Page Plans

My last card for now is another challenge card, this time from Page Plans. I used to do this challenge every week and only stopped doing it when I got really busy last year. I'm still busy but can incorporate some of the challenges into card orders. This one also fits with the Secret Crafter's challenge this week This weeks challenge is set by our lovely SUE:- AT THE ZOO As always any creation as long as there is a zoo/animal element on it. My animal is from a children's zoo!!! I've used assorted off cuts from my box. The image used is Sydney Sheep from DewDrop Crafts and I've coloured him with Clear Star and black Sakura pens.....cute or what! Flowers are again by Prima and the brad is Doodlebug.

Two by two

I've used Lesli's sketch over at Page Plans to make both of these cards. The second one fits in with the Secret Crafter's challenge #7 this week which is to use buttons on your card.

Papers on this card are from the DCWV 6 x 6 Christmas pad and the snowman image is from an old SA Kit.
This is the 'Secret Crafter's card'. The paper used on this card is from the Blue Christmas 6 x 6 pad by Anita's, the sticker images down the left hand side are by Papermania and the buttons were from ebay a couple of years ago, I think they are by Craftime but not 100% sure. I love the little snowman button and it was my last one :(

DCM and others!

This dare is Dare 52 of Year 2 for the DCM so we hope you'll help us celebrate our 2nd birthday and join in with our new dare! Team member Rhi has decided to have a little break from cardmaking (we do hope she'll be back soon though!) , but she's come up with the idea for this dare and it's a great one for a Birthday Celebration, She'd like us all to
Paint the Town........ red, green, sky blue pink with yellow dots on, or any colour you fancy, with acrylics, H2Os or watercolours, with brushes, sponges or splatters. We don't mind, as long as you use paint on your cards. So have some fun with the DCM and get Painty this week.

My purple Christmas! The image is from Pink Petticoat and was coloured with Twinkling H2Os, paper is from Debbi Moore and the flowers are Prima.
This card is a using a sketch from Page Plans blog

I bought these gorgeous little Praying and Peeping Angel stamps by Judikins for our personal Christmas cards the first year I was making cards and still love them now. I simply coloured the wings and halos with Sakura glitter pens in gold and mounted them onto burgundy and gold stamps. The paper strip is from last years Christmas papers by Scrapworks and is gorgeous!

This card is the last one I made last night from the bits that were on my desk (well actually I couldn't get all the bits from my desk onto just one card I could fill a wheelbarrow thought LOL)

Paper is again from Scrapworks and the stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I have already found my quota of challenges for today so I shall be busy yet again......don't you just love it!

Catch up

It's a game I seem to be playing a lot just lately! However, I've managed to combine a couple of cards with a couple of challenges again and the first up is the Daring Cardmakers dare from last Friday. It was Jo's turn to set the dare and here is what she said "Jo here this week.... My Majestic theme is quite a simple one.... I would like you to incorporate a Crown (or Tiara) somewhere upon your card! Have fun and I can't wait to see what you create :)"

Here is my cardPapers are 3 Bugs in a Rug and the numbers and crown were cut by hand. I have some large wooden letters and numbers I bought when I worked at school and use those as templates.

The next card is a Page Plans template which unfortunately I can't copy and paste.

I think the paper is K & Co but I'm not 100% sure. The image is by Pixiedust on ebay (the link is on my side bar) and I coloured it with water colour pencils. The sentiment was made on the lap top and the fish is a rub on.

Another card for my brother

Papers are K & Co again and Colorbok. The sentiments are rub ons by MSE and the wording was cut by hand, again using my wooden letters. (I should really use the Robo!!)

This next card is for the friend of the mother of the girl I made the giraffe card for (if you understand all that :)) The mum was impressed with the card I made for her daughter and asked her to order the card as follows, "Can you do a lady with shopping bags and a glass (and/or bottle) of wine please." This was interpreted by the daughter as "she’s an alcoholic who likes shopping!" LOL Anyway, this is what I came up with................

The image and backing paper is by Pink Petticoat and is one of the first downloads I ever bought. I painted her with H2Os and added a bit of Stickles glitter glue here and there. The numbers were cut by hand, the bag is Quickutz and the sentiment is pc generated. The small sentiment on the numbers is from Craftwork Cards and the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis

I have another commission to do but it's one of those that requires some thinking about! In the meantime I'm going to clean and rearrange the furniture in my conservatory!

TTFN.

