Pick of the Day

Just take a look at the new kit from Kanban Crafts being show cased on Ideal World at 9.00 pm with Kathryn :)

Also, Kanban Crafts are opening a new retail arm of the business called 'CRAFTED by YOU'  and they will be show cased at the NEC in Birmingham (on stand C16) on 8th Nov.

Another bit of news is that I have been invited to stay on the Kanban UK design team and was chuffed to little mint balls to be asked. Oh and I did say yes :)

A Card A Day

Bad girl me had my cards ready before 10 o'clock yesterday, ready to upload onto here and the a Card a Day Facebook page and then it all went down hill. I got bogged down with work and finished a couple of orders then a very special friend came and I sat and chatted all afternoon which was lovely as she usually dashes in and dashes out. Due to family issues and holidays it's about two months since we last saw each other and then time just ran away with me.

The cards I made were for the new baby who arrived into hubby's family on Saturday morning.

All papers and image are from Nitwits. I can't show the second card as it's for one of my DTs.

I need to get back to my wedding order now as it is almost finished :) and I need to catch up with a load of blogging comments, oh and I need to add a load of stuff we are selling to one of the FB selling sites.

Back soon, thanks for calling. :)

Happy Birthday, Son

Good morning all, I hope you haven't been too confused by the clocks going back.....I forgot to set my watch so I was out of bed at 8.30, which doesn't sound too bad but it was actually 7.30! On a Sunday morning! The only time I'm up at that time on a Sunday is when I do a wedding fayre lol

My son's birthday cards as promised,

No new papers were harmed in the making of these cards, the papers are all from my "leftovers box".
Ingredients on the first card are the image is from Lil of the Valley and the sentiments are from Craftwork Cards

On the second card, the image is again a precoloured image from Lili of the Valley(see link above) and the spotty paper is by Craftwork cards. The buttons and twine are from my stash.

The sentiment and paper on the bottom card is a mag freebie by Pink Petticoat and the card candy is from Craftwork Cards

As I also said yesterday it is my turn to add my 'makes' to the Get Funky! challenge today. The challenge is set by Amanda and this is her brief

"Christmas is all about the kids
so that's what I am setting for this month's theme.
Anything Christmassy for a child.  It can be anything you want........a card, a gift, a layout, a decoration ~ whatever your imagination can come up with."
I made a gift bag from a brown envelope and card and I will be adding a tutorial to my blog for the gift bag (they are so simple to make).
Don't forget to check out Kathy's new Facebook page, a Card a Dayyou are all invited to join us.
Back soon and thanks for dropping by.

A card a day

Kathy's new group on Facebook :) Do you feel like making a card every day and better still, blogging it, then come over and join us. It's early days yet but it looks as though it could be good fun :)

I've ,made a few cards between yesterday and today so I will add those. It's my son's birthday today, he's 24, Happy birthday Dan. We had some lovely news this morning, DH's cousin's girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy this morning weighing 8lb something :) They have another son who is about 15 months old....what you might call a hand full. Julie has two older children so I'm sure they will help with the little ones.

I will now add the cards I made this morning and tomorrow I will blog the cards I made yesterday (are you still with me? :)) and it's my turn to blog the Get Funky challenge and add my projects. I might do a little tutorial to go with it.

I still need to put a sentiment onto the second card. Images are by Pink Petticoat and Lili of the Valley.

Ok, I will be back in the morning. Take care and tfl xx

Funky Friday

Our super friend and team mate (Kathy's Waffle) has started a Facebook page just for us lazy so and so's who start out blogging with all good intentions but then it drops off without us realising it BUT (and in my case it's a big butt ;)) you have to make a card too :) Here are the details in Kathy's own words

"I've just started a Facebook group called "a Card a Day" and I'm hoping that lots of fellow-card makers will use it as a virtual "prod" to get those cards made - it's an "open" group so anyone can join in, and enlist their friends too. I'm hoping it will encourage us all to use our own blogs more and to visit and leave a message on each others' blogs too - Just a "hello" to say you were there if time is short. We all need and appreciate knowing we're not just talking to ourselves, don't we?Hopefully this will help with all that Christmas card making - and any other cards too so please come along and join us. If you're not on FB you can still join in by leaving a comment on Kathy's blog and she will post a link to your blog on the FB page for you
Of course, a little bit of cheating is allowed - so making a few cards on one day and then sharing one at a time is perfectly acceptable...;)"

