wedding cards

part two! My daughter delivered the wedding card yesterday to the brides mum who was in turn delivering it to her mum (the brides nana who commissioned it) and she liked it so much she asked me to make her one too hence the daughter and son in law on the front. I also had to make one for DD to take with her as she has gone to the evening reception. However, it is still on the back of the chair, where she put it to remind herself to pick it up!!!

Image is by Sally-Ann at The Digistamp Boutique, no DP on this one just more white card punched with a Martha Stewart corner punch, ribbon, rings and gems from stash. I made this card for the Secret Crafter's challenge of no patterned paper and forgot to upload it last night

DD's card I made for the Friday Sketchers challenge for last week and again forgot to upload it last night.....what a muppet lol

No patterned paper on this one either, I just used embossing folders instead but the camera hasn't picked it up. I love this stamp...yet another very old one. I can't remember where I bought it as it is unmounted but I think it might have been from Rubadubadoo. Everything else is from my stash.

Right, I photographed all the work we have done for the Wrap Up A Kiddie so am just about to go and upload it.
See you tomorrow :)

Here comes the bride

I can't believe that I have blogged every day so far this week!! Today it's a wedding card which was commissioned by DD's best friend's nana.......have I got the apostophes in the right place there?

I have had this Stampendous stamp for years and still love it although it doesn't get an airing very often now. So, onto the card: Materials-image as before (stamped twice, glittered with Glamour Dust and decoupaged), flowers - Prima E Line, MS border punch, leaves - Carl punch, Card Candy - Craftwork Cards, papers - Stampin Up, gems, ribbon and lace from my stash.

Now I need to make another wedding card for the same couple as DD is going to the evening reception on Saturday. I'm also making an album for a Ruby Wedding anniversary so need to get on with that.

I wonder how long it will last with me blogging every day. I think it might have been my new year resolution, oops!

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for calling :)

Passion..

For Promarkers are celebrating their first anniversary this week with some fabulous prizes on offer.

"The challenge this week is an easy peasy one for you “anything goes”, so you can make absolutely anything you like as long as you use your promarkers."
I had to make a birthday card last night for DH's niece's birthday this weekend and this is what I came up with

I decided to make her an easel card as I haven't made her one yet and I used a butterfly image is from DewDrop Digiz shop, she has been coloured with Promarkers and 'Glamour Dusted@ to within an inch of her life lol Her wings really sparkle but the camera hasn't picked it up very well! Everything else is from my stash.

I hope you have sunshine wherever you are. Back soon, tfl.

Baby card

This week, the Inspirational Card Sketches challenge blog are being sponsored by

AesaLina owner of Pixie Petals is giving away a "Sweet Sample Pixiepacket" which is available to purchase in her shoppe right now. The fun thing about the "Sweet Sample Pixiepacket" is the winner of this challenge and anyone who purchases it will get to pick the color and styles of embellishments that come in it!

So all you have to do is follow the sketch. It's up to you how you interpret it...flip it, turn it upside down, whatever as long as we can still see the sketch
It's so simple, but very useable and I can see myself using it a lot! Here is my card

The image is another from last week's ICS challenge, Meljen Design. I printed him out twice in two different sizes, coloured it with Promarkers and decoupaged both dogs. Ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and everything else is from my tip of a craft room!!! lol.......Cleaner required, apply within :)

Please join our challenge this week and let us know by leaving a comment so we can come and have a look. and don't forget the Inspiration by my very talented DT mates.

Wedding menus, place cards etc

One of my lovely brides and grooms got married on Sunday and I did all the reception stationery last week for them. Time was so tight with it I worked all night on Thursday and it was one of those jobs where everything goes wrong. You know what I mean? I ordered the wrong card by mistake then the card I wanted was out of stock. I showed the alternative card to my groom and he liked so I went to order more and the supplier had run out of that one too. It should have been delivered last Wednesday morning but was delayed till Friday which meant they could get it to me on Monday!! Anyway, it all turned out alright in the end.....the supplier received a delivery of just enough card for my order and hubby drove down to pick it up......phew!

