Funky Friday

I really can't believe that it's only 6 days since Christmas! We are out tonight and then tomorrow when I get home the decorations will come down and that's it gone properly for another year. I have a special request for 2013...please slow down, 2012 disappeared all too quickly.

Now I know it's only Monday but I wanted to tell you about the sale which is on until the 2nd January and I wanted to update my blog with my final Funky Hand cards and I can start anew on Friday :)

Thank you for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments, they really do mean a lot.
Take care xx

WOYWW

This is serious!

You have been warned.......this post is so serious that it has it's own sub-heading!!

I joined the new bloggy/Facebook challenge - a Card a Day blogging (with a difference - the difference being that it's not really a challenge more of a foot up the back side of like minded shirking bloggers :) It's really to encourage us to restart our daily creating and blogging and more importantly visiting the lovely people who leave us comments.)

I've got the creating off to a tee as you will see shortly, my problem is that I have trouble finding the time to blog what I've made therefore I don't leave my link. I need to get back into it properly and take 10 minutes after I have made my project to add it to the blog and to comment on those above me.....that's the theory anyway.

So now onto my workdesk (the really serious bit. If you are of a nervous disposition please look away now.

Yes folks, it's that time again, I'm making Christmas cards and how I find anything in this mess is beyond me but I actually know where everything is lol I really need to tidy up quickly though as I'm at the opticians this afternoon and have a lady coming to see me this evening about coming to make her Christmas cards, if I leave it like this she might just run a mile :)

Right, you've had a nosey at my room so now you need to call over to the blog of Mrs Dunnit and add your own.

Thanks for looking, back soon. xx

Kanban Thursday

Hi everyone, well I'm now back from a fabulous two weeks in Zakynthos. Two weeks of wall to wall sunshine and temperatures of 35 during the day and 29 at 11 o'clock at night, of no house work and the only decision I had to make was what I wanted for my dinner at night! It now seems a millions years ago after I've caught up with the housework, the washing done and sorted out my 974 emails :). However, the ironing pile stares at me every time I go in the kitchen so that is this mornings task!

My 'To Do' list is growing too with a pile of birthday and Christmas cards to make, restock the web site etc etc., oh and the accounts are calling too :) I'm going to make a start on my DT cards for next week too as I only made up until tomorrow before I went away as I ran out of time (the story of my life!).

So onto my Kanban cards for this week

My top 9

I realise that I said I would be back with my top five Christmas cards but it has taken me until now (on and off) to choose and can't get down further than nine, so here goes

I hope you like them all. I will edit later to list all the materials used.
TFL, I will be back tomorrow with my news as I would like to see out the old and see in the New Years on a high :)

Passion........

..For Promarkers set the theme of "Celebrations" for their last challenge and as we have birthdays on Christmas day and Boxing day in our family it was easy to fit this challenge in with my last minute makes. I did a few different celebratory cards but am only entering the first one into the challenge as none of the others use Promarkers on them.

My first card is for hubby's nephew who was eight on Christmas day.

Image is Skateboard Ian from the Greeting Farm, paper is by Kanban (freebie) and MME, the rub on letters are Doodlebug and the rest is from my craft cupboard.
Papers are Sweet Love by First Edition, sentiment stamp is from a set of Kids Quotes by Inkadinkadoo, greeting is from Craftwork Cards, flowers are die cut and premade paper roses and the ribbon is from my craft room.
The guest book was a last minute commission which came in two days before the wedding!
Quote is from a set by Stampendous (I just love them) and everything else is from my stock. I found the ribbon (it reads Health, wealth, happiness, fertility, long life) and the tiny silver stick on hearts when I was sorting through a drawer a couple of weeks ago...I don't know how long they had been there but I unearthed other stuff too which will make an appearance over the coming weeks :)

The last card was for my dad who was 75 on Boxing Day.
The big numbers are made using Word as I showed in a tutorial a while ago, I have 'misplaced' my large numbers since I put them somewhere where 'I would know straight away where to look!!' Papers are by MME again.

As well as the Passion For Promarkers challenge I am going to enter my cards in the following challenges

Thanks for looking. I have a table plan to make today for one of the Holiday Inn, Doncaster for their New Years Eve dinner tomorrow evening so must crack on. I'm hoping to come back later and show case my five favourite Christmas cards, oh, and I have some really good news to share.

Christmas time....

mistletoe and wine...........I think that's enough of that one :)

I hope you all had a good weekend. Has all the 'fluffy white stuff' gone from where you are? Ours has and we are now back to green. I wonder how long it will last though as more is forecast for Thursday and temps are set to plummet again! I wonder what the country has learnt from the last three weeks or so and if they will put it all into practice :) Probably not and everywhere will end up gridlocked again lol

Below are the cards from an order I received last week. I managed to get them all finished by Friday and they are now all packed and ready to go.

The cards are made from an assortment of decoupage toppers and papers by Nancy Watt and Papermania. I've added the odd die cut here and there, a few gem, lots of Glamour Dust and typewritten sentiments. I hope you like them :)

Back soon, thanks for looking. xx