So here are my 'Funky Friday' and my 'Card a Day' makes
This card is made using left over paper from the "October Freebie" from Anice at Funky Hand for anyone who would love to take part in the Get Funky challenge but doesn't own any Funky Hand products. The sentiment is from Twelve Crafters Crafting and the tree is a Memory Box die.
Papers from Traditional Ole Xmas by Funky Hand. This paper hasn't been released yet but most of the other new papers and digi stamps are now available on the Funky Hand web site
You should really take a look at the papers, they are seriously gorgeous :)

I made the bottom card using the sketch from Mojo Monday
I can also add them to Di Snippets
and Sarn's Penultimate Rudolf day

I now need to go and make my son's birthday cards, it's his birthday tomorrow (the sign of a true crafter lol )

Thanks for looking.

Kanban Thursday

Well, Thursday has jumped up and hit me again without me realising it so it's KB Thursday again already. I had my DT with Emma nice and early this week (pats me on the head lol) and plan to do the same again this week instead of rushing them on Sunday! I'm really looking forward to making my DT cards this week as I'm going to break out my new "Thinking of you" kit which arrived on Tuesday and all I've had time to do with it so far is take it out of the box.

What's on your work desk Wednesday....

is here again folks! I can't believe I haven't blogged since Friday..and I was doing so well and managing to post every day (I think) :) Not to worry. I've had a busy start to the week, I don't seem to have stopped but also I don't seem to have achieved much. I do have some cards to show thou as well as my scruffy room. It took me all afternoon today to tidy it up (again). I had only made five cards and totally destroyed the room again. I did keep a tiny space to work in again though. I'm onto samples and a stationery order again this week so it should stay relatively tidy as all my bits are neatly placed in a basket so I won't need to half empty every box I own lol

So now I will reveal my devastation :)

And here is one of the cards which caused such chaos lol (I'll add the rest later.)
I'm off to bed now, thanks for looking and I will be back later to start hopping around the blog world. Should you want to join in with us please take a look at The Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

PS I forgot to say that I will be submitting this to the Daring Cardmakers challenge for this week as their theme is
'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
I'd like you to make a card / project containing some 'happy', whether you choose a sentiment such as Happy Birthday or Happy Christmas, or a card that has a happy theme to it!

Funky Friday

So that's another week drawing to a close and another step towards the end of the year! Tomorrow sees me in wedding mode again and I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon so I thought I had better write this post now or else I will forget :) I'm afraid it's going to be another short one too as my bed is shouting very loudly at me now :)
Stylish Tree
Stylish Tree
Is It Christmas?

I'm going to make another one of these little baskets and stand them on the table at my Christmas fayre will reindeer food or something in them, I think it's rather cute.

That's it for now, but I will pop back tomorrow. I haven't forgotten the WOYWW either :)

Kanban Thursday

Hi everyone, I cannot believe that it is six weeks since we came back from Zakynthos...it doesn't seem five minutes since we were looking forward to going!! It's just over 300 days till we go back again so I suppose that will be upon us before we know it lol.

This week's cards are done and sent in so I can add them to my blog and this afternoon I'm going to make my cards for next week as I'm in full Christmas mode at the mo and there are a few things I would like to make for a Christmas fayre I'll be doing next month.

What's on your work desk Wednesday?

Mine is a tip as usual. Why is it that I can spend all day tidying my craft room and sorting everything out yet I sit down to make a couple of cards and within 10 minutes it looks like this

The pile on the left hand side is all work in progress, (with a basket of card scraps thrown in) and is all Christmas cards lol

So, I've shown you my desk , now it's your turn to show us yours :) If you're not sure what I'm talking about then check out Julia's blog, Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

Have a lovely day, back soon.

Winter Wonderland

Yet another collection from the upcoming Christmas down loads from Funky Hand I really can't wait for you to see this collection. The colours are just so rich that a computer screen doesn't do them justice at all, they are such a lovely shade of blue.
My first card is a gatefold card

There we go, I hope you like them :)

Thanks for dropping by, see you tomorrow xx

Last minute Lizzie...

again! This happened last night too. I got so wrapped up in making a couple of DT cards I didn't realise what time it was so we have yet another quickie blog post to beat the midnight curfew lol I've got a couple more Funky Hand DT cards to show from the new down loads which are about to be released.

