Happy Birthday, Son

Good morning all, I hope you haven't been too confused by the clocks going back.....I forgot to set my watch so I was out of bed at 8.30, which doesn't sound too bad but it was actually 7.30! On a Sunday morning! The only time I'm up at that time on a Sunday is when I do a wedding fayre lol

My son's birthday cards as promised,

No new papers were harmed in the making of these cards, the papers are all from my "leftovers box".
Ingredients on the first card are the image is from Lil of the Valley and the sentiments are from Craftwork Cards

On the second card, the image is again a precoloured image from Lili of the Valley(see link above) and the spotty paper is by Craftwork cards. The buttons and twine are from my stash.

The sentiment and paper on the bottom card is a mag freebie by Pink Petticoat and the card candy is from Craftwork Cards

As I also said yesterday it is my turn to add my 'makes' to the Get Funky! challenge today. The challenge is set by Amanda and this is her brief

"Christmas is all about the kids
so that's what I am setting for this month's theme.
Anything Christmassy for a child.  It can be anything you want........a card, a gift, a layout, a decoration ~ whatever your imagination can come up with."
I made a gift bag from a brown envelope and card and I will be adding a tutorial to my blog for the gift bag (they are so simple to make).
Don't forget to check out Kathy's new Facebook page, a Card a Dayyou are all invited to join us.
Back soon and thanks for dropping by.

Last minute Lizzie...

again! This happened last night too. I got so wrapped up in making a couple of DT cards I didn't realise what time it was so we have yet another quickie blog post to beat the midnight curfew lol I've got a couple more Funky Hand DT cards to show from the new down loads which are about to be released.

These are both from the Presents Wrapped collection of scrumminous (is that a word? It is now :)) The new collections are all just fabulous, totally up to the minute, or should I say that they are bang on trend.  :)

Right, that's it now, time for bed. Please don't forget to take a look at the Get Funky! blog as the new challenge goes live in the morning.

Thanks for looking. x

Anything Goes

Good morning, I hope you are having a lovely weekend and that the weather is being kind to you!

It's my turn (Jackie) to show you my challenge card today for Lou's chosen challenge of "Anything Goes". Lou set the challenge off with a stunning wordbook on 15th August and as the challenge doesn't close until 14th September there are still a few days to play along with us. We do have one stipulation when entering our challenge and that is that you must use a Funky Hand product. If you don't have any of Anice's fabulous papers (you don't know what you're missing ;)) then every month she comes up with a freebie paper for you.

All the papers on my card are from the new download,  Daisy Day (see below) including the flowers. My only additions were the ribbon which I pleated across the bottom of the green panel and I added gems to the middle of the small punched flowers. Daisy Day is available from the Funky Hand web site at the miniscule price of £3.49!!!

Daisy Day downloadable backing papers.
I hope you can take the time to join in our challenge and who knows, you might be the lucky winner of a free Funky Hand download including the new one.

Thanks for looking :)

Manic Monday

Why is it that I have only been back from Cornwall for 4 days yet not only do I feel knackered, it doesn't feel as though we've been away? It doesn't help with the rotten weather although we did manage to get out into the garden for the afternoon yesterday. I tidied and repotted and moved things all over the place and it looks nice now :) I need another couple of days so I can get on top of the weeding again but it doesn't look as though it might happen this week!! Oh well at least the house stays tidy :)

I'm in wedding stationery and DT sample mode today so can only give you a sneak peek before I blog my cards on my Kanban Thursday.

As always, these elements are absolutely stunning and they are all printed onto 300 gsm card stock which means they can be used outright as a card base and not just used for matting and layering.

I'd like to remind you that I'm the host for this month's Get Funky! challenge where my remit is to use large numbers as the focal point on your card/project but no images allowed, although you can use text. I hope you can find the time to join in with us this month and please make sure you hope over to the blog every couple of days as my DT mates add their inspirational projects. Anice has made us a fabulous freebie backing paper in case you don't own any Funky Hand  goodies, it can be found here

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File challenge is still running too. These sketches really help me out of a hole sometimes when Mr Mojo has gone walkies. All of the sketches, from when Kathy first started this blog, are available on the sidebar. It's great to be able to have a browse at times when you may need a little help :)

Thanks for dropping by and I will see you tomorrow (hopefully)

Just a number

It's my turn to host the Get Funky! challenge this month and my challenge for you, as the title says, is that I would like you to use a large number on your project. I don't want to see images of any kind please but text is fine and here is my sample

Now it looks as though my word is wonky but it isn't as I used a ruler to make sure my letters were straight.

So what did I use?
Well....
the large number is from The Blue Christmas Word Book
Papers are from Wishes and Kisses cd and the freebie paper from January
Letters used from Now that's Funky - lower case alphabets, the ABC sheet from Wishes and Kisses and a new download yet to be released (I coloured all of the letters with Promarkers so that they were all shades of blue
The sentiment was done on the lap top and the ribbon and brads came from my stock.

Please don't forget that you MUST use a Funky Hand product on your work and there is a download of your choice for the winner.

Good luck and thanks for reading.

Funky Fall

It was my turn today to add my card to the Get Funky! challenge blog which I duly did at about midnight last night then promptly forgot to add it on here!

