Fabulous Fuchsias

I missed this set of stamps and dies from Clearly Besotted when they were released in March but managed to get them last week and boy, were they worth the wait, I absolutely love them!

It took me about 15 minutes to make this card as for my daughter as she was going to a birthday party on Saturday evening

and I liked it so much that I decided to make a thank you card for a lovely lady (who helped my daughter and her boyfriend with some very useful advice) and it took me blooming ages as I couldn't get the dies lined up with the stamps. In the end I decided to use the simple uncoloured stamps and was really pleased with it again.

I then decided to make another birthday card to pop in the box in the nail boutique/hairdressers who stock my cards. This was a quick make too as the dies lined up with the stamps straight away! This time hubby snaffled it for his aunt whose birthday is at the end of the month.
I think I might just make another birthday card when everyone is out of the house and smuggle it into the shop in among a pile of other cards waiting to go to the shop lol.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Thank you card

A quick card from me today using one of my favourite product ranges from Kanban Crafts. The design sheets are fabulous for making quick modern cards

Materials used are: 6x6" scallop edged card blank, silver mirri card, topper & elements are Friendship Lollipops & Mats Kanban 901567, clear gems and paper is from the Love & Marriage paper pad 901539.

I'll try to come back later with today's work as I'm in favour box mode today and am making them for an open evening (wedding fayre) on Thursday evening at the Holiday Inn, Doncaster from 6pm till 9pm. If you're looking to get married in the Doncaster area this is the place I would recommend. There are two fabulous venues which will be set up as for a wedding and the top recommended suppliers will be there to chat with you. The difference between a wedding fayre and an open evening is that we DO have the time to speak to you properly unlike at a wedding fayre when there are loads of exhibitors all vying for your attention.

If you do come along then please come and say hello, I'm the one with the wedding stationery. xx

Funky Hand

Have you seen the new digi stamps from Funky Hand? They are available from 99p each and as they are downloads they can be used straight away :) I used another download to make my card and I have to say that it is one of my favourites and is very versatile.

That's right, it's the Rainbow Polkadots download
I printed the 'Thank You' message on top of the spotty paper and coloured some of the elements within the letters in green leaf Promarker just to pop it a bit and the daisy was made with  a new Sizzix die from an off cut of a piece of card from Pressie Time on the Happy Happy Birthday cd from the Papercraft Factory series of cds.

I hope you like my card and thank you for dropping by.

Funky Friday

Can't live with it, can't live without it....I'm talking about the blooming internet. I have loads to do at the moment and what happens? Our blooming internet died on me yesterday lunch time. Hubby tried ringing them when he got in to find out if there was a problem and finally after 4 hours he got a person on the end of the phone. He went through all the technical stuff, you know, "switch the router off and back on again, has that worked mate?" then after 15 minutes he concludes that there isn't a fault at their end and he needs to get an engineer out to us but the earliest he can come is Saturday at 12 noon!!!! Late yesterday evening I texted my daughter to ask her to put a note on my Facebook page only to find out that their internet is off as is half of their street.....but there isn't a fault registered. Anyway, we got up this morning and miraculously, it had come back on. It has dropped out a few times today but not for long.

So onto my Funky Friday card :) Did you see the zingy free paper Anice made for this month's challenge? Well although I didn't use it on my Get Funky! cards (I thought it was a bit too funky for my dad lol) I decided to use it on my card for today.

The following card was made with off cuts from my Funky Hand scrap folder and the 'piece de resistance' is my box! I wanted to make one of these ages ago when I received one in a Secret Santa a few years ago when it was filled with Begian chocolates, not your pretend ones, these were from Bruges :)
The papers on the above card were left over from my Spring Has Sprung dt cards and the butterflies were cut using a punch, I think it was a Papermania one.

that's my lot for tonight. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so am off upstairs to put my jimjams on and snuggle on the settee with a cup of hot chocolate! See you tomorrow.

with the addition of a Prima flower and a diamante.

