Award Ceremony

I've been given this award, Arte Y Pico by Jennifer (who actually googled it but didn't find out what it meant). If you haven't visited her blog then make sure you do, she certainly brightens my day! Thanks Jennifer. XI now have to nominate five more to accept the award. I always find this difficult as I love all the blogs I visit and love finding new ones through other people's blogging buddies list. Right, here goes in no particular order (as in Dancing on Ice format). Jo King - (I haven't forgotten your tag, I'm still thinking!) I know you've had it several times, it shows how popular you are :) Sue H - because you're lovely! Sheila (aka Manic Stamper)- because you never fail to make me smile with your wonderful comments! Kathy - thank you for letting me be your blogging buddy LOL Andrea - cos you're my friend :)

And now to work. I was so pleased with myself last night, i made seven cards. I took 21 cards round to the shop on Tuesday to give the lady the choice to replace sold stock (14 cards) and she snaffled them all so I had to start again to fill up the box DH has at work :)

The papers are assorted pieces from my desk, the Lola and Hettie images were in amongst a load of paper and must have been there for ages because I deleted my Hettie folder not long after I bought it and had only printed off a couple of sheets! I did buy it again though. :)

I'm still using the left overs from my desk so you can imagine what it looked like. So far I've made 22 cards without getting anything (apart from the odd brad) out of any drawers or cupboards. I've still got enough on there for a load more cards! LOL

Housework *spit* beckons now but I will be back later with more offerings and Jo's tag.

Happy Mother's Day

What can I say! I've just received this lovely award from a lovely lady who has become a new blogging (and email) buddie! Thank you Jo it made my day. :)

My youngest daughter forgot to get me a card, my son bought one of mine from my stock box (!) for me because " the ones round at the shop were crap" lol and a box of yummy Lindtor chocs and then my eldest daughter came round with a beautiful card, a lovely bunch of white lilies, Amy MacDonald's latest cd and Kate Rusbie's so I was well chuffed. DH said he would sort tea and promptly ordered a Chinese takeaway so a lovely day in all.Thank you everyone.
I now need to give this award to five other people so here goes. I shall nominate Kathy B and Sheila O because they make me smile, Lythan for being an all round lovely person and fab scrapbooker, Anna for giving me a kick up the bum when I needed it, Andrea for always leaving lovely comments on my blog and Andrea and Jo for being my mates!

Oops........just realised I can't count!!

Special requests!

.........but firstly I just need to tell you about my little bit of good news. Not only have I received emails about another two new wedding fayres for next year but we have been awarded a Diamond Recognition Award by the National Weddings magazine as a recommended supplier! My little diamond will have pride of place on the home page of my web site as soon as hubby has finished fiddling :)
A friend rang me on Sunday to request two special cards and a key ring for tomorrow. The brief for one of the cards was for a girlyish card for a collegue (it's actually to give to the girl who took my job when I left!!) who was moving jobs so this is what I came up with.

Papers are all Making Memories and flowers are Prima finished off with a clear diamante. Pic and greeting are printed on the pc.
The second part of the order was for a card for my friends 'neice in law' (is that a relative term?) who got engaged last week. The only slight problem being that they have just bought a house and can't afford a ring straight away so they got engaged with a jelly ring from a Haribo Starmix!! Here is my card
The slide mount is made from layers of cereal packet glued together to give it depth, then backed with a piece of acetate so that the colour and grease from the 'diamond ring' doesn't soak through the card. The crystal is stuck to the ring and the ring stuck to the card with Diamond Glaze. Papers are K & Co wedding mat stack again.
Thanks to all you lovely people who are leaving comments on my blog. I really do appreciate them.
Take care. xx
