Kathy's Waffle

Kathy posted the new sketch a little while ago but I only managed to get it done last night as I put the wedding stationery to one side for a couple of hours and had a play :)

I used my lovely Grow papers from the Bloom and Grow collection by My Mind's Eye along with the matching Bazzill card. The flowers are Prima and everything else is from my stash. Letters are Quickutz Olivia which have been cut from the same paper.

Craft Robo

...is a bit poorly me thinks :( It started snagging the paper a while back so about February time I thought I would treat it to a new blade and I had snapped the end off the blade holder somehow. Now the Robo is one of those things which I desperately wanted for my business and was going to reach the sky with but I have never had the time to play and practise with it. Although I have had it three years I have never got to grips with it except for cutting words (I am really embarrassed to admit this to the world) If I had had someone to sit and show me what to do then I would probably have managed ok but I don't think my brain is wired up to take in instructions on it's own. With my phone, camera, lap top etc DH has to read all my instructions, then explain it to me a thousand times, then eventually it goes in and if it doesn't..........well he is totally genned up anyway so can get me out of any hole I happen to be in at the time ;)

Anyway to cut a long story short, it's a few weeks since I put the new blade in and tried it. I need to cut a few words to make some quick cards and the damn thing still won't cut properly. I tried it with the pen (for the first time) and it wrote perfectly.
and this is what it's doing to the paper!

This was cut on 100gsm copier paper. Before I bought the new blade I was cutting Bazzill card ok but with two cuts.

If anyone out there has any ideas (in words of one syllable) then they would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

Kathy's sketch

I don't know how I missed this one, it has been in my 'to do' folder for ages ;) I'm still making Mother's day cards for the shops so these sketches, challenges etc are coming in very handy. I thought I'd made enough Mother's day cards but I was very obviously mistaken.......Clinton cards had better watch out LOLThe image is a free sticker from the front of a mag, I've used Bazzill card, dotty Doodlebug paper and I'm not sure what the blue and yellow paper is and the rest is from my stash.

Cuttlebug embossing folders

Leigh has posted a "Just for fun" challenge on the Just Bex forum and here is what she said "Ok so a while back, a few of us vowed to do something inspiring with the little cuttlebug folders we have gathering dust. here is a wedding card I made this week using one." I made a couple of cards a while ago which fit the brief.
The folders were used on the first one 'as they come', on the second card I used Bazzill card and just rubbed over the embossed square with an emery board!

As promised, more challenges are done. I actually did some of them yesterday but didn't get done as many as I liked. Anyway, here goes:

Challenge 5-Sugar & Spice...and all things nice Anything edible for this challenge please. LO'S and cards welcome Image by Pink Petticoat coloured and doodled with a pink Sakura glitter pen and mounted onto two shades of pink card. The greeting is stamped using a Seedee stamp and bright pink ink.

Backing paper is from Pink Petticoat (see above), flowers are from Craftwork Cards and the buttons and sticky ribbon are Anita's/Papermania. The bow is tied using a satin ribbon from Ribbon Oasis.
August Challenge 7-Touchy Feely
We want cards and LO's good enough to touch, feel and stroke. It's all about textures for this challenge.
The backing squares are a linen feel paper from Lakeland (which I've had in a drawer for ages and just found again!) The blue card is embossed with the Happy Birthday plate from Cuttlebug, the Scottie dog is cut from glitter card and the collar is a beautiful soft velvet ribbon from the Limeade Twist mini mix from Ribbon Oasis.
August Challenge 6-A little Gem

The flowers on this card are two different sized Page Frills by Doodlebug mounted onto black and white card, the sentiment is stamped in white and double mounted and the card is finished off with organza ribbon.
August Challenge 9-Button It!
Cards, LO's or whatever you want for this challenge as long as you use buttons. New work only please xx
The stamp is from the Seedee Vintage set (and has to be one of my favourite stamps) stamped in lilac and mounted first onto lilac paper from an old Papermania pack, then onto lilac Stardream card. Buttons are from Crafts by Carolyn and the greeting is stamped and mounted onto foam pads to give it a 3D effect.
And last but not least (for now)
August Challenge 10 - Pick a Card
any card............ and then make a card with it ooo MAGIC!!!
Mini cards mounted onto red Bazzill and gold card and tied with a pale gold organza ribbon. The greeting was printed on the pc.

Well that's it for now. I have work to do and I want to try to do an hour tidying the garden.