These are both from the Presents Wrapped collection of scrumminous (is that a word? It is now :)) The new collections are all just fabulous, totally up to the minute, or should I say that they are bang on trend.  :)

Right, that's it now, time for bed. Please don't forget to take a look at the Get Funky! blog as the new challenge goes live in the morning.

Thanks for looking. x

Just a quickie.....

as I am still in wedding fayre mode and getting on really well instead of having to rush everything on the Saturday like I usually do. I've not got much more to do now. One of my jobs though will involve sitting on the floor and surrounding myself with favours. I'm dressing the tables at the wedding fayre and just need to make sure that I have enough favours to go on each table along with place cards, table numbers/names and or menus.

It was my mum and dad's 55th wedding anniversary and this is the card I made them...

These little toppers from Lili OF The Valley are really good for when you are in a rush although I keep forgetting I have them lol, Craftwork Cards sentiment and Memory Box heart die cut.

Must dash, I will be back tomorrow with photos from the wedding fayre.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for dropping by :)

Funky Friday

Crikey what a day...I worked really had today and got to where I wanted to be so I could break off to watch a bit of telly this evening, I came in here at about 9.15 pm to upload this post as I kept forgetting during the day but then got distracted by something else then Alan Carr came on. I might just get this done in the remainder of Friday (unlike last week when it went just past midnight so I missed Friday all together)

I hope all our 'friends' in Scotland are ok in that horrible weather. xx

My card this week is using the Kathy's Waffle Sketchfile sketch and one of the fantastic new downloads which will make up the Oh Come All Ye Crafters series from Funky Hand and they are just fab. I will be uploading more over the weekend but you will have to watch this space for the release date. We have been given six more than are on the web site at the mo so that we can have a play and believe me, you won't be disappointed :)

The papers for this card is from "Make A List, " The image is separate but they are still Funky Hand images which are new for this year. Everything apart from the pearls on this card are from Funky Hand, even the piece of ribbon which is the last of the ribbon we were sent about 18 months ago, I kept losing it, but at least now it has been used!
I actually love the way the box has turned out. They were made using a set of templates I bought a couple of weeks ago by a very talented crafter (and Kanban teamie) named Emma Goddard from Emma's Cards Uk and the papers from above.

Right, that's it for now. I will be back over the weekend with more from the new downloads.

Take care and thanks for dropping by :) x

Thursday again, where is the time going?  :) It seems a long time ago when I made this card and photographed it in the lovely sunshine but it was only last Saturday!! It's lovely seeing sun and sea as I've been up to my armpits in Christmas cards. There may be a few more Christmas DT cards creeping in now as I really need to get my box filled up ready for the onslaught (fingers crossed lol)

Thanks for looking xx

What's on your work desk?

If you are not of a nosey disposition then please look away now. If you are however, and of a crafty disposition you will be interested in what this post is about :)

Every week crafters, and probably non crafters from around the world congregate on the blog of Julia's Stamping Ground to see what is happening, if anything on the work desks. It is brilliant to see different styles of work and ideas from all over the world, oh and some of the craft rooms are to die for :). If you are still not sure what I'm waffling about then please hop over to Julia's blog and take a look. Here's my desk....

I've just added the jewellery onto my Party Nights FB page as it's being sold from there while we get my web site back up to scratch, and was doing a quick stock take before putting them away so I could get some more out for photographing.

Thanks for dropping by and I'll probably see you all next week. :)

Happy Tuesday

The sun is shining and my to do list is shortening :) It has, however taken me all day to add some jewellery to my Facebook page, upload my first bits for sale on my blog selling page and make my card for the Penny Black @ Allsorts challenge and the Penny Black Saturday challenge which this month is a sketch (which I flipped onto it's side to make my card :)).

I haven't done either of these challenges for a while but as I said a few posts ago, I've given myself a kick up the bum and am trying to get back in line with my challenges again as I've always enjoyed doing them.

This is another one that I will be adding to Di's Snippet challenge as the papers came out of my C*******s box (which came down off the top of the book case the other day!) The big piece of pale blue is from a My Mind's Eye Christmas range from a couple of years ago. Note to self...it's ok saying I'm going to add my cards to Di's challenge but I must actually remember to add them to Mr Linky lol

Do you like my big sparkly snowflake die cut? They might appear loads this year. I've had the Marianne Designs snowflake dies for at least a year but this year I was messing with a pack of pastel glitter card and cut a few in different colours....they are lovely.

Thanks for looking :)

It's Christmas again!!

