Sketch and Stash

Challenge #4

My new stash this time was the gorgeous freebie papers from Kirsty Wiseman I seriously need that cd and as my birthday is the 10th and this cd comes out on 8th it might just sneak it's way onto my pressie list ;)) The only things I didn't use from Kirsty are the star brad and the burgundy card!

Thanks for looking.

Secret Crafter

Just in time for tomorrows challenge! This is another quick card (and I mean like 10 minutes quick LOL) as hubs is djing at a wedding this evening. I can remember back a couple of years ago when he had a stock of cards in a box..............now I seem to be making them as he is going out of the door :)

So here is another lovely sketch which I haven't done justice to (it's a good job it's the thought that counts)
Paper is K & Co, image is one of the Bang on the Door stamps and the other bits are from my oddments box.

Papertake Weekly

My next card was a very difficult one to make as it is going to be put on a grave. Those of you who regularly read my blog will know that we lost a very special auntie just before Christmas. It would have been her birthday on Wednesday and we are going to put flowers on the rave tomorrow. I avoided doing it on Wednesday as I wanted her own children to be able to visit in peace. I'm going to laminate the card and attach it to the flowers. You might think it's a strange choice of image but both Florence and Cec (see the PB card below-it's Cec's birthday on Tuesday) collected hedgehogs!

Anyway, I used Dawny's sketch #9 for this one but turned it on it's side.

The grey paper is by Pink Petticoat, not sure what the pink paper is but I love it and have only got a couple of small pieces left now, image is PB again, the little butterfly was punched (not literally!) and the ribbon is again from Ribbon Oasis.

This card also fits with the Colour Create challenge this week which is

As well as the colours being grey and pink, the other part of the remit is For this week's extra option we would like you to think 'cute and cuddly', but please remember that this is not compulsory. So again, I think I've managed both elements. I'm really loving this challenge blog :))

Just Chr.....s

......& Birthday cards. I'm sorry but I just can't bring myself to say the C word in the title ;) Any how, I made the following card using the sketch from 9th Feb and forgot about it. When you see the pic you will see why! LOL
I needed a very quick birthday card for hubby to take to the party he was djing at last weekend, hence one very quick, very basic card!!

Papers are Making Memories from eons ago, 18 was cut on the Robo, flower is prima, rub on is Papermania and the ribbon is from my very favourite Ribbon Oasis.

This card goes even further back on the Just Christmas & Birthday Cards blog, the challenge is dated the 2nd Feb, oops!

Papers are K & Co, Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards, image is Penny Black (stamped for me by my lovely friend Jo) tag is from Crafts By Carolyn, and the ribbons are from Ribbon Oasis.

Bad, bad blogger!

I can't believe that it is nine days since I last blogged.........where is time going? I thought this year may have been a tad slow business wise, how wrong was I? I seem to be making wedding stationery in my sleep and when I'm not making stationery I am meeting with some lovely couples who are looking for my help in organising their wedding. That isn't a complaint though, I love every minute of it, who wouldn't enjoy that! :)

So since I last showed my face I have made

These were made for a wedding fayre last Sunday but they will also be used for my next one on 26th April which will save me a bit of time ;)

I also made an extra 5 invitations for my daughter as she keeps finding people to invite to the evening 'do'. She's paying for the evening so I just keep churning out the invitations LOL

So my 'to do' list is making a comeback!!

Have a break....

have a .......quick card sketch moment! I need a beak from stationery a couple of time a day so usually try to fit a challenge card in, but this time I decided on Kathy's new sketch
Papers are Suet Pudding by Blonde Moments, the large central sticker is from dozens I found in a drawer last week so I thought I would start to do something with them (I haven't used these K & Co stickers for years but used them loads when I first started), the letters were cut using QK Olivia alphabet and the gems are from my stash.

I think I may be becoming a Sketch File groupie LOL!

I found a load of other challenges last night but not sure if I will have time to do any over and above my usual ones............we shall see :)

More blog candy

I came across the following blogs indirectly this afternoon and am so glad I did. Not only are the ladies giving away luscious blog candy but their work is truly stunning.

Papercrafts By Rach

Sarah-Jane

Simply Pink

All The Things I Love

I am now following the blogs so I can keep up with the tremendous work they are producing :)

2 Sketches and bonus

I'm chasing my tail again this week but still managing to tie card challenges into stock and ordered cards :) So this week it is Kazan's Sketch #20 and Julie's turn to submit the bonus sketch.

I've used the new stamp received from Nikki at DewDrop Craftz for my cards this week and isn't he just the little toff!! I've coloured this one with my Prisma pencils and Sansador,
Same stamp again but this time it's coloured with Promarkers after receiving another set this morning ;) Papers are K & C and Papermania, tag and screw brad are from Crafts By Carolyn's shop and the Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards but I coloured them with Promarkers again.
Right off to the PO now before I get stuck into more wedding stationery orders.

