Wedding stationery

..............of sorts! Not quite the stationery but the seating plan, place cards, table names and guest book. I think they turned out quite well :) This is one of the reasons I love my job so much, no two jobs are ever the same.

The darker colour on these is the most beautiful shade of navy blue and it almost changes colours with movement. It can be found here and is called Kings Blue..........it is stunning! Die cuts are Quickutz and Cuttlebug.

So Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are all done. I also made a sample wedding invitation and a sample save the date card. I haven't managed any scrapping yet but I am about to start a mini book for my mum using the photos from her party. Tomorrow I shall make a start on tidying my room before I have my facial and carry on when I get back. I will find out tomorrow evening if I have to do the save the date order this weekend which is fine as DH is working. On Saturday morning, straight after my pedicure, I have an appointment re a christening album and guest book then I suppose I should really think about starting to pack! Sunday we are at mum and dad's for lunch and then....................nothing till 2pm on Monday when the taxi comes to take us to the station for the train to whisk us off to Manchester airport. We fly at 6.45 am on Tuesday and should arrive in Zakynthos (Zante) at lunch time then two weeks of reading, swimming, the odd walk, the odd massage and very little else :)

Take care and thanks for looking.

Almost done

My list is shorten really fast at the moment so I shall also add this week's, it is full to the brim as usual! :)

Left on the list are:-
another breast cancer awareness phone charm done
finish my samples for Debbi Moore done (I can't show these until Debbi gives me the nod)

Seating plan, 10 table names and 80 place cards in progress and will hopefully be finished tomorrow!

three birthday cards and a bracelet as a b'day pressie Done (I can only show one at the mo as the other two are for forum birthdays)

And finally a challenge card - hooray. I made a card for MiL to say thank you for all her help last weekend, I couldn't have done it without her.

This card fits the DCM Dare for this week which is set by Rhi

NOW ! - on to this weeks dare - we have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

I have used K & Co Somerset paper (as that is where the card is going :)) Flowers are Prima, brads are Doodlebug and the little bird stamp, I think, is by Rhonna Farrer.

Now onto this weeks list

Monday

finish wedding order, take DD to the dentist then a Chinese buffet for tea

Tuesday and Wednesday

both free but I want to try and do a bit of scrapbooking

Thursday

Hair cut and coloured

Friday

Facial

Saturday

Pedicure

It's going to be hell but someone has to do it :)

Enjoy your Sunday and this fab weather.

Happy Birthday Mum...

.....slightly late but never mind! Mum's birthday was the 21st but we had the party on the 20th and she loved every minute of it. When she arrived she thought we were just having a family bbq as Matthew's mum was up from Somerset for the weekend then she saw the other 18 people in our garden :) Her face was a picture and all day she just kept saying "is all this really for me". It made all the late nights and the hard work worthwhile!

Here are mum and dad making their entrance (the big fat lump with them is me!) I handed them both a glass of bubbly and hubby had set up the cd player to play Happy Birthday.

The marquee as we were setting up (we borrowed the large white one from a friend and put our gazebo on the end)

We managed to seat 21 at tables without having to borrow any furniture! We didn't realise that we had so much :)

Here are the pressies I made for the birthday girl.
Keepsake box

Picture board

and her jewellery was the same as this but without the earrings.

And a good time was had by all :) We are all going out for lunch today as my sister was in Turkey and din't make the party. We also had to agree to this in order to keep the party a secret.

Thanks for looking.

Exploding box

Another one off the list! I might be tempted do make a list more often as I love seeing it shrink LOL

Have you noticed that there is absolutely no housework on it :) I have a house like a tip, not one but two piles of ironing and three full wash baskets!! MiL is arriving tomorrow for the weekend and we have 22 for a bbq on Sunday for my mum's birthday for which I need to bake and prepare food all day on Saturday and set up the marquee etc on Sunday morning.

