Friday Sketchers

times two!!! I have finally got round to posting last week's sketch card too. lol

The image is another we had been sent us to work with by DZ Doodles, coloured with Promarkers. Papers are from Craftwork Cards, My Mind's Eye and Animal Antics by First Edition Papers. All the gems etc are from my stash. I've left the sentiment off this card as I think it can be used for numerous occasions and I can add a greeting at the POS.

Another card with no sentiment using assorted papers from my oddments box, Prima flowers and gems, pretty simple really :)

Friday Sketchers!

Late again for the challenge from last week so I did the new challenge posted today and chose to upload both week's cards at the same time :)

Image from Creative Cottage, free papers from Making Cards mag, Card Candy from Craftwork cards, ribbon from stash.
Another fabby image from Karen's Doodles coloured with Promarkers, the dp is an old Doodlebug paper I think, other papers are oddments from the 'scrap mountain' and small buttons from stash.

Thanks for looking.

Friday Sketchers

Challenge #87 This card should have been blogged for Saturday but it was after midnight before I realised I hadn't done it.....then I went to bed! Not doing very well at my attempt at blogging every day, am I? lol DH needed another card to take to work last night and this is what I came up with.

Materials: papers - Stampin Up and My Mind's Eye, image - Pink Petticoat, flourish - QK Revolution,
flower I think is Papermania, card candy - Craftwork Cards

Thanks for looking.

Dolly Mama

I made a couple of Valentine and a birthday card yesterday and managed to tie in some more challenges. It doesn't sound much does it? I did also knit the front of a baby cardi, made a quiche for tea and some butterfly buns and cleaned my kitchen (sorry for swearing)!!!
Anyway let's talk about something a bit more interesting :) Using the sketch from the Friday Sketchers I made a card without a proper sentiment so it could be used for many occasions.

Materials: papers - K & Co and Bazzill Bling, image - Dolly Mama coloured with Promarkers, flowers - Prima,
gems - Papermaia, sentiment - Craftwork Cards, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, MS punch

I really like this stamp but haven't used her for a long time. So my card also fits the following challenges
"So our challenge this week is a colour challenge and it is Pretty Pink Papertake. So pretty straightforward really, you can use other colours as well if you want, and as long as your card is predominantly pink, then that's fine :)"
"Our challenge this week is ‘girls, girls, girls’ but you can use any colour promarkers you like *yay*. We want to see all your girlie images used this week."
"We'd like you to make us giggle! Just create a project with something funny....a funny image, sentiment, whatever....we're just looking for a fun little chuckle!"

It's a fair while since I made a card which incorporates more than one challenge and I'm quite chuffed with my little self!

My mummy will

.....wring my neck when she opens this card on Monday LOL. It's my parents 52nd wedding anniversary on Monday and I decided to use my Eunice stamp again (if you visit regularly you will know about Eunice :)) but don't have have any of the 'male' stamps to go with her. Whilst I was looking for something else I found my little golfer so decided to try him..........I would love to know what you think!!
I used sketch #72 from Friday Sketchers and the latest challenge from Passion For Promarkers
which is
"This week you can use any colours (so great for those of you who are building up your collections) but there is a recipe to follow - 3 different shapes (not including your card base), 2 papers and 1 ribbon" as chosen by Denise.

Materials: papers - Bloom & Grow, My Mind's Eye and Glitter vellum from Papermania, images - Eunice is from Art Impressions but I don't know who the golfer is by, flower - Prima, card candy and scalloped rectangle - Craftwork Cards,
ribbon -
Ribbon Oasis, Promarkers, everything else from stash

I looped the ribbon across the middle of the card and cut out and mounted the images on 3d foam pads.

When will I ever ......

....learn to read properly!!?!!

I visited the Secret Crafter's blog this morning to see what the new challenge was and saw the message from Wendy about the DT place prize from last week. I didn't notice when I did last week's challenge that you had to add DT to the Mr Linky/comment to be in with a chance, consequently, I didn't do it :( )h well, that will teach me!