Thank You!

It's my turn to show my card for our Get Funky! December challenge (it seems a long time ago now!) which is to make a thank you card. There is still time to take part in the challenge but not much as it finishes tomorrow. There is the freebie paper too if you don't have any Funky Hand products and it's available here

I love this download and it definitely makes for a very quick and simple card.

Make sure you pop back here on Saturday morning to see news of our first BLOG HOP of the year to launch not one but two fantastic new downloads created by our wonderful leader, Anice. The winner will receive a copy of each download so you don't even have to make a decision as to which one you would like!

Thanks for calling by.

The butterflies are cut with a Quickutz die and everything else is from my stash!
Thanks for looking.

ICS DT call

I know I said a while ago that I wasn't going to apply for any more DTs but I loved this sketch of Dawn's and needed to make a thank you card for my lovely MIL so I decided to use the sketch. I'm still not sure whether or not to put my card forward but I will show you why I needed the card in the first place. My MIL went to the Black Forest on holiday a few weeks ago and this is what she brought me back.......Me in my ignorance thought the flowers were snowdrops or blue bells but apparently they are fuchsias! It is actually a sun catcher but I'm going to frame it to keep it clean. I lived in Germany for seven years as my dad was in the RAF and we never went to the Black Forest, however, DH has now said he will add it to our 'to do' list........at this rate I'll be about 150 by the time I achieve all I want to achieve LOL.

So onto my cutie little card and Dawn's sketch.....

Stamp Something

This week is a sketch and last week was a Clean and Simple Thank You card

Paper is more left over from the albums and is a double sided paper by Papermania, image is a Pink Petticoat download and the flowers are Prima finished with an Anita's crystal gem in the centre. DH is djing at a wedding tonight and this was for him to take with him.

I love clean and simple cards (in case you hadn't noticed LOL) so this challenge was right up my street! The paper is from the new Regency pad by Papermania Signature and it is lovely. The sentiment is from a Clear on Clear stamp set, the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the gems are Anita's.

And a partridge...........

.....in a pear, oh no sorry, wrong song :) Frosty the snowman la la la

I won't sing any more, it can be very painful on the ears LOL I've just made a couple of very quick cards today. I've done another one using Kazan's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You (see the sketch below)Snow flake paper is from the Anita's Blue Christmas pad again, the spotty paper and the greeting stamp are from Debbi Moore and were part of one of my design kits and the image is from the same Avec stamp set as mentioned below which has been mounted onto two punched ovals.

The second card was a quick 10 minute one as I had forgotten about this one and remembered at 11.45 when my friend was due to collect it at 12!!!

Paint can and brush are Thin Cuts (which I haven't used like........forever!), the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the screw brads are from Crafts By Carolyn

I have made something else but won't be showing that until tomorrow as someone else needs to see it first!

I've had another 'one of those days' where I seem to have been busy all day and achieved very little. I got the seating plan all parcelled and sent this morning, I made the cards and 'other thing' and have had people in and out all day. I also have a blooming great big stye which has appeared on my right eye and is hampering my vision slightly. I have never had one in my life before and it is horrid!!

So tomorrow I have 5 wedding invitations (to supplement an order) and a wedding card to make, more Christmas cards, mum and dad are coming over and I have a large pile of i***ing to do...........guess what won't get done :))

Take care, thanks for looking

Thank you...........

....cards are disappearing fast from my stock box, there are some very grateful people out there! Here's one I made last night inbetween trying to get ready for the open day at a local hotel today. The image is Penny Black 'Uplifting Occasions and I've used Promarkers and Sakura Stardust pens to colour it. I only have four Promarkers so far but have never thought of using them to colour images..........I use them for labelling cds *duh*. I thought I would give them a try as I've seen a couple of people mention that they are using them now, and the Sakura Stardust, I just love :)

I can also now show the seating plan etc that I did this week as the couple got married yesterday.
The tables were all names after horses and had a photograph of Mick Fitzgerald as the background.
The gift bag was for a little girl who was on the invitation as 'Bump'. She's 10 months old now, I couldn't believe that I had been working for these people all that time!
That's it for tonight folks, I'm bushed.
Thanks for looking.