Colour Create

We would like you to make your card or project this week using the colours red, white and blue. There is an extra option available which you can use if you wish, although this isn't compulsory. This week's option is 'Holidays and Travel'

I don't think I can claim the extra option this week although people DO play football on holiday and you DO have to travel to get the ball! No? Ok then we'll just go for the colours LOL The image is one of Sally-Ann's downloadable images from Grab-A-Doodle-Do coloured with Prismas and Sansador, the football is Quickutz and the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

My darling hubby has just booked me a late birthday pressie.........he is taking DD2 and myself to New York for the weekend on 20th March, it's actually 10 days after my birthday but who cares! :) We are already booked to see Simply Red in concert at the end of March (he's taking myself and a friend) so I shall be thoroughly spoilt this year.

DD has been whinging for a couple of weeks about going on holiday and how she can't wait till August when we go to Cornwall (typical teenager!) Anyhow, he has said for year that he would like to take me as he went in a previous life ;), he asked me last night, I sat here until 2 am trying to make my mind up.......then he came home tonight and booked it. Looks like I'm going now LOL

Right, it's almost bed time so that's me done for another day.

Take care, speak soon.

CBC challenge!

Carolyn set a recipe challenge to consist of
2 different ribbons
checks
flowers (more than 3)
the colour green somewhere in your card

The card is for DD2's best friend for her birthday on Saturday. We went to the Range yesterday and she decided that she wanted this Smirk image for the card.......but I had to give her eyes as it was spooky LOL The two ribbons are both from Ribbon Oasis the checked paper was in with the kit, three of the flowers are Prima and the other two are on the image and I've added a bit of doodling in green! Sorted !!! LOL

Sketch Saturday

Sketch #38 I used this sketch for a couple of other challenges and made two cards!

So this card also fits the Daring Cardmakers challenge Feeling Green-The dare is feeling green. I want to see lots of green on your cards in any shade you like. You could even do a double dare and make a green themed get well card. It's up to you. We can't wait to see what you come up with
and also the Secret Crafters challenge which this week is-"Spring has Sprung" Any Spring like creations or Spring colours

Papers used are K & Co and Luscious Lime by Blonde Moments, flowers are Papermania and Prima, the stamp (which I stamped twice and decoupaged the 'trumpet') is one from the Papermania Marie Curie set and everything else is from my stash.

My next card also fits the sketch challenge

I made these cards at the weekend to go with my One Heart give aways :)

I also made the following two cards on Saturday as DH had two weddings on Saturday evening. This weekend he has two birthdays!

TFL :)

Blog candy alert!

I've come across some lovely blog candy whilst I've been nosey this morning :))

Check out Hazel's blog and Michelle's blog

Congratulations girls and thanks for giving us a chance to win.

To my Valentine!

Here is my efforts for Liz's February competition on Pink Petticoat's blog The prize is one of those yummy pink wire cake stands which I would really love to win as I've looked everywhere for them to no avail. I did find one on Amazon but it was £24.99........and I ain't paying that.

Liz has posted the instructions for these little gift pouches/sour cream containers on her blog and they are so simple to make. I decided that I would make mine for DH for Valentine's day and it just holds two Cadbury's Cream Eggs (his second love, after me of course LOL). I used the Love Text paper from the Him section of the Old Fashioned Girl download as it matches the card I made him a couple of weeks ago. I kept them both fairly simple so that they wouldn't take anything away from the lovely sentiments and image. I added an eyelet using my Cropodile and threaded the tag onto burgundy ribbon to pick out the burgundy in the paper.

I hope Liz likes it.........DH certainly does :)

Last one.....

...for this evening is the Inspirational Card Sketch #3

Yet another stamp I keep forgetting about! Who keeps putting all these stamps in my drawer? LOL

I coloured it with Promarkers and added Glossy Accent to the eyes, nose, paws and heart. Paper and brown flower are Papermania, the cream flower is Prima and the Sugar Coated brad is Doodlebug. The letters were cut using Wingo Zingo alphabet.

Not sure how much I will get done tomorrow as we have someone coming in the morning to pat test DH's disco gear and my craft stuff and I have a couple coming at lunch time about wedding stationery. I haven't got any of my stuff out yet so will have to get up early in the morning to do it.

Take care and thanks for looking.

Something Chocolate

This is the challenge for today on the Stamp Something blog

In keeping with the Valentine's ideas and seeing as Valentine's Day is tomorrow, we thought Chocolate would be a delicious challenge theme for this week. So, that said, create something with chocolate in mind. It could be a card made with chocolate colored papers or embellished with chocolate colored ribbons and flowers. Or you could make a project that actually uses some delicious chocolate confections....the ideas are endless and this challenge is open to your interpretation.

The sketch is #39 from Friday Sketchers and I flipped it on it's side!