Orders of service

Place cards
 Table names

 Tri fold menus

 Seating plan
The seating plan has a spray of Swarovski crystal coming from the top of the bottle but the camera hasn't picked them up.
Post box
They certainly picked a fabulous day to get married, the weather was absolutely fabulous. I'm really looking forward to seeing the photos.

Thanks for looking.

Side step card

It's a while since I've had the time to do any challenges properly so I thought I would have a go with the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week. However, I've incorporated last weeks challenge too.......two birds, one stone!! lol
"We thought the perfect title for a challenge with prizes like these was:
BoyZone

and we'd like to see cards for Little Boys or Teenage Boys
(but not "Grown-Up" boys this time!)"
"It's Jo here today with a dare;

A-Bunting We Will Go!

There seems to be an abundance of bunting everywhere at the moment and I expect more will appear soon in honour of the World Cup! I thought that it would be fun this week to add some bunting to our cards..."
My great nephew will be 5 next week so I thought both challenges suited a card for his birthday.

The image is from The Stamping Boutique coloured with Promarkers. The letters and the sentiment are rub ons from Papermania (why is it that some rub ons just don't want to leave the backing sheet and just make a mess on your work?!) Papers are old ones by Doodlebug and the large number 5 was cut by hand.

Time for a moan now...DH went to the supermarket yesterday then on to pick up my parents (cos dad still can't drive following his hip op) as they were coming for lunch. Dad was helping mum into the back of the car when he noticed that some kind *person* has hit our new (to us) car!!! Part of the passenger side rear door handle has been broken off and the door has a small dent in it and paint has been scraped off the wheel arch. We don't actually know when it happened or where but I was in the car for quite a while on Saturday and never noticed it. The most annoying thing is that we've had the damn car for 2 weeks tomorrow!!! Why are these people so rude? What's wrong with sticking a note of apology and contact details under a windscreen wiper if you can't hang around? What give them the right to go round damaging people's property without a care in the world? It happened to the old car too, a couple of weeks after we got that. Someone either caught it with a trolley or caught it when they reversed out of a parking space. We were in B & Q at the time!   It makes my blood boil :(

Rant over now, thanks for looking.

Exploding box

These boxes have proved to be really popular with the teachers and support staff at a local primary school and whenever they have a special occasion they ring me to make one! This one is for one of the teachers, her Grandmother is going to be 90 next month.

The only specification I had for this box was that Grandma's favourite colours are pink and lilac and she likes roses..........I do enjoy making them when they are straight forward lol

Because I have used butterflies and flowers I'm going to enter it into the May challenge over on the Sir Stampalot blog where the challenge is to use "Butterflies and Blossom".

Thanks for looking :)

Wedding stationery and.....

Christening invitations (which I have been making alongside my wedding stationery for the last six years. I feel the need to add that bit as last time I added Christening invitations to my blog, I was accused of copying someone else....a bit rich really, as it turns out!!!) Sorry about that, I just needed to say it.

Anyway onto the Christening invitations

I was really pleased when this order came in as I made mummy and daddy's wedding stationery two years ago. This is the second such order this year :)
and the wedding stationery consists of 36 day invitations with reply cards and 100 evening invitations which are being delivered today.

More of my stationery can be seen here

Right...DT work here I come, then it's an exploding box and a rubbing wedding album!

Have a nice weekend and let's hope the sunshine stays with us.

Wedding cards

I've made an assortment of quick wedding cards for hubby over the last couple of weeks but haven't had time to upload them. They have all been sat on my desk top and it's looking decidedly messy so I thought I would spend a bit of time and upload this weeks work too.
The first one is done 'loosely' from Mrs B's Sketch File

I just turned the sketch on it's side! The image is one of Sally-Ann's from Digistamp Boutique which I've coloured with Promarkers. Everything else is from my stash.
Another of Sally-Ann's images and assortments from my 'bits' box.

and a third image from Sally-Ann plus more from the 'bit' box.

Strawberries & cream!

The Passion For Promarkers this week say "Our challenge this week has been set by Sue and she has chosen ‘strawberries & cream’, which can be interpreted either by using images that include strawberries or just the colour scheme, it’s entirely up to you.  Of course don’t forget you must use your promarkers to be eligible for our prize."

