Super Saturday

It's not really, well not yet anyway. I decided when I got up this morning that I would grab a cup of coffee and a quick half hour to update my blog before I start work, well I have been at it for an hour and a half so far. This will be my last post for today though as I'm being beckoned by weddings :)
I've just got a few more cards I've made for hubby over the last few days.

They were all made with bits I had in a basket on my desk. I always have a container for oddments eg die cuts, coloured images etc but as I have been really busy with weddings and DT work this year my little cup and saucer has turned into a mammoth pile. However when I get back from my hols I'm going to have a mammoth blitz and make cards for the Soldiers appeal and hopefully that should clear it a wee bit lol

I'm going to add another page to my blog and my Party Nights Creations FB page as I have lots of stock left over from the shop which I need to sell including my spare Big Shot. I'm hoping I'll be able to start it tomorrow but it not it will be when we get back from Cornwall.

Thanks for looking and have a fab weekend.

Funky Friday

Still backwards scheduling :) This time it's a bunch of wedding cards I made for hubby to take to work as he had run out. I know I say it after every cd release but I absolutely love this one and projects can be made so quickly if you need anything last minute as you can make a complete topper on screen and just print it off. Of course if you like matting and layering pretty papers then it's right up your street too :)

I have added an album to my Party Nights Creations Facebook page where all my Funky Hand work will be posted, I'd love it if you could take time to have a look and if you like what you see then please like my page, thank you.

I paper pieced this card by printing the image onto patterned paper as well as white card.
Just how cute are they? I printed off the pre coloured images from the cd but all the papers were left over from previous projects so I'm going to do something that I haven't done for absolutely ages and that is add them to a couple of challenges, especially Di's Crafty Snippets.

The cd can be purchased from the Funky Hand. If you go to the Wishes and Kisses page and scroll down you will see a quick video by Ian which runs you through it quickly so you can see a bit more before you buy. Also, if you take a look just below the video (and this applies to all the cds and downloads) there is a small gallery showing some samples of work by Anice and the Design Team. There is also lots of inspiration and a monthly challenge on the Get Funky! blog

There is a new download to be released very very soon and as always it is really funky! It's my turn to set the challenge for July and I will be using it for my project but I'm sure it will have a public airing way before that. Keep and eye out for the "Daisy Day" download.

Wishing you lots of crafty playing and if you join in with our challenge then please don't forget to add your name to Mr Linky at the bottom of the post.

Thanks for looking.

Horses for courses.

It has stopped raining, hooray! The sky is still a horrible shade of grey though and the heating is on....so much for flaming June!!

The following card was commissioned from a friend of a friend for her granddaughter's birthday next month.

The card measures 8" x 8" and I used
Backing paper Nitwits

Ribbon and charm from my vast stash :)

I hope you like it. I will be back later as I have quite a few cards to make today.

Funky Friday

Can't live with it, can't live without it....I'm talking about the blooming internet. I have loads to do at the moment and what happens? Our blooming internet died on me yesterday lunch time. Hubby tried ringing them when he got in to find out if there was a problem and finally after 4 hours he got a person on the end of the phone. He went through all the technical stuff, you know, "switch the router off and back on again, has that worked mate?" then after 15 minutes he concludes that there isn't a fault at their end and he needs to get an engineer out to us but the earliest he can come is Saturday at 12 noon!!!! Late yesterday evening I texted my daughter to ask her to put a note on my Facebook page only to find out that their internet is off as is half of their street.....but there isn't a fault registered. Anyway, we got up this morning and miraculously, it had come back on. It has dropped out a few times today but not for long.

So onto my Funky Friday card :) Did you see the zingy free paper Anice made for this month's challenge? Well although I didn't use it on my Get Funky! cards (I thought it was a bit too funky for my dad lol) I decided to use it on my card for today.

The following card was made with off cuts from my Funky Hand scrap folder and the 'piece de resistance' is my box! I wanted to make one of these ages ago when I received one in a Secret Santa a few years ago when it was filled with Begian chocolates, not your pretend ones, these were from Bruges :)
The papers on the above card were left over from my Spring Has Sprung dt cards and the butterflies were cut using a punch, I think it was a Papermania one.

that's my lot for tonight. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so am off upstairs to put my jimjams on and snuggle on the settee with a cup of hot chocolate! See you tomorrow.

Sketch time!!

