New challenge

The new challenge was revealed last night on the DewDrop Craftz blog and this time it was my team mate Domi's turn to set it and this is her brief..... A bookmark.. something simple or something exquisite, either way something you could use to save your page in a favourite book or magazine.
I used the School Girl stamp for my bookmark (and coloured her with ProMarkers) and it can be purchased from here My words were stamped using a Studio G alpha set which I won when the (now defunct) Page Plans blog first started. The 's' is missing but I never had the guts to email and tell them, so I'm ok as long as I make sure that my words don't contain the letter s! LOL

We would love it if you could take the time to join us for our little challenge which runs for two weeks, so there is plenty of time. There is also a small prize on offer too.

Getting there

Rain, rain go away.........we have had a couple of really awful downpours this evening and it is running torrents down the road. It's almost reminiscent of the start of the floods two years ago :(

I think I'm getting there regarding the challenges but every time I say that I end up behind again! LOL I've managed to get a few cards done in between assorted commissions but not many. I did the Inspirational challenge last week and made a card (unsuccessfully) for the DT call!

I made this card for a lovely friend who celebrated her 60th last Monday. Numbers were hand cut using wooden templates (and scissors!), papers are all Papermania and the ribbon, lace and charm were all from my stash.

This card was made for DH to take to work last week. Papers are from Patti Picklicious (I am certainly getting my monies worth from that cd :)) The stamp is a Studio G cheapy set and the flourishes are from my new Swirls die by QK.

Another double

This time I've combined the Papertake Weekly challenge which is a recipe as follows

1 circle
2 ribbons
3 stamps or stamped images

with the sketch for Mojo Monday

........but I flipped it on it's side! Ok, so the three stamps are the large butterfly image (which is an unmounted stamp I bought years ago from ebay) coloured with Promarkers, the flower in the centre of the Happy Birthday (which is from the Papermania Marie Curie stamp set) and at the bottom right hand corner there is a flourish which I embossed with clear powder so it isn't showing very well (this one is from a Studio G stamp set). My two ribbons and one circle are self explanatory ;) Paper is Bloomers by Doodlebug.

And that's my lot for tonight.

Baubles

I totally forgot that I hadn't posted this card, for the DCM Little Extra, on my blog. This is what they were looking for this week.

This week we'd love to see you making cards on the theme of Baubles, Bells & Bows See how much of a dent you can make in the "I need to make X number of Christmas cards" list with this one. Please come back and leave us a message when you've made your card(s) and we'll pop over to see what you've created.

Baubles were embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Textile' embossing folder and cut with a scalloped circle punch. The cap on the top was cut by hand and I added some gold wire for the hanger. The baubles are actually gold mirri card! Backing paper is from an old K & Co Christmas pad, sentiment is a Studio G stamp again and the ribbon was from my stash.

I am making jewellery at the moment as I have a party next Wednesday evening. I shall photograph it all together when I have finished. Will break off tomorrow morning though for the DCM challenge.

Night night xx
