By the skin of my teeth!

I'm really pleased with how much I've achieved today. In fact I've been so busy I even forgot to blog my cards. It's going to be a really quick post this evening so I can get in whilst it's still Monday (and I only have six minutes of it left lol).

So what did I make?   Ta daa

All of the images are from The Digi Stamp Boutique.

Back tomorrow. (Three minutes to spare :))

Funky Friday

Crikey what a day...I worked really had today and got to where I wanted to be so I could break off to watch a bit of telly this evening, I came in here at about 9.15 pm to upload this post as I kept forgetting during the day but then got distracted by something else then Alan Carr came on. I might just get this done in the remainder of Friday (unlike last week when it went just past midnight so I missed Friday all together)

I hope all our 'friends' in Scotland are ok in that horrible weather. xx

My card this week is using the Kathy's Waffle Sketchfile sketch and one of the fantastic new downloads which will make up the Oh Come All Ye Crafters series from Funky Hand and they are just fab. I will be uploading more over the weekend but you will have to watch this space for the release date. We have been given six more than are on the web site at the mo so that we can have a play and believe me, you won't be disappointed :)

The papers for this card is from "Make A List, " The image is separate but they are still Funky Hand images which are new for this year. Everything apart from the pearls on this card are from Funky Hand, even the piece of ribbon which is the last of the ribbon we were sent about 18 months ago, I kept losing it, but at least now it has been used!
I actually love the way the box has turned out. They were made using a set of templates I bought a couple of weeks ago by a very talented crafter (and Kanban teamie) named Emma Goddard from Emma's Cards Uk and the papers from above.

Right, that's it for now. I will be back over the weekend with more from the new downloads.

Take care and thanks for dropping by :) x

Kanban Thursday

I hope you have managed to stay warm and dry wherever you are with all of the appalling weather we have had this week.

Just a very quick post today as I have to go and have blood taken at 8.30 then it's back home to start emptying our bedroom ready for the new carpet arriving today. I have windows to clean and curtains to iron and furniture to move in DS's room as we have decorated his room too this week. I think we must be a bit mad decorating two rooms but both are finished now....roll on tomorrow night when I can fall into our lovely new bed :)

Anyway, I digress...you didn't come to read about my decorating lol I have my usual two Kanban DT projects to show today but for the first time in ages I don't have just cards to show as you are about to see.

Twelve Crafters Crafting....

,,and a partridge in a pear tree :)
It's my first time setting the challenge over on the Get Funky! challenge blog and my remit for this month is

1, A Christmas project using "Traditional colours" meaning red, green, gold, silver etc not the lilacs or blues etc which are around at the mo

2, A non Christmas card or project using Christmas papers please.

The Design Team have all used the fab new addition to the Papercraft Series of cds, Twelve Crafters Crafting. If you don't already own it, ask Santa for it in preparation for next year's Christmas projects, you won't be disappointed!

I made a gift card wallet using Christmas Cheer

and a birthday card using Xmas presents

Please make sure that you stick to our very simple rules and as always, the lovely Anice has designed a freebie paper for those of you who haven't already got any Funky Hand goodies and that can be found here FREEBIE

Don't forget to pop back regularly to see what my very talented teamies have been up to.

Thank you all and good luck.

Weekly round up

and a start with some challenges! I've had to make loads of stuff this week and have been really, really busy and coincidentally I have been able to match some of my 'makes' to some of the challenges in Blogland :) So here we go

Papertake Weekly
The blank card and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards, bling and ribbon are from my craft box and I'm not sure where the trees are from but I think they were from a craft fayre somewhere. The photo hasn't picked it up properly but they are cut from black glitter card and they are gorgeous irl.
Thanks for looking.

Christmas cards

.......All Year Round. Although my card isn't a Christmas card I decided to use the Quick Fire Challenge #2 sketch for a commissioned leaving card.
I don't know what the papers are as I had alread cut the bottom strip off but I think they came in an old SA Kit, the image is a stamp designed by the lovely Sally-Ann which I coloured with Prismas and Sansador and a blending pen, the suitcase is Quickutz.

Better late than never!

I finally managed to do the Di Hickman's Card Sketch October #3 and was really pleased with this card. I think I might be making quite a few cards in this style :)

The paper is again from the Anita's Red Christmas 6x6 pad, snowman and cracker were in my Christmas RAK, the large snowflake is Quickutz and the small trees and snowflakes are Cuttlebug.

Thanks for looking.

So here it is...............

...........Merry Christmas ev'ry body's having fun! (I'll spare you all the rest of the song, my singing is dire LOL)

Today's DCM challenge is to make a Christmas card!! Jo here this week with a seasonal dare - just not this season :) I would love this week for you all to make a Christmas card... (yes I know it is only June tee hee) With a nice Christmassy scene just to get us all in the festive spirit and to pave the way for all the cards that we have yet to make....

So here is my very simple Christmas card. It was made by simply embossing a piece of gold card with one of my new Cuttlebug embossing folders, this was then mounted onto dark green card and then onto a cream base card. I punched a hole at either side of the base of the tree and tied it with red organza ribbon.....simple!

Yesterday DH and I were invited to the Christmas party launch at one of the local hotels. We had a beautiful three course meal (which knocked me out for the rest of the day as I don't usually eat lunch) complete with Christmas crackers and silly hats!! Anyway, the Operations Manager asked about the possibility of me making her Christmas cards to send to her clients. I was telling her about this folder and decided to make her a sample. I couldn't believe it when I saw the Dare over at DCM...........thanks Jo!!

The same hotel are holding a masked ball this evening booked by the Chamber of Commerce and have a fab marquee up for the occasion. I was asked if I could make them some signs for the champagne bar, toilets etc incorporating the masks!! I've never done anything like this before so it was a bit of a struggle and I didn't get to bed until 2.45 on Thursday morning but this is what I came up with.

