Oblong layers

It's time for an update over on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File challenge and boy do Kathy's sketches challenge you :) Take a look at these.....

The second sketch works perfectly with the C6 card I used for my sample. All the papers and image on this card are available on the Funky Hand web site. Why not have a go yourself and show us what you have done?

Take care, back soon xx

Kathy's Waffle

We are back from our rather long Christmas break over on the Kathy's Waffle Sketch File blog and Kathy has welcomed 2014 in with a bang with not one sketch but 3!

Here's what Kathy has to say:

"Our new, February Sketch is simple in format but we think it offers lots of opportunities for many different projects and themes so we hope you'll give it a try. You can share any sort of crafting project that you've used our sketch for - it can be the whole project, or perhaps form just an element of a card, layout...whatever - it's up to you."

I hope you can pop over to the blog for a little bit of inspiration using these sketches and we look forward to seeing what you make!

Bfn xx

Waffle, waffle, waffle

We're just a little bit late with this challenge on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File, but it's not the end of the world :) I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it and have no desire to change it in any way, or should that be 'I've no desire to change it yet '. lol

Anyway, I hope you like it as much as I do and I would really love it if you would join in with us please.
The papers are from the new 'Boys Will Be Boys' downloadable kit from Funky Hand so you'll able to start playing with it as soon as you have ordered it :)

Thanks for dropping by and I can't wait to see what you make with your download.
Take care. x

Kathy's Waffle

Good morning everybody, are you enjoying the sunshine here in Britain? It seems to have disappeared this morning but I'm hoping it will make an appearance at some point today, I'm getting used to my little 'forays' into the garden on an afternoon :) I've just had a lovely little wheelbarrow planter made so I'd like to get that painted today if possible as I've got Busy Lizzies waiting to go into it.

As it's the beginning of the month it's the start of the new Sketch Challenge and as always Kathy has come up with a brilliant one. She has also rotated the sketch so you can see how to use it in a different way.

My blogging is so erratic at the moment that I am building up a nice little back log of projects to show on here. As it's a Kathy's Waffle new sketch post I thought it would be ok to post the last couple of cards I mad for last month's sketch.

The beautiful stamps are from Clearly Besotted (which I am), Full of Surprise. I've also used some narrow pink gingham ribbon and an off cut of lace, both of which were in my scrap box.
The absolutely gorgeous papers used on this card are from the new Autumn papers which haven't been released yet.

I hope you will use it and pop back and show us what you've made :)

Thanks for dropping by.

Kathy's Waffle

There is still time to join in with the challenge over on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File if you so wish and here is the sketch which you will be required to follow :) It can be upside down, inside out or whatever other way you wish to use it just so long as we can still see the sketch! You're not limited to making a card either, make whatever you like, again as long as we can still see the sketch it's up to you.
Here is the sketch you are required to follow

This card was made in it's entirety from a Docrafts card kit (which I didn't realise at the time of buying, I thought it was just a couple of pretty papers in the pack!) with the exception of the ric-rac and brads which came from my stock. I've made two cards from the kit so far and still have loads left.
For this card I used an old Craftwork Cards topper that I found in a box a while ago. Isn't it amazing what you find when you're not looking for it :) The papers are by Funky Hand and I think the flowers are part Prima, part Sarah'a Flowers and part Docrafts. The big pearl brad in the centre is from my stock.

Don't forget to leave us a message if you join in with our challenge then we can come over and see what you've made.

Thanks for dropping by and sorry I haven't been around for a while but I haven't been very well, just about all better now though :)

A new sketch

As it's the beginning of the month, it's new sketch time at  Kathy's Waffle Sketch File and as always it is a "goodun".

or you might prefer to use it in it's rotated form
You may even turn it upside down or back to front if you so wish. As long as we can see the sketch in your work you are free to use it how you like. You are not limited to cards either, try using it as a scrapbook page for instance. We are really looking forward to see what you come up with. Add yourself to Mr Linky at the bottom of the post and we will drop by to admire your work.

Don't forget to pop over to see what the design team have come up with to inspire you.

October challenge

The first Tuesday of the month means that it is time to unveil the new sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch Challenge. It's a really versatiled sketch and I plan to use a few more times this month :)You can use it however you want and on what you want as long as we can still see the sketch. Here it is
and here is my card (a Kanban card and it's not even Thursday)
Please excuse the glare on the photo, it was taken last night in artificial light. I have tried
re-taking the picture but it hasn't made any difference in this manky, dank old day!!

Gold mirror board
Kanban Pearlescent card
Industriana paper pad
PCT2124 Steam Punk ribbons
PCT2120 Copperfield craft toppers
PCT1883 Life's Journey sentiment
Gold coloured buttons
Gold organza ribbon

I'm also going to add my card to
Emma's Cards Uk - a card for a man
Di's Snippet challenge - use your scraps!!

Thanks for dropping by :)

Wedding cards

Good evening, late again lol I've been meaning to write this post for the last couple of hours but got my nose stuck into an online magazine which had some really interesting articles in it, hence the late hour!! Here are a few more quick wedding cards for hubby to take to work with him!