So onto the box
This is the brief I got from my customer (it's the fourth one I've done for the lady)
Hello Jackie
I mentioned to you that I would like another of your boxes for a wedding. The details are:
Kay and Graham getting married on Saturday 9 August 2008. She will be wearing a traditional dress and having orchids. They have a chocolate labrador dog, like motor bikes and cars and have a caravan and have a rabbit! I hope this is useful?

I left out the cars as I made one for the brides sister last month and used cars on that one. The orchid in the middle of the box was (loosely) modelled on the orchid pic above. Mine looks decidedly ropey at the side of it :)

The box has now gone from the list so next is the jewellery and box for my mum and the phone charm.
another breast cancer awareness phone charm
start my samples for Debbi Moore Started
Necklace and keepsake box for mum's birthday

The following two are the start of next week's list.

100 Christmas cards, order confirmed
Seating plan, 9 table names and 80 place cards

Enjoy your evening. TFL

Have a mice day!

I realised after I had blogged yesterday that I had forgotten to add a sentiment to my mum's birthday card from the kids so I added and rescanned it.
The sentiment was generated on the lap top :)

I made a quick card for my son in law who passed his driving test this morning. It took me about 10 minutes and had to make it super quick as DD2 was going to see him.Not one of my best but he liked it :) sizzix car, Doodlebug rub ons, the paper is Brenda Pinnick or K Co (not sure as I bought a mixed pack off ebay!), green satin ribbon and an L which was done on the computer.

I also finished the 10 wedding invitationsMy 'to do' list is about to shrink! I've found it really useful to publish it this week as it has spurred me on to try to clear it (try it Kathy-it really works ;))

an exploding box (now cut out)

another breast cancer awareness phone charm

start my samples for Debbi Moore Started

Necklace and keepsake box for mum's birthday

The following two are the start of next week's list.

100 Christmas cards, order confirmed

Seating plan, 9 table names and 80 place cards

box time now. Thanks for looking.

At last.....

I've now finished mums birthday cards, I just need to put inserts in them, so they have been crossed off the list and I can show them :) the second card fits last Friday's dare

The image is another Penny Black stamped for me a while ago by my bloggin' bud, Jo. Take a look at her blog, her work is fantastic. The ric rac is felt and is from the new Sweet Nothings range by Papermania and it is luverly!! Flowers are a mix of Papermania and ebay! LOL This card is from DS and DD, both of whom are still at home.

This next card is from DD and BF who don't :)

My mother is worse than Imelda Marcos for shoes so decided a shoe card would be appropriate! It took me ages to get the proportions correct for this card.............it started life as a QK die cut :) The shoe is actually gold and I bought the leopard print card about three years ago and didn't know what to do with it until now. Papers (I think) are K & Co, flowers are from Dunelm and everything else is either done on the pc or gold peel offs! Yes they have been outed just for the DCM Dare from last Friday. (Just for you Lythan ;))

This is the first page of my brother's scrapbook.

I wanted to keep the first page as simple as possible because I wanted to use this sheet of paper. I got it in one of the mini scrap kits from Papermania and really liked it. The frame and the bear are both from the Bear Neccessities kit from Nitwit Unfortunately the site is down for maintainance at the mo but it is definitely worth a look when it comes back online.

So now the 'to do' list reads as:

an exploding box (now cut out)

10 extra evening invitations for a couple who miscounted!

2 birthday cards for my mum Done

Bespoke feather fascinator Done

another breast cancer awareness phone charm

start my samples for Debbi Moore Started
start my brother's scrapbook album (Started - done first page but need to photograph) Done

sort out a Braille menu and order of the day Done
Cake topper for mum's birthday cake Done
Necklace and keepsake box for mum's birthday

Price and deliver jewellery and tiaras to shop Done
100 Christmas cards, order confirmed

Seating plan, 9 table names and 80 place cards

When I next do my to do list I shall delete the finished work and then hopefully I will see it going down :)

To do list continued!

