Papertake Weekly

I took a break from wedding stationery yesterday and just made cards! I shouldn't have really as I have enough work in to last me for months but my card box is looking very bare, my shops need topping up and Father's Day will be upon us before we know it!

After five years in the wedding business I still find it difficult to balance stationery orders, card making and housework...the latter being the least important but still necessary LOL

Anyway, yesterday I made cards, I have a couple more to finish today, then I will put together 72 place cards while I help DH update the web site :) as well as posting all the challenge cards on here......I'm just glad females are made to multi task (heaven knows what would happen if I were a bloke :))

The image is one of Sally-Ann's lovely precoloured digital download images (it's actually a Valentine image LOL) from Grab-a-Doodle-Do All I did with it was add Glossy Accents to his eyes, nose and heart. I spend more time thanking Sally-Ann for making my life easier than anything. She is an absolute star and a lovely online bud :)........Thank you. Look out for some of Sally-Ann's images as stamps now on sale at DewDrop Craftz So back to my card........the paper is Under The Boardwalk by Daisy Bucket and the little silver brads are from my stash.

TFL I will be back soon with loads more cards from yesterday.

Two in one!

Challenges and card that is LOL I decided to combine challenges again as time is against me once more. I have weddings coming out of my ears at the mo, which is fab, but I also need to fill my card box as I've got about a dozen left to sell 8-) Every time I get in front of myself one of my shops pinches them lol

Anyway, I have a couple of cards to show. This one is for the DCM challenge, set by Jo, from last Friday which states "I would like this week to see cards with a chick, a bunny or both!Of course you may add anything else to your cards"
and The Secret Crafter's challenges which is STITCHING
As usual any project as long as there is stitching on your card faux or real - it's up to you!

I even used another of my own sketches :)) (which I will upload as soon as I have tidied it up)

The yellow striped paper is an off cut, the zig zag was punched using one of my new MS punches from New York, sparkly floral ribbon is from Michaels ($1 a roll!) and the flowers are a mix including Prima and Dunelm. The image is another beauty from Sally-Ann at Grab-a Doodle-Do which I coloured with Promarkers, the faux stitching was done with a Sakura metallic pen and the sentiment was printed.

New challenge

It's new challenge day on the DewDrop Craftz blog so a big thank you to everyone who took part and congratulations to Hazel on winning the last challenge! This week is Sarah's turn to set the challenge and here is what she has come up with

'Anything but a card'
So.. we'd like to see all your creations that aren't a card..
You do not have to use anything from DewDrop Craftz.. but would be great to see them if you do..The winner of this fortnights challenge will win a selection of 6 x 6 papers..Entries: leave a link to your creation on this post and keep an eye out the 12th April for the winner..

I decided to make a gift bag and tag for my entry this week as I received my yummy stamp from Nikki the other day and it was definitely male orientated!

I sometimes struggle when I have to make 'male' gift bags if the male in question doesn't have a hobby or is too you to drink alcohol ;) I decided that this stamp could be used for males both young and old (as in relics, fossils etc LOL) I coloured my images with Promarkers and papers used are Baby Bee by Crate Paper and Urban Window by We R Memory Keepers.

The dinosaur is called Eric and if he looks familiar to you then that's probably because you have seen him on the blog of the very talented Sally-Ann from Grab-a-Doodle-Do He can be seen and purchased, along with Lilly and Cherry Cupcake from the DewDropCraftz shop Keep calling back as there will be more of Sally-Ann's stamps available soon.

Take a look at the blog and see what the other members of the DT have come up with :)

Dawny's Sketch #11

Another of Dawny's fab sketches this week and one I shall definitely use again. When you have spare time take a look at Dawny's blog not only will her posts brighten your day but her work is fab too :)

Not sure what the paper is on this one but the image is another Sally-Ann download (just take a look at the blog candy she has on offer!) There are some new designs on there too so I would probably have to go shopping shortly :) The rub on used for the sentiment are Doodlebug and the brads are from my stash.

The plus part of the title is that the card also fits the challenge on the Secret Crafter blog which is....Favourite Colour:- As usual any creation but must be based on your favourite colour scheme Well it just so happens that my favourite colour is yellow (of which there are a few yellow cards on my blog!)

