Fabulous Fuchsias

I missed this set of stamps and dies from Clearly Besotted when they were released in March but managed to get them last week and boy, were they worth the wait, I absolutely love them!

It took me about 15 minutes to make this card as for my daughter as she was going to a birthday party on Saturday evening

and I liked it so much that I decided to make a thank you card for a lovely lady (who helped my daughter and her boyfriend with some very useful advice) and it took me blooming ages as I couldn't get the dies lined up with the stamps. In the end I decided to use the simple uncoloured stamps and was really pleased with it again.

I then decided to make another birthday card to pop in the box in the nail boutique/hairdressers who stock my cards. This was a quick make too as the dies lined up with the stamps straight away! This time hubby snaffled it for his aunt whose birthday is at the end of the month.
I think I might just make another birthday card when everyone is out of the house and smuggle it into the shop in among a pile of other cards waiting to go to the shop lol.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Funky Friday

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!

Oh dear, I started writing this post at 8.30 this morning and I got side tracked. The time is now 1.35 and I think it's time I finished it lol. There's not much happening apart from work today except that I'm going out at about 3.30. I will tell all, with pictures, tomorrow ;)

Ok, cards.....I've made a few cards for hubby this week as his stock for his night job was getting low. I made him some birthday cards earlier in the week and the following cards were made yesterday.

Right, that's it, I'm off. Back soon xx

And finally...

...my own personal Christmas cards, my dad's birthday cards (for his birthday on Boxing Day!) some wedding cards made yesterday for hubby to take to work with him.

The stamps used on these cards (all 52 of them) are from Clearly Besotted Stamps and they were just what I was looking for. I wanted something modern but elegant and I think these stamps are right on the button :) I just popped over the Stephanie's web site to get the link to post on here and it's cost me nearly £20 lol I can see me being a regular at Clearly Besotted! The two cards below were also made using CB stamps.

The following few cards were made using the Lili of the Valley pre-coloured images.
Dad's birthday card
and the favours I made for the dinner table at the hotel....Lindt Lindor chocs, mmmmmmmmm

This plaque was made to put on the grave of grandparents. The lady who commissioned it sent me the verse and I did the rest. The verse is laminated and the edges are sealed with Diamond Glaze. The plaque has had about 8 coats of varnish so it should last for a while.

I've just realised that I haven't cropped these photos, I will do it tomorrow and replace them.

Take care and enjoy your evening. xx

Tuesday

More birthday cards for the stand (and still the paper/card mountain hasn't diminished any :))

Papers - Funky Hand, image stickers - Me To You, frame and sentiment - Craftwork Cards and all other bits and bobs are from my craft box
Image - LOTV, papers are left over from a previous project and flowers are Prima

Papers - My Minds Eye, image panel - Craftwork Cards
Papers - left overs and sentiment/image - Craftwork Cards
Paper - My Mind's Eye, sentiment panel - as before
left over papers, panel and Card Candy - Craftwork Cards, flowers - Prima
Stamp - I think it's from Stampendous but am not 100% sure, papers are leftovers, frame is cut from gold card and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, flowers were punched. I'm putting this card through for the challenge over on the Sir Stampalot blog which is entitled "It's A Frame Up". The gold on my card is actually a framp which is supported with foam squares but it doesn't come across in the photo so I will try to get a better one tomorrow before I pack the card away.

Bye for now. x

Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Tis here again (although I missed it last week, I left my camera at work with my photos on!!) anyway, it's over to the Julia's Stamping Ground blog to have nosey at everyone's workdesks!

Here's mine

Tomorrow is my mum's birthday and the cards on my desk are the ones I made her this morning, next to the cards are some commissioned birthday invitations, the blue basket and the lilac basket on my drawer contain the last stages of two wedding orders I'm doing. On top of the bookcase behind the drawer is a box full of favours and there is a basket on this side of the desk with more wedding orders in. oh and there is a box on the floor next to my desk with an invitation order in it. Guess who is working late tomorrow and staying over at the shop! :)