This time I've made my card to enter into a couple of challenges

Well, three to be precise

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes plus blog hop - Happy 5th Birthday!

Di's Snippet challenge - my tree is stamped on a piece of card from my snippet draw

Less Is More - Silver

The stamps used are from the same set by Wild Rose Studios and they are available at Handy Hippo

It's only Monday and how many times have I blogged today? And I've cleaned the house, done the ironing (well most of it!), sorted the stuff to go in the Kids Company box and have started uploading my stuff for sale :)

Back tomorrow, take care and thanks for looking. xx

It's Christmaaaas!

Every time I hear my post title, no matter where I am, I hear Noddy Holder!!

I made an extra card on Friday when I was making my Kanban DT cards and my Christmas kit was closest to me :) This kit is just so cute, see for yourself.......

Materials used:

Cream card
900726 Santa Cutie toppers
900727 Christmas Cuties toppers
900731 Kraft stars Foiled b/g
Die cut Snowflakes
Tartan ribbon

I hope you like my card. It was lovely and sunny on Saturday when I took the photos of my DT cards so I put the white down to look like snow lol

I have a huge to do list already for this week and so far I have to

Clean the house (I have vacuumed so far):

Ironing
DT samples
Birthday cards
List items on Freecycle
List items for sale on a FB page (not sure what is available yet as I'm new to selling on FB!)
List jewellery for sale on my Party Nights Creations page
Make invitation samples to be sent out to some lovely couples
Make sample table stationery for set up at a wedding fayre on Sunday
Pack box ready to send to the Kids Company
Finish my accounts (I only have a couple of things to add to it and I'm done but I keep forgetting)

I'm going to stop there, I'm making myself feel dizzy :)

Take care, back soon xx

 One of Dawn's sample cards

Oops I did it again!!....

......"What?" you may ask yourself. I forgot to blog Friday's "Funky Friday" card!! I meant to do it on Thursday night before I went to bed but I was too tired so I thought I would do it on Friday morning before I started work but it didn't quite go to plan. I didn't put my lap top on as I needed to tidy my desk as I had an appointment on Saturday morning with a bride and groom. Well one thing led to another and I ended up doing the whole room, chucking stuff out, boxing stuff up to sell and generally reorganizing. I started at 7.30 am and it was 8.00 pm when I packed in. I switched on the lap top yesterday morning to check my emails only to find one from my bride postponing the visit as she was ill lol, they are coming this week instead. Now I can't find anything....I had a brand new tub of white Flower Soft yesterday to go with a load I want to sell, now I can't blooming find it :(

So onto my card for this week

The papers are from "You're Engaged" and the image is from the Workspace on the Wishes and Kisses cd. The butterfly and corner flourish are cut using my newest dies by Memory Box and I finished it with a piece of Spider's Web by Kanban.

Have you taken a look at the Get Funky Challenge yet this month? The challenge has been chosen by Lou and she has chosen Word Books as her theme. If you have any of the Paper Factory cds from Funky Hand then you will be spoiled for choice with the amount of wordbook pages which can be created but if you haven't got any of the cds then you will find a taster on the Funky Hand web site. There are also several stand alone Word Books in the download section of the web site and lots of inspiration on both the web site and the blog.

Thanks for looking :)
Back soon.

Daring Cardmakers

It's ages since I last entered a Daring Cardmaker's Challenge so I thought I would make the effort last night. I need to fill a basket urgently as I've been asked to supply a nail and beauty salon in town and I'm a bit short in some categories. I've been making cards for the soldiers and airmen in war zones in between jobs and have neglected my own stock, just making as I need them.
The papers are a recent download from Pink Petticoat entitled Chevrons, the image is from the Big Fella collection and the sentiment is from the Sentiment Ribbons collection and the Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards

Thanks for looking :)

What's on your work desk......

Wednesday? I haven't played along with the girls and boys over at Julia's Stamping Ground for weeks now, in fact it might even be months so I thought I would get my butt into gear and join in again. I will be able to visit the other blogs in between jobs as I don't have any appointments today (unless you class the ironing as an appointment LOL) I must say that I'm pleased it's only the desk I've shown today and not the rest of my work space. I'm sorting out stuff I don't want or bought and never used with a view to selling them and it's just everywhere at the mo. I also need to rearrange my Ikea cube display as it's not working for me at the moment :(

I've even managed to show sunshine today :) I'll be back to catch up in a while but right now the ironing beckons :)
