All done!

Finished, packed and collected by my very beautiful (and very happy) bride this morning for her wedding tomorrow......and then they are off to Mexico for a week. How I wish I was going with them - well maybe not on the honeymoon but I could certainly hack some warm sunshine at the mo, I hate winter!!!

Although the colours on here look like a dark grey, they were actually sage/olive green and ivory and looked really lovely together. The orders of service were just paper versions without a card cover. I did 190 favours, 190 place cards, 100 orders of service and the seating plan. I was still making changes at 8 o'clock last night as people were backing out of the wedding and were being replaced with others!

DH and I are going to York for the day tomorrow and then on Tuesday I still need to make some semblance of order in my little studio/craft room and make a start on our personal Christmas cards. Each year I say that I am going to start in January and make them throughout the year but I never do. I have real difficulty getting my head round doing Christmas before I have been on holiday in August lol.

Right on to do some more posting while I'm watching Beyonce.....by God that girl can sing!

Wedding reception stationery

Yesterday saw the wedding of a lovely couple who I first met about two years ago. I made their invitations early last year and was privileged to have been asked to make all of the reception stationery and flowers too. I was also lucky enough to have been invited to the wedding and although I couldn't go to the reception or the evening do because hubby was working, I did go to church to see them married and it really made everything very special indeed. We have become friends and I will keep in touch with them....congratulations Jo & Phil :)

I actually made the card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge, sponsored by Teri's Delicious Doodles, which meant layering up the image on your card. The only problem is that I forgot to photograph the card laying down to show the three layers of my bride and groom! I wonder if they will still have me :)

The whole lot

Flowers for the bridal party
and the happy couple
Please excuse the photographer, I couldn't get the angle right without him in the picture lol
I eill add photos of the reception later as hubby took a couple on his phone and he has it with him.

Wedding menus, place cards etc

One of my lovely brides and grooms got married on Sunday and I did all the reception stationery last week for them. Time was so tight with it I worked all night on Thursday and it was one of those jobs where everything goes wrong. You know what I mean? I ordered the wrong card by mistake then the card I wanted was out of stock. I showed the alternative card to my groom and he liked so I went to order more and the supplier had run out of that one too. It should have been delivered last Wednesday morning but was delayed till Friday which meant they could get it to me on Monday!! Anyway, it all turned out alright in the end.....the supplier received a delivery of just enough card for my order and hubby drove down to pick it up......phew!

Orders of service

Place cards
 Table names

 Tri fold menus

 Seating plan
The seating plan has a spray of Swarovski crystal coming from the top of the bottle but the camera hasn't picked them up.
Post box
They certainly picked a fabulous day to get married, the weather was absolutely fabulous. I'm really looking forward to seeing the photos.

Thanks for looking.

Busy little bee

and it's been a really good day for staying all warm and cosy in my craft room, why.......:)

My daft youngest showing off her sexy wellies lol. I was so surprised when it started snowing again this afternoon. It's stopped now so hopefull it will soon disappear.
So today I have made:

a commissioned birthday card

The small book sits in the pocket on the front of the card and contains a couple of colouring plane pictures and a set of instructions as to how to make a paper aeroplane!
The numbers are hand cut from DCWV papers
planes are peel offs on acetate
sentiment is a Papermania rub on
image is from a free colouring site
ribbon from stash

wedding invitations
a couple of samples
and a couple of DT cards. I've also just got to finish a couple of extra invitations for an order and tomorrow I'm playing with beads :).

Sleep tight!

Wedding invitations

The final part of this order was collected on Thursday and the bride was very pleased with them. Even now I get a little nervous when I'm delivering or having stationery or cards etc, collected. Thankfully I have never had anyone turn round and say they didn't like was they had ordered.......I think I would just cry if they did :) I must say that one of the attractions of working in the wedding field is the lovely people I get to meet and spend time with and to know that couples like your work enough to represent their wedding is one of the greatest feelings in the world :)

I made the day and evening invitations in February and this part of the stationery set, for the wedding next Saturday, included the orders of service, large and small menus, place cards, thank you cards and the seating plan. This was the first time I had used my Nesties on a seating plan and was really pleased with the outcome, as was the bride.

Almost the weekend!

Does anyone know where time is going? The weeks just seem to disappear along with my time management!!

Yesterday disappeared in a blur and I got slightly distracted from the order of services. Well, I say distracted...............I didn't actually make any *blushing icon* But this is what I did make

On the stand
In the box. The lid has an acetate panel so the card can be seen. I don't make many Bookatrix cards now, just special orders. I got put off slightly when I had to make 16 with boxes for a shop!!!

The phone charm is for one of my best customers. It is made with black and clear glass beads.

I still feel ropey as I can seem to shift this head cold/sinus problem. Not good when you spend all day with your head down.

Right, I really must do the order of service today. I have the seating plan to do as well and I am delivering them on Saturday. Next week I am doing the favours and then that is mum and dads stationery finished. I have a leaving card to do today too so if I revisit, I need a size 10 up the bum!!

With this ring....

....I thee wed!
Just had a look at the DCM midweed Little Extra and realised it fits the order I'm working on at the moment. They are the Order of Service for my parents' Golden Wedding/Renewal of Vows ceremony.
Here is what the team came up with this week
This time we are giving you just One Word as the inspiration for your card making and that word is GOLDEN You can use the word in any way you like - the word itself doesn't even have to be on the card, for instance you could make a card in golden shades, or maybe inspired by the seasons of Spring or Autumn which both feature lots of golden colours. Or maybe you could make a card to celebrate a Golden Anniversary, and of course Gold is a great colour for Christmas cards.....It's up to you - just go for Gold

The dragonfly is hand crafted using seed and bugle beads and acetate and mounted onto gold organza ribbon.

Right, back to work for me. I have another 52 of these to make today then get the seating plan made!

I'm sorry.....

.... that I haven't been around for a couple of days but I have been working my little (oh ok then, big) butt off. I have several wedding orders in as well as my parents' golden wedding anniversary and individual card orders. I even turned an order down the other night because I just knew I wouldn't be able to fulfil it in the alloted time period! I haven't had time to take part in any challenges for a few days, but I have found a card I made for a challenge on the Just Bex forum and forgot to post!

This was Nicky's instruction
Your challenge is to make a card featuring a slide mount - any colour, any size, decorated in any way you wish. (If you don't have any ready-made slide mounts, you could always cut your own from card or chipboard.)
and here is what I came up with

Backing paper is from the Making Memories 'Kate' pad, the slide mount is cut from pink pearlescent card, the candles are cut using a small punch, the greeting is printed using the pc, the small butterfly gem was a freebie on the front of a magazine last month and the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis.

I will try to get the DCM dare done tonight, but I'm not promising. I have just finished typing in 8 pages of OoS for my parents "do" so I'm going in the garden for an hour as it is gorgeous outside.
