Happy Birthday....

Crafting Muskateers. Another month has passed us by in a flash and it's May already! It's also time for the Crafting Muskateers new challenge and we are celebrating our first birthday....where has the last year gone!?!.So onto the challenge which this month is sponsored by Katie Sue Designs.
This is their prize for the winner

For our birthday celebration , we will be doing our usual prize for the winner, but also there will be small mystery prizes for the top 3.
The top 3 will also have the chance to be guest designers with us, with us along with the winner.

So, the challenge for this month is "anything but a square" and this is my card
I used a Nestabilities Grand Decorative Oval die #1 for the card blank, Mr & Mrs stamps by Woodware, hand rolled flowers, silver mirri card and white satin ribbon. My card was part of an order and this is the matching keepsake box I made....
using the same hand rolled roses, die cut leaves and white satin ribbon. My client loved it. :)

I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine we are having in the UK at the moment.
Back soon, take care xx

Keep it safe!

This box was a commission and was supposed to be blogged on Saturday but as I haven't felt much like doing anything, I'm playing catch up again!

I've made quite a few of these personalised boxes for the same customer, in all colours, (as well as loads of cards)  it's so lovely getting repeat custom :)

I've used a mix of die cut flowers and paper tea roses and buds along with the beautiful red ribbon and diamantes. The red card matched the ribbon perfectly.

Thanks Jen, your orders are much appreciated. xx

Funky Friday

Can't live with it, can't live without it....I'm talking about the blooming internet. I have loads to do at the moment and what happens? Our blooming internet died on me yesterday lunch time. Hubby tried ringing them when he got in to find out if there was a problem and finally after 4 hours he got a person on the end of the phone. He went through all the technical stuff, you know, "switch the router off and back on again, has that worked mate?" then after 15 minutes he concludes that there isn't a fault at their end and he needs to get an engineer out to us but the earliest he can come is Saturday at 12 noon!!!! Late yesterday evening I texted my daughter to ask her to put a note on my Facebook page only to find out that their internet is off as is half of their street.....but there isn't a fault registered. Anyway, we got up this morning and miraculously, it had come back on. It has dropped out a few times today but not for long.

So onto my Funky Friday card :) Did you see the zingy free paper Anice made for this month's challenge? Well although I didn't use it on my Get Funky! cards (I thought it was a bit too funky for my dad lol) I decided to use it on my card for today.

The following card was made with off cuts from my Funky Hand scrap folder and the 'piece de resistance' is my box! I wanted to make one of these ages ago when I received one in a Secret Santa a few years ago when it was filled with Begian chocolates, not your pretend ones, these were from Bruges :)
The papers on the above card were left over from my Spring Has Sprung dt cards and the butterflies were cut using a punch, I think it was a Papermania one.

that's my lot for tonight. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so am off upstairs to put my jimjams on and snuggle on the settee with a cup of hot chocolate! See you tomorrow.

Saturday

My final project of the week was a total transformation....I suppose it could also be called an altered keepsake box as it went from this

to this

I bought the sparkly glitter card in the Range about a year ago, not for anything in particular but because it was a new delivery and I liked it and so it sat in a drawer up until now!! The only problem with it is that the glitter comes off and I ended up totally covered in it. It's for the same girl who the exploding box is for and her mum was really pleased with it when she came to collect it.
And that's the lot for now. I need to go and prepare dinner then it's shower and hair dried before the X Factor and a quick blog hop during.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Keepsake box

The theme on Secret Crafter's blog this week is wedding (right up my street!) and as I've had a couple of wedding orders I've been working on this week I can take part :)

The butterflies are cut with a Quickutz die and everything else is from my stash!
Thanks for looking.

Congratulations!

My brother and his girlfriend got engaged during the week so as I wanted the card to be a bit special, I made them an acetate card. I really love using acetate on cards and they are always well received as they are a little bit special. Tina loves angels so I made a little beaded charm to hang on the front of the card.
The sentiment is a rub on by MSE Scalloped card - Ruffles - Craftwork Cards Congrats rub on - Letraset Everything else from stash

Fresh and Funky
These were all made for a display in a local wedding shop who are good enough to advertise my work for me.

Happy Birthday Mum...

.....slightly late but never mind! Mum's birthday was the 21st but we had the party on the 20th and she loved every minute of it. When she arrived she thought we were just having a family bbq as Matthew's mum was up from Somerset for the weekend then she saw the other 18 people in our garden :) Her face was a picture and all day she just kept saying "is all this really for me". It made all the late nights and the hard work worthwhile!

Here are mum and dad making their entrance (the big fat lump with them is me!) I handed them both a glass of bubbly and hubby had set up the cd player to play Happy Birthday.

The marquee as we were setting up (we borrowed the large white one from a friend and put our gazebo on the end)

We managed to seat 21 at tables without having to borrow any furniture! We didn't realise that we had so much :)

Here are the pressies I made for the birthday girl.

and her jewellery was the same as this but without the earrings.

And a good time was had by all :) We are all going out for lunch today as my sister was in Turkey and din't make the party. We also had to agree to this in order to keep the party a secret.

Thanks for looking.
