decided to use the sketch from Friday Sketchers and have a go (not sure why cos I've applied and been turned down for a few recently and decided not to apply any more! :()

Ooh err

This card was made using the sketch dated 6th June so am just a bit late with this one. I made it for Nikki from DewDrop Craftz (don't forget the bookmark challenge is on until this Sunday so you have plenty of time to enter :)) as it was her birthday last weekend but she didn't let on!!

2 sketches

Some of the cards I'm showing at the mo seem to have been on my desk top for ages as I haven't been very active in these parts recently!! I'm definitely suffering from withdrawal symptoms from blog hopping and forum visiting. I say that as though I'm some sort of internet junkie...........I only visit Crafts By Carolyn LOL

I made this card for my best friend's birthday, which was last Tuesday!

Papers are from the yummy Bloom and Grow from MME
Delish butterfly is from the equally delish Mrs Wiseman
Stickles, gems and sentiment from stash
Punched border using an MS punch

Challenge combination

As I was using a digi stamp for this card I decided to enter it for two challenges. The first one is the Passion For ProMarkers colour challenge which this week is Royal Blue and Berry Red and the second is the sketch from the Dies to Die For blog back in May!

'Josh' digi stamp from Sally-Ann's Digistamp Boutique
Papers used are Bazzill Bling and freebies from a mag
Sentiment from same mage freebies
Card Candy from Craftwork Cards
ProMarkers
Nestabilities
MS punch

Page Maps

I've just remembered that I haven't yet blogged the card I made as a contributor for Becky at Page Maps this month. I still keep having a peep at it on her web site :)

I opened my new Bloom and Grow papers to make it and then sent it to a special lady for her birthday. I just added some faux stitching, some Anita's clear gems and some yummy ribbon from Ribbon Oasis.

My workload has lightened slightly this week as I'm waiting for a couple of card and embellishment orders and also seating plan, order of service, place card details before I can continue so I plan to try to catch up with a few challenges where possible and to get to bed before 2 am for a while :)

Back soon.

New challenge

The new challenge was revealed last night on the DewDrop Craftz blog and this time it was my team mate Domi's turn to set it and this is her brief..... A bookmark.. something simple or something exquisite, either way something you could use to save your page in a favourite book or magazine.
I used the School Girl stamp for my bookmark (and coloured her with ProMarkers) and it can be purchased from here My words were stamped using a Studio G alpha set which I won when the (now defunct) Page Plans blog first started. The 's' is missing but I never had the guts to email and tell them, so I'm ok as long as I make sure that my words don't contain the letter s! LOL

We would love it if you could take the time to join us for our little challenge which runs for two weeks, so there is plenty of time. There is also a small prize on offer too.

The sketch I used is Sketch #19 from the Inspirational Card Sketch blog.

Thanks for dropping by :)

Page Maps

How cool is this? The first card here for the June CardMaps is mine and I am chuffed to little mint balls :)) It was the first time that I cut into my new 'Grow' papers from My Minds Eye and I used the card to send to a special lady on her birthday last month.

I shall be back with a picture of the actual card later.

Night night. X

Power Rangers!

I hope everyone is enjoying and making the most of this absolutely fab weather. My mum is coming over to help me today as I have two seating plans, 160 place cards and 25 thank you cards to make (and that's not including the table names and seating plan for DD1's wedding on Saturday), so we will be working outside :) Oh the joy of been self employed and working from home. The only down side is that I struggle to see the lap top screen in the sun but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make LOL I also still have to make my jewellery for Saturday and have loads of bedding plants still to plant!

My nephew is Power Rangers daft at the moment so as he is four on Wednesday I thought I ould make him a Power Rangers pop up card! I used colouring sheets from a couple of internet sites and just resized them. All the images were coloured with ProMarkers in the following colours.

I'm sure he will tell me if I've got the colours all wrong LOL.

I'm off for a peep at the Passion for ProMarkers blog to see if I'm not too late to post this over there :)