Colour Create

This week's colours (red and green) might steer you towards Christmas which is fine as you will be able to tick another card off your Christmas list and that always feels good. For this week's extra option we would like you to add wings, but please remember that this is not compulsory. You could use animals and insects that have wings, but many of our well-loved characters also have little wings tucked away

I just can't bring myself to make Christmas cards at the mo so my card can be used for any occasion. The frog is from a download from one of my favourite people, Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do The dragonfly is a brad, the red felt ric rac is from Ribbon Oasis and the assorted papers and card are all off cuts.

Sketch Saturday

#41set by Ria.........I'm a week behind on this one but will catch up later :)
Papers are by K & Co, image and sentiment are by Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do and the rest is from my stash.

Papertake Weekly

Another of Dawny's fab sketches this week on the PTW blog and I thought it might fit with Rosie-Dee's challenge If Spring is on it's way, then it must be getting near to Mothers' day, so with that in mind, I'd like you to show us something to celebrate a special lady in your life. This doesn't have to be a mum as I know there are far too many out there that miss that most special lady in their lives (My DH included). As long as the card is for a lady - friend, daughter, sister, then your creation will qualify.

The cards I'm making at the moment are to send to Kirsty Wiseman for the troops so I'm sure one of them will find a special lady (or fella) to send this one to.
Paper is K & Co, the main image is from Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do This image is actually printed backwards LOL I forgot to change the settings on my printer as I had been printing in mirror image!! However, the only image I can't use is the text one as it reads 'Love You' backwards!!! The sentiment this time is part of a download from Pink Petticoat.....I thought it went quite well with the little owl :)

Colour Create

We would like you to make your card or project this week using the colours red, white and blue. There is an extra option available which you can use if you wish, although this isn't compulsory. This week's option is 'Holidays and Travel'

I don't think I can claim the extra option this week although people DO play football on holiday and you DO have to travel to get the ball! No? Ok then we'll just go for the colours LOL The image is one of Sally-Ann's downloadable images from Grab-A-Doodle-Do coloured with Prismas and Sansador, the football is Quickutz and the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

My darling hubby has just booked me a late birthday pressie.........he is taking DD2 and myself to New York for the weekend on 20th March, it's actually 10 days after my birthday but who cares! :) We are already booked to see Simply Red in concert at the end of March (he's taking myself and a friend) so I shall be thoroughly spoilt this year.

DD has been whinging for a couple of weeks about going on holiday and how she can't wait till August when we go to Cornwall (typical teenager!) Anyhow, he has said for year that he would like to take me as he went in a previous life ;), he asked me last night, I sat here until 2 am trying to make my mind up.......then he came home tonight and booked it. Looks like I'm going now LOL

Right, it's almost bed time so that's me done for another day.

Take care, speak soon.

Mother's Day

I thought I would make a start on my Mother's Day cards for this year (I usually have them all ready to go by now but haven't so far and only have one left from last year!) but need to make a few more Valentine cards. However, I did use the Friday Sketchers #36 sketch for this one.The papers used are from the Baby and Sparkly Sweet 12 x 12 pads by K & Co, the image is one of Sally-Ann's pre-coloured downloads from Grab-a-Doodle-Doo (I added Diamond Glaze to the petals and gems to the flower centres), and everything else is from my stash.

Back shortly with more challenges.

Papertake Weekly #3

I've got no idea why I didn't do the Challenge #3 over on the Papertake blog as that is one of the challenges I usually make sure I do! Anyway, this is the sketch from DawnyP
And here is my card
DP is the other half of the piece from the Figgy Pudding 6x6 pad from earlier, the image is another one of Sally-Ann's and everything else is from my stash.

Sketch Saturday

Another great sketch and DT cards from the team at Sketch Saturday I'm pleased all these challenge blogs are here as they have been a big help in me sorting my Christmas orders. I haven't even made any of our personal ones yet so I really must get a shift on!
I just love this download from Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do I can't draw to save my life so having all these talented people doing the art work for me is great :) and they are very reasonably priced. Paper is Figgy Pudding by Basic Grey, image is a pre-coloured download (as mentioned) I've coloured his breast and hat with Sakura glitter pens and added Stickles to his hat brim, everything else is from my stash and the sentiment on the card is hand written. I don't usually write on my cards but I used a duff Papermania rub on, which didn't!! and just left a mark on the card so rather than chuck it and start again I went over it with a fine pen.