And this is what I came up with

I googled Strawberry Shortcake and came up with dozens of colouring images. I chose this one and coloured her with Promarkers. The strawberry paper was a freebie in a magazine, flowers are Prima and the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis (where else)

I'm having half an hour out now to update my blog fully before I go back to my dt work for the weekend :)

Rosie D's reveal

If someone finds the week I've just lost would you please return it asap? It seems to have disappeared without me knowing and I don't feel as though I've been to bed since last Sunday lol Actually, I did make it to bed.....at twenty five to four this morning *yawn* It's a good job I love my job :)

Saskia is setting our challenges for the month of May over on the Rosie D and for the first part of the month she's chosen to set us the theme of:

So yummy! (Cupcakes / Fruit / Chocolate)

What will you make of Saskia's theme? We can't wait to see!

Here's what I made

The papers and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards, the image is coloured with Promarkers but I can't remember where it came from. If anyone knows could you please let me know so I can give credit where it's due...thank you.

Don't forget that you still have time to take part in our challenge.....oh and Saskia is offering a fabulous prize this month but you'll have to visit Rosie D's blog to find out what it is :)

Perfect timing

Sarah from Passion For Promarkers has set this week's challenge and she has chose the theme of "Gratitude" which can be interpreted any way as long as you use Promarkers. I had a "thanks for being our bridesmaid" card to make and decided that I would use the Mojo Monday sketch too as I haven't joined in any challenges for a while (what with my lousy April and busy working life!!) So onto the sketch

This beautiful little image is a new release from DewDrop Digiz and are by a fabulous artist called Jade. The image is actually a bride but I thought she would look lovely as a bridesmaid as the card is for a teenage bm. She has been coloured with Promarkers (what else) and her wings and bouquet have been glittered using Glamour Dust. The papers used are from the gorgeous Sugar Dumpling range by Blonde Moments I've had these papers forever and came across them this morning whilst looking for something else :) the flowers are Prima, the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards border punch and the gems are from my work box. I used my latest MS to punch the border....I've got a few MS punches now but this one has to be my favourite and it cuts like a dream!

Thanks again for looking, take care

ICS

Challenge #65 is up and running and there is a bit of a twist to Dawn's challenge this week...she has decided to use a colour palette as well as the sketch. We are being sponsored by Kirsty from Some Odd Girl with the winner receiving 3 images. There are some really cute images over there and I sure as heck wouldn't struggle to choose three :) So without further ado....the challenge

This is Kody and he is coloured with Promarkers, papers are K & Co and the brads are by Doodlebug. I did the sentiment on my laptop.

We are all looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Don't forget to leave us a comment so we can come and take a look.

Thanks for looking.

New challenge

Yes folks, it's that time again, we only do a challenge once a fortnight but they seem to come round really quickly...I'm obviously a lot older than I think I am because is disappearing fast lol). There is a new challenge this evening on Rosie-Dee's blog and it's Saskia's turn to set them this month. She has chosen the theme of "So Yummy" for the challenge for the first half of the month then another equally fab challenge for the second challenge of the month (but you'll have to wait for that one :))
Saskia has also donated a fabulous prize for the month of two gorgeous stamps from Cuddly Buddly

and here's a sneaky peek of my card
So don't forget to hop on over to Rosie-Dee's and join us in the new challenge :)

Stamp Something

Well peeps, I am so glad to see the back of April, it has been a rather 'wearing' month for us, what with

  • some kind soul running up the back end of our card (resulting in us having to go out today and buy a new one!),
  • my dad having his hip op and ending up quite poorly
  • my mum and dad moving house and the new one needing decorating from top to bottom and
  • my lap top going belly up on me

So May (and the rest of the year are going to be nice to us lol

This is the first Stamp Something challenge I've done in ages but I needed a card for DH to take to work with him so I decided to use the sketch.
Materials: image-Anita's, papers-Doodlebug and Stampin Up, ribbon-Ribbon Oasis, flowers-Prima and the gems are from my stash.

I've spent most of my evening searching the web for fonts which I've lost with my lap top breaking. I must have spent a fortune buying font!! Of course I can't remember everything I had but a good few of them have now been discontinued :(

Oh well!
Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of the weekend whatever you might be up to.