Back soon. x

My 'To Do' List

I finally managed to get my to do list cracked off, well most of it anyway!
So, the first item on the list is make crackers

along with the ties for the napkins and the choccy money I used as table confetti! I also made place cards which I forgot to add to my list.
The next thing on my list is 2 necklaces for DD2 and her best friend.
I only managed to photograph this one as DD needed the one for her friend straight away but it's very similar to this one, just a few different beads!
Then I had a gardeners book for my mum which I abandoned as I ran out of time. She didn't know she was getting one so I can make it any time.
A birthday book for my brother..........I was cheeky here and wrote everyone's birthdays in it!! It made him laugh :)
I also decided to make one for DD1. The papers used on the first one are by Little Yellow Bicycle and the second one are Brenda Pinnick.
So next I did a Post it Note holder for DS
I also decided to make one for DH as uses post its when he's djing, for writing down requests.
Dad's birthday cards which I finally got finished at 2.30 am on Christmas Day!!!
Large letters were cut on the Robo using Doodlebug 'Bazzil' card and the rub ons (I think) are by Mambi. the candles were hand cut using some oddments of K & Co papers from the mat stacks. The card was based on the little self adhesive cake button in the bottom corner. I think it's from a Sue Dreamer sheet.
The house was cleaned to within an inch of it's life and 'most' of the ironing was done and the rest was shoved into our bedroom :)
So the new list looks something like this:

My 'To Do' List
a gardeners year book for my mum
cd clock for DS's best friend (no rush because he's a JW and doesn't celebrate Christmas so will give it to him next week)
5 forum birthday cards

Debbi Moore samples from new kit
DD1's wedding invitations

Slider card

I've never made one of these before but needed a special card for my friend's 60th birthday but from her great nieces. Her sister (the lady who ordered it) thought it was great!

I used K & Co papers and Prima flowers. I also made a little envelope and stuck it on the back so the little ones could write her a note.
This next card was ordered by the birthday girl from above for her granddaughter's birthday.
The large 2 was cut by hand...........what a job I had trying to get all sides even. I should really have cut it on the Robo! Papers again are K & Co, hefalump is Penny Black, ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the Vintage Berries are from Craftwork Cards

I also made a couple of Post it Note holders to complete the orders, along with the earrings below.
More K & Co papers, this time from the 12 x 12 Baby pad

Happy Birthday to you

Both DH and DD2 celebrated their birthdays last week, September is an expensive month in the Scruff's household!. DH had his on Friday and I finally finished his cards on Thursday evening (as you do!!)Backing papers are a mix of K & Co mat stacks and Love Elsie and all apart from the Love Elsie paper were from my left overs box. It appears to be going down ever so slowly :)

My baby, DD2, was 15 on Sunday! here are her cards :)

She is always telling us that when she gets married she wants a Jordan style wedding *gasp*, the more pink and blingy the better, so I tried to reflect this in her card............and succeeded, she loved it! LOL Oh and as well as loving all things pink and girly, she also loves.......................Spongebob Squarepants!!! I'm hoping it's a passing phase, I can't somehow see me organising a Spongebob wedding :))

This time all papers again were from 'the box' and everything else was from my stash. The photos on both cards are scans of labels from various items of clothing, bedding etc.

I posted off another box of cards to Emma yesterday for the Forces Appeal My mum brought over 35 cards and I made another 41 and just ran out of inspiration! I sent 121 last week (cos I can't count :)) which totalled 19 and meant to make the number up to 200.............and forgot. After the parcel was posted I came back into my craft room to do some more work and the final three cards were still on my desk. What a muppet!! I will post them on though the next time I go to the PO.

And that is it for now. I'm waiting for the nice repair man to come and fix the dishwasher, washing up in the sink sucks..........but then again, so does life in general at the moment.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Back to work

..............and having great difficulty getting my backside into gear :)
I made a christening album and guest book and delivered them on Wednesday. They were for a lady whose grandchildren are being christened together, the eldest is four so the books couldn't be too babyish. This is what I came up with and she was really pleased with them. They had to be done quickly as the client has flown to Las Vagas today on holiday!!!

I just kept them really simple and used pale pink and pale blue throughout. Both albums were tied with blue and pink organza ribbon from Ribbon Oasis The children's names were printed onto tags and strung between two die cut doves on silver cord. The albums were then finished off with silver Bible charms.

I also had an order for 13 thank you cards waiting for me when I got back, five bridesmaid, one chief bridesmaid, a flower girl, a best man, one page boy and four ushers.

I got my new kit from Debbi Moore on Wednesday too and need to get those done so here is my new
'To do' list
cards for Debbi
necklace for Rosie
birthday card for niece
wedding card
5 cards for September birthdays
brother's scrapbook
seating plan and table names (just waiting for details from bride and groom)
prepare for a wedding open day on 6th September

Let's hope it works as well as it did before I went away :)

Take care, thanks for looking and I am looking forward to having a blog hop later!
