Kanban Thursday
Well that's another week which as flown out of my life all too quickly! Time isn't slowing down as I asked at the beginning of the year so I think I will just have to learn to work faster lol Our internet went down at about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and it didn't come back on until about 11 last night so I got my Kanban DT cards ready for next week.
There is great excitement at Kanban towers and with this excitement in mind I made a further Kanban card. On the 4th March we are launching our new challenge over on the Kanban blog. It will be a monthly challenge with a chance for all who enter to win some Kanban goodies :) All the details will be posted on the Kanban blog so please trundle over and take a look :)
Ok, onto my cards

Happy birthday
to you, happy birthday to you.........I got to make a birthday card today, as if you didn't notice!!! It seems such a long time ago since I made anything that wasn't "Christmas" . :)
The backing paper with the butterflies is Kanban CRD1506 - Butterflies on Driftwood, the frame is a Spellbinders die but I can't remember which one, the rubber stamped flower frame is one I bought off someone years ago and have never had any details for it but I can say that I stamped it three times and decoupaged it. Everything else is from my stash.
Thanks for looking :)

Funky Friday
Good morning and welcome to another Funky Friday. There has been plenty going on this week in Scruff's Corner, lots of cards made and blogger and Facebook problems. Oh and we have been kicked up the butt and have finally started the web site revamp so as you see, it's busy, busy, busy! However, it does mean that I have actually caught up with the other girls on
a Card a Day Blogging
I have last week's Funky Friday to show as well as the card I made for this week (which was actually made on Tuesday just in case time wasn't my friend again :)) Instead of making a card, I made some tags and I'm going to parcel them up in bags of 6 I think for the craft fayres. The backs of the tags are blank.
All of the papers and images (the gorgeous robot is from the Craft The Year Away cd) are from my Funky Hand scrap folder. The buttons are from my vast collection :)
Please don't forget to have a look at the Get Funky! challenge for this month. It runs until the 14th November and there is a prize of a download of your choice but you have to use a Funky Hand product to be in with a chance. If you don't own anything from Funky Hand then don't worry, every month Anice creates a freebie paper for you to use.
As I've used a load of snippets all week (go me!!) I'm going to scare the living daylights out of Di and sneak into the Snippet Challenge playground again :) xx
Thanks for looking :).

Kanban Thursday
Hi everyone, I cannot believe that it is six weeks since we came back from Zakynthos...it doesn't seem five minutes since we were looking forward to going!! It's just over 300 days till we go back again so I suppose that will be upon us before we know it lol.
This week's cards are done and sent in so I can add them to my blog and this afternoon I'm going to make my cards for next week as I'm in full Christmas mode at the mo and there are a few things I would like to make for a Christmas fayre I'll be doing next month.

Funky Friday
Can't live with it, can't live without it....I'm talking about the blooming internet. I have loads to do at the moment and what happens? Our blooming internet died on me yesterday lunch time. Hubby tried ringing them when he got in to find out if there was a problem and finally after 4 hours he got a person on the end of the phone. He went through all the technical stuff, you know, "switch the router off and back on again, has that worked mate?" then after 15 minutes he concludes that there isn't a fault at their end and he needs to get an engineer out to us but the earliest he can come is Saturday at 12 noon!!!! Late yesterday evening I texted my daughter to ask her to put a note on my Facebook page only to find out that their internet is off as is half of their street.....but there isn't a fault registered. Anyway, we got up this morning and miraculously, it had come back on. It has dropped out a few times today but not for long.
So onto my Funky Friday card :) Did you see the zingy free paper Anice made for this month's challenge? Well although I didn't use it on my Get Funky! cards (I thought it was a bit too funky for my dad lol) I decided to use it on my card for today.

Flippin' men!
Although I have quite a few of these sheets left I tend to forget I have them and don't use them very often. My friend mentioned the other day that it was the 60th birthday this week of the caretaker down at the school I used to work at. I don't usually send him a birthday card but I thought of this image as soon as she mentioned it :)

Passion
For Promarkers have 'pink birthdays' as their theme for this week and it just so happened that yesterday was the birthday of a very special friend of mine and I made her a pink card. I bought a kit from Create and Craft a couple of months ago, this being the first I've ever bought and is probably be the last. The quality of the card is lovely, as are the colours but I just can't get my head round using a kit...I feel a bit of a fraud lol This is what was in the kit, note that there are no envelopes!!!
My chocolate and strawberry cake image is from Sassy Cheryl and is coloured with Promarkers, the verse is one I've had for ages, the flowers are Prima, sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the ribbon and gems are from my stash. I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge the 'support bar' at the bottom. Annette liked it and the little gift card with her prezzie :)
Thanks for looking, back soon.