All made again with a selection of left over paper pieces and assorted embellishments from my craft box.
Please don't forget that there is just time to take part in the Get Funky! challenge and to download Anice's free paper for this month as the new challenge starts on Saturday morning at 9 am.
There is also plenty of time to join in with Kathy's Fab Sketch challenge too, I hope to see you there.
Thanks for looking.

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File

Well peeps, as always Kathy came up with another of her fab sketches to which we all (the DT) came up with very different cards as usual. We also have the chance this month to welcome the newest member of our team, Lynda from Lynda Loves Crafting and the Daring Cardmaker's blogs. Her work is just gorgeous so make sure you stop by and take a look :)

Papers and embellishments used are by K & Co and the verse on the front of the card is a rub on but I can't remember who it's by.....it might be Mambi.

Thanks for looking :)

Kathy's Sketch File

There are just a few days left for you to join us on Kathy's Waffle Sketch File before the new sketch comes up for September. Kathy has published some brilliant sketches over the last couple of years and they are all still on the Sketch File blog for you to look at when Mr Mojo goes walkabout!
Take a look at the sketch and we would love it if you had a go with it.

Don't forget to let us know if you have a play then we can come and have a look at your work :)

Kathy's sketch

I've spent the last 24 hours making cards for hubby for weddings from Saturday until the end of August so the sketches, challenges etc always come in handy as do digi stamps. I've made 11 but have one more to make, then when we get back from our hols I can make a start on Septembers!! I've already made a card for Kathy's Waffle sketch but thought I would revisit and give it another go as I thought it lent itsself perfectly to C6 landscape cards.

All of the papers and card were from my left overs mountain (which, incidentally isn't going down!!), the flower stamp is a new one by Woodware, gems from stash and I've used a couple of punches and dies.
Thanks for inspiring me again Kathy :))

Wedding cards

I've made an assortment of quick wedding cards for hubby over the last couple of weeks but haven't had time to upload them. They have all been sat on my desk top and it's looking decidedly messy so I thought I would spend a bit of time and upload this weeks work too.
The first one is done 'loosely' from Mrs B's Sketch File

I just turned the sketch on it's side! The image is one of Sally-Ann's from Digistamp Boutique which I've coloured with Promarkers. Everything else is from my stash.
Another of Sally-Ann's images and assortments from my 'bits' box.

and a third image from Sally-Ann plus more from the 'bit' box.

Kathy's Sketch File

I like this sketch and will definitely use it again as I think it will definitely lend itself to different styles of work not just flat cards.

My card also fits with the Funky Hand challenge this week. Now in all honesty, I loved these papers, Minty Madness, as soon as I saw them and just had to have the download last year......then promptly forgot them and this is the first airing and the first time I've taken part in their challenge. The stamp is a new one too, bought for me by the wonderful Kath (she knows who she is, thank you xx) stamped with Taken With Teal ink by Stampin Up, happy birthday rubon, Prima Flowers and gems from stash.

I made this card last night for a customer
The customer requested the green and white as these are the colours for the nursery. The twins, a boy and a girl were born on Tuesday and the card was a success. :)

Soggy Sunday

What a blooming miserable day it is here at Scruff's Corner. We have had that really fine drizzle (wet rain that soaks you through lol) since yesterday lunch time and it's awful. Anyway, we are going over to my mum and dad's for lunch so it's not all bad :)
My first card fits two challenges as one is a sketch and the other is a colour challenge. The first one is the sketch which is from Kathy's Sketch File (that woman can be so cutting if she doesn't get what she wants lol) and the other is Colour Create. The colour combination this week is soft pink, soft blue, white and silver) and this is what I came up with
Flower paper - K & Co
pink and white striped paper - Craftwork Cards
sentiment - The Cutting Cafe
MS punch
everything else from stash

The second card I made yesterday was made using a Pink Elephant sketch but I don't know when it's from because I can't find it again on their blog!
papers - K & Co, Making Memories
Promarkers
ribbon - Ribbon Oasis
sentiment - Craftwork Cards
pearls from stash

Hip hip hooray

Stupid title for a post but what the heck :) I managed to catch up with Kathy's Sketch Files too yesterday so am still please that I've done every single one.....maybe not in the month it was published but I've done them :) So here you go Mrs B, the final one from last year.....

Materials: papers - magazine freebie, image - The Digi Stamp Boutique, coloured with Promarkers,
assorted punched flowers, sentiment done on the pc and everything else from stash.
I am also entering this card into the DCM challenge for this week (also set by Kathy) as I've used pointy flowers and the challenge this week is What's the Point?

I'd like to see cards featuring points or pointers of some kind - the hands of a clock, arrows, pointing fingers, view-points, pointy stars, pointy ears (hehe), pencil points.... maybe pins and needles could also be incorporated into your
 designs.

Materials: papers - Be Loved, My Mind's Eye, image - Delicious Doodles coloured with Promarkers,
velvet ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, MS punch and gems from stash

The winner of my papers (as she was the only entrant all week :)) is TRACIE Could you email me your details please (link is on my side bar) and I can get them in the post tomorrow.

Thanks
