Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

The February sketch challenge is now up on Kathy's Sketch File and this month we are treated to two versions of the sketch, a square one and a rectangular one!
This is my first project using the sketch

and here are the sketches.
I used the square sketch for my card but I've already done a lay out using the same sketch and I'm also going to be very brave and try to do a double LO using the rectangular sketch.

Materials used are
Blonde Moments - Sugar Dumpling paper
Pink Petticoat - heart paper
Everything else is from my stock and the papers are from my snippet folders so I'm entering my card into Pixie's Crafty Workshop Snippet challenge

Please join in with us and show us what you can do. Don't forget that you can use the sketches any way round you like and as long as we can see the sketch it will be ok. Leave us a message on Mr Linky and we will come and take a look.

Thanks for looking and we look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Perfect timing

Sarah from Passion For Promarkers has set this week's challenge and she has chose the theme of "Gratitude" which can be interpreted any way as long as you use Promarkers. I had a "thanks for being our bridesmaid" card to make and decided that I would use the Mojo Monday sketch too as I haven't joined in any challenges for a while (what with my lousy April and busy working life!!) So onto the sketch

This beautiful little image is a new release from DewDrop Digiz and are by a fabulous artist called Jade. The image is actually a bride but I thought she would look lovely as a bridesmaid as the card is for a teenage bm. She has been coloured with Promarkers (what else) and her wings and bouquet have been glittered using Glamour Dust. The papers used are from the gorgeous Sugar Dumpling range by Blonde Moments I've had these papers forever and came across them this morning whilst looking for something else :) the flowers are Prima, the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards border punch and the gems are from my work box. I used my latest MS to punch the border....I've got a few MS punches now but this one has to be my favourite and it cuts like a dream!

Thanks again for looking, take care

Alphabet soup!

The DCM challenge from last Friday states This week, the title says it all - I want to see lots of circles, you can decide how you use them, whether it be the shape of your card or how you display circular elements within the design and thats it, nice and simple (I hope :-)). and one of the recent challenges set by Angelnorth on CBC is called All In A Row. As the title says, Joanne would like to see rows of something on the projects and by rows, she means more than three.
Papers are from Blonde Moments and the decoupage image is one I've had on my lap top for years so I'm not actually sure where it came from! Not sure where the ribbon came from either (not doing very well here am I LOL My row and circles, for both challenges, are the SA pearls on either side of the flower brad at the bottom of the card.
My next card also fits both challenges :)
Image is Uplifting Occasions by Penny Black coloured with Promarkers, backing paper is from one of the Basic Grey 6 x 6" pads and the sentiment stamp is another one from Kirsty Wiseman's freebie download. My row this time is the Card Candy from Craftwork Cards and the sentiment circle.

My final card fro now doesn't fit with a challenge but I thought I would show it anyway as all three cards were from DD1's birthday on Monday.

That's it for now, I haven't been idle, I've just been making wedding stationery samples which have been ordered. I have a mountain of cards to make today though so should be able to fit in some challenges.

On to the 'to do' list, it's not looking too bad at the moment!

Cards for DD's birthday on Monday done
Nephew's 21st on Tuesday done
A forum birthday on 10th (same day as mine :)) done
DH's BiL birthday
DH's cousin's birthday
DH's brother's birthday

Wedding stationery samples done
Got my new Debbi Moore design kit this morning so need to get them done too in progress

Seating plan

Take care and tfl :)

Have a break....

have a .......quick card sketch moment! I need a beak from stationery a couple of time a day so usually try to fit a challenge card in, but this time I decided on Kathy's new sketch
Papers are Suet Pudding by Blonde Moments, the large central sticker is from dozens I found in a drawer last week so I thought I would start to do something with them (I haven't used these K & Co stickers for years but used them loads when I first started), the letters were cut using QK Olivia alphabet and the gems are from my stash.

I think I may be becoming a Sketch File groupie LOL!

I found a load of other challenges last night but not sure if I will have time to do any over and above my usual ones............we shall see :)

Papertake Weekly

Dawny's Sketch #8

Yet another card in my quest to conquer the Mother's Day card mountain (in between meetings with brides and grooms as the wedding season is now in (almost) full swing :))

This time I used one of Chris's fabulous downloads that I bought the other night and made the card up to Dawny's sketch.

You will probably notice that I am still in the off cuts box. I tell you, I could probably supply every crafter in the country :) I use a set of map drawers as part of my storage and I have one draw full of off cuts.........I 'decant' them into a box on my table so every so often (or maybe very often LOL) you will see off cuts of really ancient papers. Just look on it as a 'vintage' phase........after all, no one will know apart from us :))

So, the papers used are Luscious Lime by Blonde Moments and Hello Ladies by Kate Teague for Fontworks. Image was coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment was computer generated. Bling is from my stash.