Almost done

My list is shorten really fast at the moment so I shall also add this week's, it is full to the brim as usual! :)

Left on the list are:-
another breast cancer awareness phone charm done
finish my samples for Debbi Moore done (I can't show these until Debbi gives me the nod)

Seating plan, 10 table names and 80 place cards in progress and will hopefully be finished tomorrow!

three birthday cards and a bracelet as a b'day pressie Done (I can only show one at the mo as the other two are for forum birthdays)

And finally a challenge card - hooray. I made a card for MiL to say thank you for all her help last weekend, I couldn't have done it without her.

This card fits the DCM Dare for this week which is set by Rhi

NOW ! - on to this weeks dare - we have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

I have used K & Co Somerset paper (as that is where the card is going :)) Flowers are Prima, brads are Doodlebug and the little bird stamp, I think, is by Rhonna Farrer.

Now onto this weeks list

Monday

finish wedding order, take DD to the dentist then a Chinese buffet for tea

Tuesday and Wednesday

both free but I want to try and do a bit of scrapbooking

Thursday

Hair cut and coloured

Friday

Facial

Saturday

Pedicure

It's going to be hell but someone has to do it :)

Enjoy your Sunday and this fab weather.

Another day.....

..............another (dollar :)) thank you card! This time I've used the new Page Plans card sketch 7 and I'm really pleased with the result.Spotty paper is by Junkitz, blue and pink card is Bazzill and the flowers are Prima. The blue corner card has been run through the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug and edged with pink ribbon. The greeting this time is the flower centre attached with a large pink spotty brad.

Rock a bye baby

I came into my studio last night to make a birthday card for DH for work tonight, two thank you cards and a birthday card for a teenager and this is what I ended up with!

I'm not sure where the idea for this one came from but I'm really pleased with it and it also fits the first challenge on a brand new blog called Stamp Something and this is what they were looking for OK, now to the challenge! This whole endeavor is a first for all of us, so in keeping with the theme of "Firsts," our challenge this week will be "First Somethings." Challenge yourself to try something entirely new. Attempt a new layout or color combination or a new technique or fancy fold/card style that you've been wanting to try but have been putting off. You could also just keep with the theme of "Firsts" and make a card for a first birthday, a first baby, a first house, a first car, or any other first you can think of. Keep it as simple or as complicated as you'd like.

The image was sat on my desk from playing with my new stamps the other day. It's another Maggie stamp and I thought it was perfect for a new baby card (I plan to make another one later in blue) The curtains were cut from Pink Petticoat paper, the 'wallpaper' is from The Funky One Bows and peel off are from my stash.
The second card is the one I came to make for DH. He is DJing a 50th birthday party this evening and always takes a card for the client.

The numbers are handcut again using a paper from The Funky One by Anice, the background has been Cuttlebugged using the Swiss Dots folder and the birthday cake is a Sizzlit die.

My last card for now is one of the thank you cards I needed to make.

Paper is from one of the new Papermania 6x6 pads, the stamp is Hero Arts coloured with pearlescent paints and tied with pale pink organza ribbon and the greeting is from Craftwork Cards. Sorry about the naff photo but it was taken at about 11.15 last night.

Now I need to make another thank you card and a birthday card for a teenage girl and then back to the stationery.

Whatever you are up to this weekend, have a good one. Thanks for looking.

Thank you

I received this beautiful card on Wednesday morning from Jo, a new blogging friend. It really brightened what was otherwise a grim, wet day.
Thanks again Jo, it made my day (and I bought those papers this morning *oops*)
