Papertake Weekly

Papertake Weekly have the theme of "Anything Goes, with the option of  a new theme, so it could be a new baby, a new beginning or just something new from your stash" this week and I had a couple of birthday cards to make so I decided to join in with the challenge. Oh the joy of having internet during the day (I didn't haven't it at the shop so had to cram everything into an evening)
The Art Deco lady, by Kanban, is my new 'option'. I bought it before Christmas but it stayed in it's bag until Wednesday. I think she is quite elegant so I just kept the theme to black and white with the addition of silver mirror card (which looks black on the photo!)

I used an assortment of dies and punches to create this card

Martha Stewart border punch
Quickutz shoe and handbag dies
Cuttlebug flowers

The sentiments were on the sheet.

I am also entering the card into Di's first Snippet Challenge as the mirror card was from the 'snippet' mountain.
Incy Wincy Designs - anything goes
Secret Crafter - anything goes
Pile It On - anything goes
Pollycraft Monday - Punches

I have a real mish mash of a day today as I need to make some DT cards and I have a photo album and a fascinator ordered so I want to at least start them.

Back soon, thanks for looking.

Monday

Well, I had another busy weekend. DH and I went to town on Sunday morning as I owed him a coat for his birthday which we managed to find then it was a quick dash home as I had work to do! I had a rush order come in at the end of last week which was one of my least favourites...orders of service for a funeral today! What makes the job even sadder than usual is that last month I was making wedding invitations for my cousin and the OoS were for the funeral of her fiance's mum.

So onto a brighter note, I spent all day making birthday cards for the card stand in the shop and these are what I've come up with so far.
Papers - Pink Petticoat, mirror card and the image is from Cornish Heritage Farms and is coloured with Promarkers.
Papers - Funky Hand and Cardcraft Plus, images - Pink Cat Studios, Promarkers
Papers and sentiment - Funky Hand, image - Papermania, Promarkers, small flower punches
Image, papers and sentiment - Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand, tag brad, ribbon and peel off sentiment from my craft stash.
Image, papers and sentiment - Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand, punched flowers from same papers, ribbon from my craft stash.
More Funky Hand papers and everything else from my craft box, Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for looking.

Wedding cards

Good morning all, after a gloriously warm and sunny Sunday we have returned to a cold and murky Monday! I did a wedding fayre yesterday so was glad that the weather was nice as it always brings out more couples than when it rains (or snows as it did the last time I was at that particular venue :))

The following cards were made for hubs to take to work, the first one was from last weekend but the other two were for Saturday just gone. Please excuse the awful photos but I took them quickly with my phone as my camera was up at the hotel.

images - Pink Petticoat and Stampendous
Papers - Pink Petticoat
sentiments - Pink Petticoat and lap top

Prima and ribbon flowers
Nesties
Martha Stewart punches
ribbons and gems are from stock
Kathy's Waffle Sketch File sketch on the third card

Thanks for looking

Today's the day!

It's the youngest DD's Prom this evening. The nails were done yesterday, the hair coloured the day before, hair appointment this afternoon and the rest of the day spent generally getting ready before being picked up by the limo at five o'clock. Oh to be 16 again. We just left school and that was that, besides, I don't think my parents could have afforded the cost of the blooming thing starting with the £25 for the ticket :) Oh well, we can't all laze about being spoilt, I'd best carry on working in order to pay for it lol

So, another card, another challenge. I downloaded Kathy's June sketch when it first went onto the blog but forgot all about it until last night. I was so surprised when I went back to the blog (to check I'd got it right) to find that I had used the same colour scheme as Kathy!! Great minds etc.....

Ribbons from Ribbon Oasis, rub on sentiment from Crate, flower is a Marianne Design Creatables die set and the butterflies are Martha Stewart, ovals are Nesties and the gems are from my stash.

Thanks for popping by.

Rosie-Dee's reveal

Yes, it's that time again...to show the our challenge projects and to remind you that there is still time for you to enter our prize challenge.