The good news is that I'm pleased to be able to come back so soon and cross a couple of item off my list. The bad news is that I need to add a couple! So here goes

an exploding box

10 extra evening invitations for a couple who miscounted!

2 birthday cards for my mum

Bespoke feather fascinator Done

another breast cancer awareness phone charm

start my samples for Debbi Moore Started

start my brother's scrapbook album (Started - done first page but need to photograph)

sort out a Braille menu and order of the day Done

Cake topper for mum's birthday cake Done

Necklace and keepsake box for mum's birthday

Price and deliver jewellery and tiaras to shop Done

This is the dress I had to match the fascinator to
and here is my fascinator

The long dark feathers are actually teal not black. I'm pleased with this as the feathers are an almost perfect match to the dress. It took me five hours of searching to find all the correct colours!

Mum's cake topper

I've used ivory feathers, gold wire and clear beads. The numbers were cut using Curlie Girlie alphabet and gold mirri card.

That's it for now. I'm now going to start mum's cards, the exploding box and the extra stationery. I would also like to try to fit in a blog hop later (I think I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms LOL)

Water water everywhere

Yet another busy week has passed in the Party Nights household.............two wedding orders finished and two more received :) Both couples get married on 28th July and both have had colours I don't get to work with very often when 'doing' weddings........hot pink and purple! The colours worked very well and both couples are pleased with the results. See for yourselves what I mean about the colours
Here we have the wedding favours (white almond filled racquets with purple and white daisies and purple ribbon) and the coordinating seating plan.

And a close up of the favours.

All the tables for this wedding are named after landmarks in Paris (where the groom proposed) which we printed in grey scale as a background. The tri-fold cards have the table name and the name and date of the couple and their wedding on one side, the menu printed on the second side and the guests names printed on the third side. These are held together with ivory organza ribbon threaded through bright pink eyelets set with the Cropodile.

My to do list is still as long as my arm and doesn't seem to want to shrink. LOL This next week I need to make

an exploding box

10 extra evening invitations for a couple who miscounted!

2 birthday cards for my mum

a feather fascinator

another breast cancer awareness phone charm

start my samples for Debbi Moore

start my brother's scrapbook album

sort out a Braille menu and order of the day

and make 100 Christmas cards for a local hotel..................oh, and finish organising my mum's birthday bash which is a week on Sunday. It's a good job I love my work :))

I wish all this horrible rain would stop and give us the chance of a little bit of summer. I went down to visit the school I used to work in today. Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know that the village I worked in was not only flooded last year but remained under water for eight days! The school is finally ready to move back into after being in porta cabins for 12 months. It will be totally sorted with books and everything in place by the time they break up next Friday. They have made a wonderful job of it, such an improvement on the old school. Every time we have continuous rain, like we've had for the last few days, the children start to panic as some of them are only just moving back into their homes after living in caravans for 12 months!

I'm now going to have a quick look to see if I can incorporate any challenges into my mum's cards and then I might have a play with my Debbi Moore kit or start my brother's scrap album.

Take care and thanks for looking. :)

Bind it all books

Yey, after much messing and misalignment I finally got the hang of my Bind It All :)

I made four small books for the shop and had to keep them as cheap as possible so they are not overly decorated. They have just been picked up and the lady was really pleased with them!

I'm pleased with the way these turned out so I can up the ante and start making other things with the BIA.

That's it for today as I need to tidy my pig sty ready to start tomorrow on wedding stationery again.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend! Thanks for looking.

Thank you teacher

I made a dozen thank you cards yesterday for the shop around the corner, then last night and today I am making small gifty type things suitable for end of term pressies for teachers so am back to my 1.30 am finishes! :)

Here are the cards made from things on my desk

Hand stamped images are all coloured with Prismacolours and Sansador. PB images were stamped for me by Jo King and my little man is a Sugar Nellies stamp from Funky Kits

I've also used assorted bits of paper, ribbons, buttons and bows and I can't remember where they came from or who they are by LOL

That's all for now folks. Back soon with the gifts.