Anyway, I've made a card for the challenge which is by Debby and she wants us to use Autumnal colours I also used the sketch #73 from Friday Sketchers

Materials: images - Pink Petticoat, ribbons - Ribbon Oasis, flowers - Prima,
flower centre - dew drop from my huge tub of them :))

DH has a wedding and a renewal of vows this evening so the cards are both for him.

Passion For ProMarkers

I seem to be late with a few challenges again which isn't unusual for as I spend half my life chasing my tail :)) This card is a prime example of that.......I've combined two sketches, Passion For ProMarkers and Friday Sketchers so as you will guess, I'm still in time for the ProMarker challenge but a day late with the sketch LOL

Materials: assorted papers from 'oddments' box, Penny Black image, ProMarkers, flower-Papermania, sentiment - The Cutting Cafe, ribbon - Ribbon Oasis, brad - Doodlebug

Card selection

Finally yesterday I made a card for one of my couples who get married whilst we are on our hols and used a Friday Sketchers sketch from a couple of weeks ago.

Image - Elzybells Papers - Pink Petticoat and magazine freebie
Flowers - Prima

Ribbon - Ribbon Oasis

Brad - Doodlebug

I made a load of cards over the weekend for DH to give to his wedding/party hosts as he had four over the weekend, another four while we're away and three the weekend we get back. I actually think he might have a couple of spares too!

They are all very simple as I don't get anything for making them and I buy the card etc so I usually use the fab Pink Petticoat downloads, bits of paper and card from my box of left overs and any glitter, ribbon etc which is laid about on my desk. It took me an hour and a half to make 17 cards, not bad eh?!

Thanks for dropping by. I have another box to do this morning then some birthday cards which need to be posted before I go away so will probably be back later with some more challenge cards.

Passion For ProMarkers

Week #9 already!!! I can't believe that we've had nine challenges already..........time seems to be whizzing past so quickly and I think I may just run out of year!! :)

The colour combination for this week was chosen by Ida and it is......Rose Pink & Lime Green. I used the
Friday Sketchers sketch this week and am rather pleased with the card!
As well as being Cec's funeral today, it's my mum's birthday, definitely a day to remember! We were home from the funeral at about 3ish and at 4.30 we all went for an all you can eat Chinese buffet. There were 10 of us all together so she enjoyed the last part of her day.

Anyway, back to the card. The image is called Eunice, which just happens to be my mum's name :) I found the image a long time ago then last year I managed to track the stamp down to The Glitter Pot as I wanted to use it on her 70th birthday invitations. Technically she is Eunice, Santa's Helper, but I did her for the birthday invitations and mini album last year, she also got her on a Christmas card and now she's on today's birthday card. Each time she has had an appearance on my blog she has had different clothers on lol The edging was done with my newest MS card and everyting else is from my stash!

Happy birthday mum, and Cec, where ever you are..................behave yourself :)

What a change....

.....in the weather, it is absolutely tipping it down and is so dark I've had to put the light on! I know it is definitely welcome and the gardens need it but after moving my craft room and working outside all week, I have to stay in. I even ended up in the paddling pool yesterday (it's one of the big ones not a little blow up one :))

Anyway, just to prove I have been working and that I managed a couple of challenge, here are the pics. The first card is for three challenges...Passion For ProMarkers, Stamp Something and Friday Sketchers

The colours for this weeks ProMarkers challenge are Moss and Poppy and the theme for Stamp Something was "We'd like to see at least 3 embellishments. Whether it's 3 of the same embellishments, 3 different ones, or a whole lot more than 3 is up to you!!! Just add your favorite ribbons, brads, flowers, chipboard...you get the idea. :)"

Image - Sarah Kay
Embellishments used - Prima flowers, brads, ribbon
Spotty paper - Pink Petticoat
Red vellum - magazine freebie :)

Under The Boardwalk

This week's sketch is by Jacqueline on the Friday Sketchers Blog

This time, as the paper is already printed with flourishes, I decided not to stamp over them and let the paper 'do the talking'. paper is another Under The Boardwalk, image is Hamish by Sugar Nellie from Funky Kits and the ribbon and brads are from my stash. The greeting was done on the computer.