Another one of my favourite colour combinations is brown and pink so I was able to incorporate it into this challenge card :) with a bit of white/cream/pale coffee in there too it reminds me of a neopolitan ice cream LOL So the backing paper this time is Daisy Bucket (I think it might be Under the Boardwalk), the image is by Pink Petticoat coloured again with Promarkers and glittered with Debbi Moore's iridescent glitter, the flowers are Papermania and Prima and the sentiment stamp is from Stamps Away at Clever Cut

2 Sketches 4 You

This week was Laura's sketch #19 and I've made yet another Mother's day card ready to go into my shops on Monday.
Another one of my 'cutiepie' stamps coloured with Promarkers :) Paper this time was from an old cardmaking kit I bought a while ago, the yellow grosgrain ribbon is by Maya Road and the yellow and white striped ribbon is from my favouritest place, Ribbon Oasis I finished the card with two rows of 3 sa 3mm pearls.

Sketch Saturday

number 37 from last week!

I love these little stamps but forget to use them (along with loads of others!) DH bought them for me for the first Christmas after I 'discovered' card making and they are just so cute. The font matches them perfectly too, it's called Scrap Kidz. The image is coloured with Promarkers, the papers are K & Co and I'm not sure what the jazzy stripey paper is as I've chucked the strip away off the bottom. I do know that it's almost prehistoric though, I've had it that long! LOL The little flower was a piece left off a K & Co border which I found in a drawer last night.

OWOH

.........and the winners are

Jax at Unproductively Productive (I love that name!)

who wins the beading book and

wins the bracelet I made from the book :)
Both winners have been emailed and I'm just waiting for them to get back to me with their details and I can get their goodies in the post.
This was my first time taking part in this event and I shall definitely join in again next year but will keep an eye out for it starting as I joined mid way through this year.

Back soon and thanks everyone for playing.

*Edited to add that I have addresses for both my winners so I will get the goodies in the post on Monday at the very latest.

One world, one heart

Photo

I've seen this on a couple of blogs and decided that I would like to take part myself. You can read all about the rules and regulations here and decide if you want to take part yourself. So now onto my giveaway.................

I already have my own copy of this book and there are some lovely ideas in it.

To be in with a chance of winning this book you must have an active blog and add a comment on this post. All valid comments received up to and before midnight (UK time) on February 11th will go into the draw and the winner will be drawn on February 12th 2009 and announced on my blog. This is an international event and entries are welcome from all bloggers all over the world. Good luck.

If you're an artist or creative crafter who'd like to join in please visit Lisa Swifkas blog for more details. We'd love to have more people aboard our "gypsy caravan" as its also called.

Edited to add that as there are many people taking part in this 'give away' who don't make jewellery, as a second prize I will make one of the projects from the book to send. I'm not sure which one yet but will post piccies when I've decided :)

Sketch and Stash

Challenge #3

I decided to flip the sketch on it's side for this challenge! The image was coloured with Promarkers and is by Penny Black and was part of a folder full my mate Jo sent me last year, I still have a few left! Papers are by Doodlebug and Pink Petticoat. Flowers are Prima and everything else is from my stash.

There we are, the sum total of my work today! Well not quite, I've stamped some images too to use shortly and done some paper work :(

Colour Create

Challenge 2 - Peach & Aqua

Please make your card using Peach and Aqua. You can also use cream/white for your cardstock and flesh colours for any images.
There is an extra option available which you can use if you wish, although this isn't compulsory. This week's option is 'DIY flowers', which means not using any pre made, bought flowers on your cards and projects.
Here are some ideas which might help: Stamp a flower onto card and cut it out, Punch and layer flowers, Die cut flowers, Doodle your own flowers, Stitch flowers, Peel and mount stickers to form a flower, Use shaped petals eg, hearts to form a flower, Make flowers from Nestie shapes, Make a ribbon flower.
I'm sure there are lots more ways, please feel free to come up with your own! Don't forget that embossing, distressing, ink edging, etc will all add to the effect and you could add a stamen to the centre. Also glitter, glossy accents, liquid pearl drops might work well. Unusual materials might include tissue paper, vellum, acetate, chipboard...... just a few ideas. Finally, remember that you are allowed to combine our challenge with any other you would like to take part in during the week. GOOD LUCK!!!

The flower stamp is by Hero Arts which I coloured with Prismas and Sansador. The turquoise/aqua paper is from Pink Petticoat and the aqua coloured scalloped card is a 'Ruffle' from Craftwork Cards and it's all tied together with peach ribbon from Ribbon Oasis

I haven't added a sentiment yet as I'm not too sure whether to make it a Mother's Day card or make some more and use them as notecards to give to MiL on Mother's Day!

Papertake Weekly

Dawny's Sketch #8

Yet another card in my quest to conquer the Mother's Day card mountain (in between meetings with brides and grooms as the wedding season is now in (almost) full swing :))

This time I used one of Chris's fabulous downloads that I bought the other night and made the card up to Dawny's sketch.

You will probably notice that I am still in the off cuts box. I tell you, I could probably supply every crafter in the country :) I use a set of map drawers as part of my storage and I have one draw full of off cuts.........I 'decant' them into a box on my table so every so often (or maybe very often LOL) you will see off cuts of really ancient papers. Just look on it as a 'vintage' phase........after all, no one will know apart from us :))

So, the papers used are Luscious Lime by Blonde Moments and Hello Ladies by Kate Teague for Fontworks. Image was coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment was computer generated. Bling is from my stash.