Passion For ProMarkers
I seem to be late with a few challenges again which isn't unusual for as I spend half my life chasing my tail :)) This card is a prime example of that.......I've combined two sketches, Passion For ProMarkers and Friday Sketchers so as you will guess, I'm still in time for the ProMarker challenge but a day late with the sketch LOL

Materials: assorted papers from 'oddments' box, Penny Black image, ProMarkers, flower-Papermania, sentiment - The Cutting Cafe, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, brad - DoodlebugThursday, March 26, 2009
Saved the best...
......till last!
Just look what I got in the post yesterday :)
.....a fabby birthday from the wonderful Terrie Bailey, you can check out her gorgeousness here. The card can also be seen in all it's glory on the Patti Picklicious blog :) Kirsty left me a comment this morning and made my day. She said "oooh you got the first patti card - you is majorly uber famous now!" How good is that!
I really must go and sort tea now and get some more work done. I have done some this morning but I've been adding my cards to my blog since about 2.30 *oops* :)
Take care and TFL

Sketch Saturday
Hello Everyone......... Surprise!!Didn't expect to see a new post this week did you?
I do hope that you are all well & happy, and have everything that you hoped for.
Did Santa, leave you some craft stash in your stocking? ;)
Just incase there are some of you who are itching to try out your new craft goodies, then this week is for you ;)This week is your choice!
I know some of you look forward to seeing a new sketch here each week, and that you don't like to miss a sketch, so I decided to let you choose the sketch that you liked the most from the last 30 weeks. That way, you won't miss a sketch because there isn't a new one this week to miss!
It will be interesting to see if there's a sketch which is the most popular with you all, or if there will be a mixed bag of your favourites.Don't forget to tell me what sketch you used! ;)

As I haven't been doing this challenge very long I thought I would go right back to the beginning and do sketch #1 and found that it leant itself perfectly to the card I had in mind using the above image, a la Clarice Cliff.I used a stamp that I bought a long time ago from Rubbadubbadoo and coloured it with Prisma pencils, the papers are again from my left overs box - the top one is by Brenda Pinnick and the striped paper is from Pink Petticoat (and is actually green!), ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis the flowers are Prima, the sentiment is a See D stamp and the spotty brad is from my stash.

Woo Hoo!!
I have finished my brother's album. It's the first scrapbook I've ever done and I'm chuffed to little mint balls with myself :) I've done odd pages before but never a full book! I'm now going to bore you with the rest of the pics ;)

Now I just have his birthday cards to make and he is done LOL I think my mojo may be in the process of deserting me as I'm having a problem thinking what to do for him! I've a couple of urgent commissions too...........I could be gone a while ;)

Finally.........
I've got half an hour to update my blog!
This was ordered by my friend Sue and her brief was just that...........brief!! A 'special' wedding anniversary card for Rob (her husband) and an equally special card for their son's birthday. I decided on the acetate card for Rob and the 'Lynne influence' is in the stitching, embossing and inking on the front (nowhere near Lynne's talent though). I ran some blue card through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug folder and cut the hearts with one of the large Sizzix heart dies, I think it was #2. One was cut in dark blue and one in light blue and I just layered them one on top of the other and mounted them on the card. The acetate is from Joanna Sheen.
This was a card lift from one, made for a challenge, by the lovely Sue and this is it. Cute eh?

Papers are a mix of Papermania, English Paper Company (who sadly are no more), ribbons are from Ribbon Oasis and the bits and pieces are from my many craft boxes.
The orange and yellow papers represent the Spanish flag and the rest is self explanatory. The glasses are silver mirri card. Becky's badge is die cut 30 on a small red circle and covered with Glossy Accents.Friday, October 12, 2007
Wild thing!
Now please don't faint but I have actually done a DCM challenge on the day it was set! It was Kathy's turn today to set the challenge and here is what she had to say
Hellooooo, Kathy here to set you a really Beastly dare this week! The theme is ANIMAL and you can use anything that's animal inspired - not those diddy little ones like bugs, birds and butterflies (though you can include them in your design of course) but what I'd really like to see is bigger, wilder, more fabulous or fantastic creatures So you could maybe use animal die cuts, animal prints on paper or fabric, or maybe animal words or phrases "grrrrr get down tiger"!!!! You could invent your own wild and wonderful beasties, or go back in time for dinosaurs, or into the world of mythology for all sorts of incredible creatures. How about a card in the shape of a tiger, elephant or monkey? Now, there's a challenge for you.... I'd love you to all go really wild over this one and have loads of beastly fun
Now I seem to be lacking greatly in ferocious beasts so had to make do with a dinosaur, albeit a man eating one! and here is my card
I think this may be a loose interpretation of one of Sue's old SWOT templates (see Sue I DO like them LOL). Papers used are K & Co as usual, Dino the man eating dinosaur is a Sizzix die cut which I received ages ago in a RAK, brads are Doodlebug and the dotty ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis
I also made a quick birthday card for hubby to take up to the Hotel tonight as he is dj'ing. They never tell him whether the party is for a male of female birthday so it makes it a little awkward when making a card, but hey ho, that's life LOL.
Today is Mum and Dad's official 50th wedding anniversary and they called this morning for a 'loo and tea' break on their way up to the Lake District for the 'second honeymoon' which we booked for them as their pressie. Actually, it is really their first as they couldn't afford one when they got married! I don't know about a honeymoon, I think they deserve medals for staying married for that long :) I admire them greatly and they are fabulous role models!
I am supposed to be sorting out my album (removing discontinued stationery and adding new ones) as I have another wedding fayre on Sunday. Can you tell that I can't get motivated? I think I might just go and make a cup of coffee. :)
Take care. xx

Ribbit ribbit
Just a quick blog from me today as I have been gardening all day and my poor body doesn't belong to me!
Backing card embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder, 'ric rac' is Paper Frills by Doodlebug and the frog etc were cut from felt using the Sizzix die. I also did a matching notebook as requested and covered the notebook in felt before I added the die cuts.
Felt covered notebook and die cuts as before.
Off to bed now.
Take care. xx