I'm not overly happy with them but they went down well with both the hotel and the Chamber which I suppose is what counts. My Craft Robo certainly came into it's own on Wednesday as I used it to cut all the lettering.

Well folks, that's it for tonight, I'm off for an early night. DH is working and I am shattered. I have plenty more to show but will leave it until tomorrow. I'm not doing any work or h*******k this weekend, I am going to play :)

Take care and tfl.

DCM Friday

This week its Rhi here to Dare you... and the theme is to do with our feathered friends!(Are you remembering to feed them now it's chilly out)Robins, love birds, cartoon birds, stamped birds, paper pieced birds, dingbat birds. Its up to you. I dare you to make a card with a bird or birds on, it doesn't have to be a real species, the more weird and wonderful the better!

Here is my quick card for the dare yesterday.
Papers are K & Co and DCWV Christmas pads from last year (I have finally made a dent in the DCWV one :)) Penguin stamp is from Tanda Stamps and ribbon and buttons are from stash.
I received some of the lovely Nestabilities this morning, just the rectangle set to try them out. I ordered them yesterday from Joanna Sheen and they arrived at about 8 o'clock this morning! Their service is remarkable. I know of a few businesses that could learn a lot from JS!!
Back to work now. I have completely finished my first exploding box and am on to the second one. I haven't photographed the first one yet but will post pics as soon as I do.

Hang up your stockings!!

This week's Little Extra theme is:
"Hang Up Your Stockings"Obviously we mean the stockings we put out in the hope that Father Christmas will pay us a visit and fill them with little treats (not your fishnets and suspenders!).Maybe you're in a part of the world that has a different custom, for instance in some countries the children put their shoes on the windowsill rather than hang up stockings. Whatever you do, we'd love to hear about your traditions as well as seeing your cards, so please tell us a little about how you celebrate Christmas in your country and in your home.

Here is my card

The papers are Season of Joy by Scrapworks and they are lovely! The papers, white and burgundy card and the spotty ribbon were all part of my latest kit from Scrummy Stash Cafe brads and frame were from stash and the stocking is cut in Vivelle using a Sizzlit die.

I have also made two more wedding invitations this morning (for one of my brides who forgot to invite someone to the wedding) and a little prezzie!

I am making headway with the jewellery so I shall get back to it.

Thanks for looking in again. xx

Baubles

I totally forgot that I hadn't posted this card, for the DCM Little Extra, on my blog. This is what they were looking for this week.

This week we'd love to see you making cards on the theme of Baubles, Bells & Bows See how much of a dent you can make in the "I need to make X number of Christmas cards" list with this one. Please come back and leave us a message when you've made your card(s) and we'll pop over to see what you've created.

Baubles were embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Textile' embossing folder and cut with a scalloped circle punch. The cap on the top was cut by hand and I added some gold wire for the hanger. The baubles are actually gold mirri card! Backing paper is from an old K & Co Christmas pad, sentiment is a Studio G stamp again and the ribbon was from my stash.

I am making jewellery at the moment as I have a party next Wednesday evening. I shall photograph it all together when I have finished. Will break off tomorrow morning though for the DCM challenge.

Night night xx

Time flies!!!

I just can't believe that this week has passed so quickly! I must be getting really old as they say that time passes quicker as you get older. LOL

Down to the promised piccies of mum and dad's 'do'. They had a fabulous time and everything went swimmingly well. Dad got quite emotional when he saw us all coming down the aisle and again at the end of the service when the piper walked in playing (he thought the music "Flower of Scotland" was on cd!!) It was definitely worth all the long hours and sleepless nights to see the sheer enjoyment on their faces.
Sis, Mum, Brother and me! Michael Gordon (the piper), Mum and Dad Me, Michael, Mum, Dad, Sis and Brother

So now onto work! I have been working on another wedding order this week as well as finishing two and sending them out. I also had five cards ordered yesterday and I managed to ................(I hope you're sitting down at this point LOL) complete a challenge over on the Just Bex forum! The challenge was another one of Sue's templates (I just love these, they make my life so much easier)

Here are my efforts (I actually made more than one of these), the first being a Christmas card

Papers are by K & Ko and Blonde Moments and the stamp is by Rubber Stampede and is one of the first stamps I ever bought. The image is simply coloured with water colour pencils.

The next one is a thank you card to the vicar who performed last Saturday's service, from Mum and Dad. Papers are again by K & Co. Tag is from Crafts by Carolyn and the star brad was from my tub.

And the inside

I'm quite pleased with this, it's my first ever pop up card.
Yesterday I was asked for two congrats cards for the same girl who had passed her driving test and here are what I came up with
The next cards were another order which came in yesterday and one of them fits (sort of) Sue's template again.
Papers again by K & Co, can you tell I still love these pads?! Flowers are a mix of Papermania and Prima and the lovely pearl brad is by Papermania. I do like these brads at the mo. The second anniversary card is for the same person.

And that is it for now. Hopefully this week I might just manage a couple more challenges but don't hold your breath! Tomorrow I hope to finish the current order. All the seperate elements are done, I'm just in the process of putting them all together.
I'm also going to add a couple of new blog links to my side panel. These are blogs of ver talented people whose blogs I try to visit regularly.
I almost forgot, I was tagged the other day by Louly. I think this is the same one I did ages ago. Please be patient with me, I can't be bothered to go back and look what I put last time ;) If you haven't done it and would like to be tagged, then please feel free.

Here are the rules :1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs. So, here are my seven facts

2. I always wanted to visit the Falkland Islands!

3. I would like to go up in a helicopter.

4. I always wanted to go down in a submarine (not sure why!)