Hello people, I hope you're all ok and have shared the lovely sunshine we have had in South Yorkshire today.
It's the turn of our wonderful leader, Anice to set the challenge of the month over on the Get Funky! blog this month and she has provided us with a brilliant sketch. You can flip it or do anything with it as long as we can still see the sketch and your project doesn't just have to be a card if you don't want it to be. So here is the sketch

Our only rule is that you must use at least on Funky Hand product on your project please.
If you want to join in but don't have any Funky Hand Stash then don't worry, Anice always designs a Funky Freebie sheet of patterned paper to get you started. If you enter you could soon be enjoying more of Funky Hand's fab products as you will be entered into the draw to win a Funky Hand Download of your choice as your prize.
You'll find this months Funky Freebie in the download section of the Funky Hand website www.funkyhand.com

I made my first card for my dad last week but then on Sunday at about 12 o'clock I realised that I hadn't made him a card from my kids and we were going down to see my parents at 12.45 :)! I had already printed of a load of the papers for some projects I will be making shortly so they were on my desk. The oddments of ribbon were left over from the first card so were still on my desk and the eyelets were in a large teacup where I chuck all sorts, again on my desk! I added the sentiment in the smoke before I printed off my image and it was just a case of mounting it onto dark blue card and sticking it onto the paper covered card front. It was one of the quickest cards I've made in a long time,  All of the papers and images are from the new Wishes and Kisses cd which is available to buy on the Funky Hand web site and will be show cased by Anice on Create and Craft on 15th July.

We look forward to seeing what you make so don't forget to add your project to the In Linkz button at the bottom of the challenge post.

Thanks for looking.

Funky Friday

Well that's another week come and gone which means it's Funky Friday again and this week it ties in with the new challenge on Funky Hand blog.

It's Anice's turn to host the challenge this month and she has given us a fabulous sketch!

So onto my Funky Friday make. If you read my blog regularly you will know that in April, I went to see the Osmonds with a very special friend. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so I thought I would make her this little keepsake as it was her birthday last Saturday. Unfortunately I didn't get it finished in time as the week was manic! It's all finished and wrapped now so I will get it to her this weekend.

Somehow I managed to delete this post while I was messing about 10 minutes ago but I think I've got the content near enough to how it was before lol.

It's that time again folks, these blooming Thursdays are coming round too fast for my liking. At this rate that horrible C word will be here before we know it! :)

If you need any inspiration take a look at the Kanban Blog and the Facebook page where each of the designers has their own gallery page. There is some fabulous work on show from my team mates.

Funky Friday

Happy Friday everyone. It's wet and miserable here in Scruff's Corner but we won't let that dampen our spirits as we are preparing for a big wedding tomorrow. We have tables to organise, sweetie bowls to fill up and cupcakes to sort before an early start tomorrow so need to crack on :)

Just in case you haven't noticed from my previous posts, Anice at Funky Hand has released a brand new cd called Wishes and Kisses, (have you got your copy yet?) last week was spent making samples ready for the Create and Craft launch next week so I have plenty to show you over the coming days :)

So, sample number 1, a very small accordion book in a box which I made using the You've Retired section and some of the pre coloured digi stamps off the cd.

I hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Kanban Thursday

I am so enjoying playing with my Kanban kits (although I have had a little distraction this week, see tomorrow's post;))

So, in keeping with the Jubilee weekend. Wasn't it just fabulous and the Queen looked absolutely stunning throughout. And Gary Barlow must be a very, very proud man (apart from his duet with Cheryl Cole where she was flat for most of the song! Not good Chezza!!)

WOYWW #157

Am I the only one who thought it was Monday, hence the late post? :)) I have a different sort of work desk to show this time and it smells lovely :)

Do you fancy a snoop around the world's work desk and seeing what craftiness is going on? Visit the blog of the boss and founder, Julia's Stamping Ground and you might become a little wiser :)

Take care.

Finished

I have now finished all my samples for this week. I sort of got carried away with this wonderful new cd, Wishes and Kisses and have had to rein myself in. I made seven projects for Anice but have a fair few papers and images printed off too so there will be more makes to come :)

Papers are from the 'You've Retired' section of the cd and the image is printed from the cd too. The knitting is done by my fair hands with wool from my knitting bag and there we have a really quick card.

Thanks for looking and I hope you are having a fabulous long bank holiday.

Sunday

No card today as I've been very lazy so far and haven't made one. I have spent all day in front of the TV watch the Royal Pageant and later on, The Apprentice final! I don't watch a great deal of tv and it never ever goes on during the day unless my daughter is watching some of her teenage 'drive' on one of her days off. The upshot of that is that I have knitted the back of a cardigan to send to the Kids Company (along with the rest of it of course!) but I do have a couple of photos to share.
The first one is from my birthday in March. Hubby took us, including my parents, to a local hotel for lunch and my daughter was working there. She came out of the kitchen with this which was done by one of the chefs

Thanks Dai :))

The other is my beautiful Azalea which sits underneath my craft studio window. It was bought for me from one of the teachers I worked with about 8 years ago when I was a TA. I though my son had killed it one year while we were on holiday but he obviously hadn't.
see you tomorrow xx