Lyn's theme is St Georges Day or 'just red and white' and I chose the latter.

The sentiment is a rub on from DCWV stack that I've had for year (and keep losing then finding :)), the flower is made using a Stampin Up punch and a piece of card candy from Craftwork Cards the punched border is made with the new MS punch I bought in New York last month and everything else is from my stash.
Thanks for looking and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you create.

I'm hoping to have some news on my lap top tomorrow.....if they can't repair it but can just get all my work etc off it it will be a bonus. Fingers crossed.

Rosie-Dee's

challenge this week, in the last of the colour combo month, is to make a card, scrapbook page, altered item or whatever you like but it must be black and white. I chose to make a card as I have three birthdays to make for this week.

paper and Page Frills - Doodlebug
image and sentiment - Debbi Moore
gems - Anita's
butterfly - Martha Stewart
everything else from my stash.

We had a fab weekend weather wise, with yesterday being the better of the two days........it was a scorcher. I sat in the garden and worked. DH decided that he wanted a work place like mine! Their office doesn't have opening windows so the air con is on all the time, the windows are tinted so they never know what the weather is like till they go outside and the coffee machine has been broken all week! Oh, the joys of working from home :)

I had yet another busy week last week. I still have wedding orders coming in and got an email from Debbi's office to see if I could make some Christmas samples ready for the show on Ideal World next week. I really struggle with Christmas before I've been on holiday in August :) but I did manage to get them posted on Friday morning. I then had to strip off my desk and clean it as I had green glitter everywhere LOL!

Must get back to work now as I have 50 invitations to try and get done today. I've also made my DT card for next Sunday so I may be back later with a sneaky peek! Please try to join us for the Sunday challenges.

Take care and tfl. x

Papertake Weekly

I thought I was running late for this challenge again but having revisited the site I realised that the sketch is actually up for two weeks with it being Christmas, phew!
I thought I would make a start on January's birthday cards as I have a few to do. I also need to restock the box DH has at work and at least one of my shops. So the image is a Snag em stamp by Imaginesce coloured with Promarkers which was part of my prize from Wendy at Secret Crafter. I bought a few from Craft U Love a few weeks ago and this is the first time I've had the time to use them.............what a change from making Christmas cards! The papers are from my 'left overs' box and are Love Elsie (I think) and Pink Petticoat which I punched with my new Martha Stewart punch which was also from Wendy. Sentiment is a See D stamp.

Thank you.........

...very much to Wendy from Secret Crafter for my £20 voucher to spend in her shop. My goodies arrived yesterday and this is what I got

Not had chance to play yet as we didn't get back from London till just after one yesterday and I had a large job to do for a local hotel!

This was my large job

140 of the bl**dy things :))
My mum came over to give me a hand and she stayed till eight oclock last night I carried on until 1.45 this morning when I couldn't see straight. My parents came back over this morning as I had a dental appointment at lunch time and we carried on this afternoon. I had a deadline of 5 pm as DH was delivering them for a Christmas 'do' this evening Dad, DD, DS and DH when he got home we finally finished at 5.05pm. DH rang me about 6 and said that the hotel were delighted and were sorry to drop the order in last minute (it was confirmed last Saturday morning, I ordered the stuff on Saturday afternoon and I had the black paper by Wednesday-thank you so much Peter , you saved my bacon again!- the rest of the stuff arrived just before we got back yesterday) Just got to wait and see what the clients thought fo them.

Thank you also to Beryl for this gorgeous award

You are just really kind for thinking of me all the time and I am very grateful :) I will pass it on tomorrow.

Incidentally, the Simply Red concert at the O2 arena was fab and I was really impressed with the place. We next go to see them in Sheffield at the end of March :))

I am now going to have an early night, I am shattered. I now have wireless connection so I will blog hop while I'm watching Strictly tomorrow :)

Take care and thanks for looking. xx