Stamp Something

The sketch added for 19th December was perfect for the extra Christmas card I wanted to make for my mum.
This is 'Eunice-Santa's Helper' by Art Impressions. My mum is called Eunice so I couldn't resist using the stamp. I bought the stamp to make her 70th birthday invitations but coloured her lilac so I really felt I had to use the stamp for the purpose it was made.......a Christmas card, LOL I couloured her with Stardust pens by Sakura, the papers are Figgy Pudding and Blonde Moments, the ribbon was from Ribbon Oasis, the flower is Prima and the flower centre is a Vintage Berry from Craftwork Cards..

Sassy Crafts DT call

Emma at Sassy Crafts is looking to set up a new design team so I thought I would give it a try in light of my happy news yesterday! Here is the challenge she set:
Okay........... Here's the first search for a DT challenge.I would like to see 3 projects:

1 - A Stamped project, this doesn't have to be coloured in image, it could just be accent stamps such as swirls, sentiments etc (this can be previous work)

2 - Your favourite piece of work you have made to date (previous work)

3 - A project that contains 4 squares, 3 small and 1 large ( I was going to give you a sketch which contained these elements but decided to leave the layout to you!) (new work only).
and here is my work
My favourite piece (at the moment-tomorrow it may change as most of my LOs are my faves!:))

I used Suet Dumpling paper from Blonde Moments and I think the other one is from one of the Crate Paper collections, it might be Avenue. Flowers are Papermania and I think everything else was from a Doodlebug kit.

I love this image and use the stamp quite a bit. So.... Penny Black Uplifting Occasions stamp, Prima flowers, Papermania pearl brad, the pink card has been Cuttlebugged using the Divine Swirls folder and the ribbon is from my stash.

And finally, my card using 3 small squares and 1 large square.

This card looks a really strange colour combination now I've uploaded it but it is actually pale green, burgundy and gold! The green card was 'bugged using the Swiss Dots folder and the small burgundy square were cut from a piece which I embossed using the new Christmas Ornaments folder. The trees were cut out using an XCut punch and the ribbon is again from my stash.

Wish me luck please!

Time flies!!!

I just can't believe that this week has passed so quickly! I must be getting really old as they say that time passes quicker as you get older. LOL

Down to the promised piccies of mum and dad's 'do'. They had a fabulous time and everything went swimmingly well. Dad got quite emotional when he saw us all coming down the aisle and again at the end of the service when the piper walked in playing (he thought the music "Flower of Scotland" was on cd!!) It was definitely worth all the long hours and sleepless nights to see the sheer enjoyment on their faces.
Sis, Mum, Brother and me! Michael Gordon (the piper), Mum and Dad Me, Michael, Mum, Dad, Sis and Brother

So now onto work! I have been working on another wedding order this week as well as finishing two and sending them out. I also had five cards ordered yesterday and I managed to ................(I hope you're sitting down at this point LOL) complete a challenge over on the Just Bex forum! The challenge was another one of Sue's templates (I just love these, they make my life so much easier)

Here are my efforts (I actually made more than one of these), the first being a Christmas card

Papers are by K & Ko and Blonde Moments and the stamp is by Rubber Stampede and is one of the first stamps I ever bought. The image is simply coloured with water colour pencils.

The next one is a thank you card to the vicar who performed last Saturday's service, from Mum and Dad. Papers are again by K & Co. Tag is from Crafts by Carolyn and the star brad was from my tub.

And the inside

I'm quite pleased with this, it's my first ever pop up card.
Yesterday I was asked for two congrats cards for the same girl who had passed her driving test and here are what I came up with
The next cards were another order which came in yesterday and one of them fits (sort of) Sue's template again.
Papers again by K & Co, can you tell I still love these pads?! Flowers are a mix of Papermania and Prima and the lovely pearl brad is by Papermania. I do like these brads at the mo. The second anniversary card is for the same person.

And that is it for now. Hopefully this week I might just manage a couple more challenges but don't hold your breath! Tomorrow I hope to finish the current order. All the seperate elements are done, I'm just in the process of putting them all together.
I'm also going to add a couple of new blog links to my side panel. These are blogs of ver talented people whose blogs I try to visit regularly.
I almost forgot, I was tagged the other day by Louly. I think this is the same one I did ages ago. Please be patient with me, I can't be bothered to go back and look what I put last time ;) If you haven't done it and would like to be tagged, then please feel free.

Here are the rules :1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3.