As always, Anice made one of her lovely downloads as an Autumn freebie paper which can be downloaded from here I chose to use the freebie on my card this month.
Here is my card
I made my own template for the apron. (When I make a template for anything I usually end up surrounded by printer paper as I tend to cut and alter quite a bit lol) Anyhow, I cut a separate pocket and 'stitched' it with a black Sakura glaze pen. I cut out and coloured the tools which had been printed from the Colour Me Happy cd and stuck them into the pockets with a bit of ds tape. i added ribbon ties anda type written sentiment and that was that :) I hope it's ok.

Thanks for reading

Good evening, late again lol I've been meaning to write this post for the last couple of hours but got my nose stuck into an online magazine which had some really interesting articles in it, hence the late hour!! Here are a few more quick wedding cards for hubby to take to work with him!

All made again with a selection of left over paper pieces and assorted embellishments from my craft box.
Please don't forget that there is just time to take part in the Get Funky! challenge and to download Anice's free paper for this month as the new challenge starts on Saturday morning at 9 am.
There is also plenty of time to join in with Kathy's Fab Sketch challenge too, I hope to see you there.
Thanks for looking.

Get Funky!

Have you got 'Funky!' yet? My team mates come up with some really great challenges and some equally wonderful work. The only rule we have is that you must use a Funky Hand product and if you are unfortunate not to own any Funky Hand stuff yet, fear not...every month Anice very kindly designs a free paper which can be found on the web site ......what are you waiting for?

This month it's Jenny's turn to set the challenge and she is highlighting the new "Happy Happy Birthday" CD. She would like to see any sort of project with a birthday theme and a spreviously mentioned, as long as you use at least one Funky Hand product on your project you'll be in with a chance of winning a free download of your choice at the end of this challenge.

Every couple of days one of the design team add a challenge project to the blog and they often write up tutorials too. Kathy has made a stunning card and has also written up a tutorial on how to resize the papers to make a similar card to hers.

Don't forget to leave us a comment so we can come over and comment on your work please.

Thanks for stopping by :)

100th birthday!!

This commission has come all the way from Somerset via my mum in law. It's from an old friend for her aunt who will be 100 in August. The lady in question worked in service from being 13 years old and eventually went to work at Cadbury's factory in Keynsham where she stayed for about 30 years. She actually retired about 40 years ago, that's almost all of my life. I hope she likes it!!

I have used an assortment of stickers, ribbons, flowers and charms from my stash and have also managed to reduce my paper mountain a little. I have also added an assortment of tags so that the family can sit with Nell and make notes about the photos etc.

There is still time for you to enter the challenge over on the Get Funky! challenge blog. As always, Anice has designed a freebie paper so everyone has a chance to take part.

There is also still time to take part in the challenge at Kathy's Waffle Sketch File and don't forget that we have a small prize to give away this month.

Good luck and thanks for looking.

Master Chef

Thanks to everyone who joined in with Debs' Spots and Stripes challenge over the last month, we love looking at all your work!

It's Kathy's turn to host the brand new Funky Fifteenth Challenge over at Get Funky! and she has chosen to challenge us with a recipe and the ingredients are

3 different papers
5 flowers
2 buttons
1 length of ribbon (you can cut this up if you like)
A sprinkling of pearls or gems to season.
At least one Funky Hand product must be included and as always, Anice has designed and uploaded a freebie for you to use if you don't have any of our products and this is what it looks like, a yummy Kraft paper!

Don't forget to stop by and show us what you've made,

Remember you MUST use at least one Funky Hand product to join in and qualify for our monthly prize.

We say this every month but we still get a few entries which don't abide by our little set of rules (all one of them :)) If you don't use anything from Funky Hand, your project will not be commented on, sorry.

Good luck and happy crafting.

Funky Hand

These were all made a few weeks ago and I didn't get round to posting them. They were all made for the Funky Hand Gallery to show off the new cd.

A lovely little treat bag (which is so simple to make and I may have got the original idea from the Splitcoast Stampers resource page) to showcase the new spotty papers. They are absolutely fab and there is a positive and negative image of each paper.

A cover for a mini book which has been commissioned for a lady in Somerset who will be, you guessed it.....100 years old (in August) I'm awaiting photos now so I can complete the book.

This is a memo board/shopping list for my mum's fridge! This time I used a paper from the Craft The Year Away cd as well as the spotty papers.

And finally a card using an enlarged copy of the ice cream from the work desk on the Craft The Year Away cd. There is so much which can be done with these cds (including Colour Me Happy and Dreams Come True)

And that's yer lot for this evening, my bed is shouting me very loudly!! :) Don't forget our super challenge over on the Get Funky! challenge blog, We would love to see what you come up with but you must use a Funky Hand paper in your creation. Why not pop over and see the fab projects my super talented team mates have come up with.

Night night

More work

Another assortment of commissions from the last couple of weeks using a selection of techniques....stamping, colouring and decoupage amongst them

The weather has been wonderful again today and I've really missed being at home and able to potter about inbetween working. Still at least I get plenty of work done :)

Debs has added her project to the Get Funky challenge blog why not pop over and have a look at her very 'zingy' card.