Friday Sketchers

#43 and I am almost caught up!!
The pink backing paper has white flower outlines on it which haven't been picked up by the scanner, it's the reverse side of a green striped paper from Auntie Gertie's Garden and is really pretty! The small piece of checked paper is from Papermania Scrumptious pad. The image is again from Pink Petticoat and is coloured with Promarkers and the flowers are Primas. The sentiment is a rubon onto a chip board tag covered with the same AGG paper.

Woo Hoo!!

..........challenges completed on the same day as they were published :) starting with Friday Sketchers
The green paper on the left is the reverse of the pink paper. All I know is that it was in an old SA kit but not sure what it is. Not very good on this card as I don't know where the daffs are from either or whether it's a download or a stamped image. It has been on my desk since finding it in a drawer a couple of weeks ago! I do know that the page frill is by Doodlebug though :)

Friday Sketchers

Week #38 - Sketch by Claudia
Sorry about the lousy photo, I've taken it this morning in a lousy light but lightened the picture in Photoshop.............me thinks I went a bit too far! LOL Something else for my 'to learn' list ;))
I've had the stamp for about 4 years but haven't used it very much because a) it's rather large and b) I can never colour it properly. I tried it this time with my Prisma pencils and Sansador and it looks better that before, still not brilliant though. I also chopped it down with the label Nesties. Papers are Hot Off The Press and Basic Grey (I think it's from the Boxer pad), the flower was a freebie from somewhere and the sentiment was done on the lap top.

Mother's Day

I thought I would make a start on my Mother's Day cards for this year (I usually have them all ready to go by now but haven't so far and only have one left from last year!) but need to make a few more Valentine cards. However, I did use the Friday Sketchers #36 sketch for this one.The papers used are from the Baby and Sparkly Sweet 12 x 12 pads by K & Co, the image is one of Sally-Ann's pre-coloured downloads from Grab-a-Doodle-Doo (I added Diamond Glaze to the petals and gems to the flower centres), and everything else is from my stash.

Back shortly with more challenges.

Friday Sketchers

I actually did this challenge yesterday but was very late finishing work (12.45 am!) then my lap top decided it was going to play silly wotsits so I went to bed instead of uploading my cards :)
The template from Friday Sketchers is great, in fact it's so great I made two cards from it. Thank you Murmur :)
Images are from Lilli of the Valley, the papers are from the Blue Christmas 6 x 6 pad by Papermania and the other bits are from my very messy stash ;))

Friday Sketchers

#26.............better late than never!!! :) I've been meaning to do this all week and somehow never got round to it............not to worry though, it's done :) I had three cards to make for DH to take to work this weekend. He has a wedding tonight and a wedding and a 16th birthday tomorrow night. Here is the 16 th.
Paper is Pink Petticoat, flower is by Cuttlebug (the gems in the middle are actually hot pink!), and the 16 was cut with the Curlie Wurlie alphabet. I cut it in pale pink then glittered it ;) I seem to be using glitter quite a bit lately!

Santa Claus is coming to town

...........but not yet!! Managed a few more Christmas cards today as well as a seating plan :) I spent far to long on t'internet this morning but my excuse was that I was searching out challenge and sketch sites. It obviously worked because I managed another six cards :)
The first one was for Friday Sketchers ok I'm slightly late but it's the taking part that counts!

Paper is from Anita's Classic Christmas Blue 6x6 pad, background square was swiped with a pale blue ink pad and Cuttlebugged, the snowman was part of the same RAK as before, ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the sentiment is from a Sizzlit die.
