Thank you card

A quick card from me today using one of my favourite product ranges from Kanban Crafts. The design sheets are fabulous for making quick modern cards

Materials used are: 6x6" scallop edged card blank, silver mirri card, topper & elements are Friendship Lollipops & Mats Kanban 901567, clear gems and paper is from the Love & Marriage paper pad 901539.

I'll try to come back later with today's work as I'm in favour box mode today and am making them for an open evening (wedding fayre) on Thursday evening at the Holiday Inn, Doncaster from 6pm till 9pm. If you're looking to get married in the Doncaster area this is the place I would recommend. There are two fabulous venues which will be set up as for a wedding and the top recommended suppliers will be there to chat with you. The difference between a wedding fayre and an open evening is that we DO have the time to speak to you properly unlike at a wedding fayre when there are loads of exhibitors all vying for your attention.

If you do come along then please come and say hello, I'm the one with the wedding stationery. xx

November wedding

At the beginning of November I had an order for a wedding for a lovely couple who were getting married in a stately hall and wanted a vintagey feel to the wedding. The bride's dress was champagne lace so everything was based around that.

These invitations and matching RSVP cards have been a big hit, in fact I did 3 orders in a row with them last summer.

Other items for the first wedding above are as follows
and

I also made the Bride's head piece and the place cards :) They are a really lovely couple. I've known Judith (the Bride) for a long time as her sister is a dear friend of mine, and I wish them and all my lovely couples from last year a long and happy life together.

I look forward to meeting a lot more couples this year talking of which we have our first Open Evening of the year at the Holiday Inn, J36 A1M Doncaster on 30th January this year. If you are thinking of getting married in Doncaster this year, or next, then come along and talk to us. It's a lovely informal evening where not only do you get the chance to see both venues, The Manor Complex and Warmsworth Hall, laid out for a wedding, you get the chance to speak to the recommended suppliers without being jostled and having leaflets shoved in your face lol. If you do come along, please come and say hello :) xx

Happy new year

Good morning everyone, I hope everything is ok on this very miserable (the weather in Scruff's Corner!) last day of December 2013. Will you be making any resolutions this year? I haven't made any for years except for a couple which I kept to myself in case I broke them lol....do they count or do you have to tell people what they are? One thing I would like more than anything (except for the obvious one's like no more rain on the poor flooded people, jobs for all etc) I would really like it if someone could make the year go a little slower than this year, I can't believe how fast 2013 disappeared!

Before I disappear again to make a seating plan for the Holiday Inn's Gala Night tonight I would just like to let you know that the winners have been chosen over on the Crafting Muskateers blog....why not hop over, it might be you :)

I hope you have a lovely safe and warm night tonight and that 2014 is your year to make your wishes come true. xx

Wedding fever

The wedding season is in full swing now and it will probably stay this way until around Halloween. We then, generally get a couple of weeks to start planning C*******s cards and the weddings pick up again. Up until four or five years ago the weddings came to an abrupt halt at the end of October then started again in a vengeance at the end of January. This doesn't happen any more, I'm getting stationery orders all year round now which is great. I now supply one of local Holiday Inns with the favours and on the day stationery for their 'Whirlwind Wedding' package deal and today's wedding colours are plum and ivory. Hubs was djing at the wedding so I just added my name to the card I made for him to give to the happy couple.

Materials used:- C6 card blank, a piece of plum card printed fro a Pink Petticoat download, silver mirri card, black and white image from The Digistamp Boutique, Henry & Zoe Get Married.....so cute. The flower is from a diamante pack from Create & Craft and the ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Thanks for looking. xx

Passion........

..For Promarkers set the theme of "Celebrations" for their last challenge and as we have birthdays on Christmas day and Boxing day in our family it was easy to fit this challenge in with my last minute makes. I did a few different celebratory cards but am only entering the first one into the challenge as none of the others use Promarkers on them.

My first card is for hubby's nephew who was eight on Christmas day.

Image is Skateboard Ian from the Greeting Farm, paper is by Kanban (freebie) and MME, the rub on letters are Doodlebug and the rest is from my craft cupboard.
Papers are Sweet Love by First Edition, sentiment stamp is from a set of Kids Quotes by Inkadinkadoo, greeting is from Craftwork Cards, flowers are die cut and premade paper roses and the ribbon is from my craft room.
The guest book was a last minute commission which came in two days before the wedding!
Quote is from a set by Stampendous (I just love them) and everything else is from my stock. I found the ribbon (it reads Health, wealth, happiness, fertility, long life) and the tiny silver stick on hearts when I was sorting through a drawer a couple of weeks ago...I don't know how long they had been there but I unearthed other stuff too which will make an appearance over the coming weeks :)

The last card was for my dad who was 75 on Boxing Day.
The big numbers are made using Word as I showed in a tutorial a while ago, I have 'misplaced' my large numbers since I put them somewhere where 'I would know straight away where to look!!' Papers are by MME again.

As well as the Passion For Promarkers challenge I am going to enter my cards in the following challenges

Thanks for looking. I have a table plan to make today for one of the Holiday Inn, Doncaster for their New Years Eve dinner tomorrow evening so must crack on. I'm hoping to come back later and show case my five favourite Christmas cards, oh, and I have some really good news to share.