BOGOF (buy 1 get 1 free)

I used two challenges for this card yesterday,. the first being the DCM Dare and the second, the lovely sketch from Renee at Page Plans
It's me (Kathy) setting you a little challenge this time. One of the things I love about our dares is that although we all start with the same brief, the cards we produce are all so different.
So for my dare I'd like to see what happens when our starting point is the same quotation:
"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best". Henry Van Dyke
I'd like you to use this quotation somewhere on your card It doesn't have to be on the front, or even need to be immediately visible. You could perhaps print it on vellum, add it on a tag, put it inside the card, or chop it up and use all the words "ransom note" style. I've chosen this quotation because I think we sometimes need reminding that everyone is special in their own way, and everyone, without exception has a talent to bring to the world - we should all value our own talents and those of other people more than we do.

I really enjoyed this one, so much so that I made two, thanks Kathy. Paper is Sizzix, frills are Doodlebug and the rest is from my stash.

I decided to make this one into a tag card. I added the ribbon and then mounted the tag onto navy sparkly card. I made a vellum pocket and edged it with (the dreaded) peel offs and added the sentiment.

I'm still making cards for the forces! I sent 120 last Monday, some of which were from my stock box and some were made specially. My mum came over on Thursday and she had made another 35, and I have 29 on my dest ready to have inserts in them. I have stamped and coloured some images ready to use as toppers as I want to get to the 200 mark. If you can help at all, there is a link to Emma's blog (Elf Creations) in my sidebar You don't need to make hundreds, just one card will help the appeal :)

I have to make DD's birthday cards today as it's her birthday tomorrow and it's still not done!

I need to do a stock take this week and I am dreading it! I thought that by making all these cards for the SOS Appeal it would make things a little easier as I've used quite a bit of stuff. Not a chance!!! If I'm not around for a few days it's because I am still counting card blanks LOL I must still have hundreds!

I will photograph all my SOS cards later and add them. Don't know how much later though as we are going out for a Chinese for tea for the two birthday babes in our house this week.

Baby cards and more!

I'm back and challenging!!! I've done the baby cards and started the thank you cards and I have really enjoyed being able to incorporate templates and challenges into my work, so here goes.......the first one up is a Page Plans sketchand here is the first of my baby cards

I think that the striped paper is Papermania but not 100% sure. I do know though that the green paper is from a Funky Hand cd. The charms are from my stash and the nappy (diaper) is hand cut.

The next template is from Di Hickman's blog. It is so long since I've had the time to take part in Di's challenge!

and the final challenge for now is the DCM Dare for today (it's ages since I've done this one too) and this is what's required We're having one of our wonderful Lucky Dips this week, because Anice has very generously offered a prize of a free set of "Shabby Saturday" downloads - all you need to do to have a chance of winning this fantastic prize is to join in with this dare, then come back and let us know where we can see your card. Everyone who joins in has an equal chance of winning, all the names go into the DCM "Virtual Hat" and a name is drawn at random - what more incentive do you need? hehehe

The papers are again from The Funky One cd, not sure where the ribbon is from but the flowers are from Papermania and Dunelm and are held together with a Doodlebug Sugar Coated brad.
The rest of the cards are baby cards
The papers on these two cards are from the packaging in the new Sweet Nothings acetates by Papermania, resourceful or what!?! Die cuts are Quickutz and Cuttlebug.

Paper on this one is Under The Boardwalk from Daisy Bucket and the stamp is by Anita's and is one of the first stamp I ever bought and I still love it.
Now for my favourite bit...................adding inserts and packaging the cards *yawn!*
Take care.

Page Plans ..........

put up the new template in time for me to make a birthday card which needs posting today! DH's step niece is 18 on Wednesday so this had to be done sharpish (cos I forgot) Anyway, this is the sketchand this is my take on it.

I don't know why the image has blurred because I scanned it! Anyhow, paper is Making Memories from years ago, paper frill is Doodlebug, the large numbers were cut by hand from glitter card and the sentiment was generated on the computer.

It is also a dear friend's birthday on Wednesday (but she's not 18 any more ;)) I love pink and yellow together, it shouts out Summer (probably the only one we'll have!) Image, paper and sentiment are all from Pink Petticoat and the flowers are Papermania and Prima. I found the pink and yellow brad in my tub but I'm not sure where it came from. I've added a couple of diamantes and a bit of Stickles glitter to her clothes.

I'm waiting for a couple of orders to come so I can begin my next wedding order so I thought I would do some scrapping. My brother will be 40 in October and I want to make him an album. Late last year I sat and scanned 240 photos brought up from my parents. They weren't all of Scott but I realised that I didn't have many photos of me as a child either so scanned as many as I could. The problem now is that it looks as though I didn't close the dvd when I finished adding them and have lost the bl**dy lot. I am well hacked off at the thought of having to start them all again! :( so later in the week, I will whizz over to mum and dad's and get some of the photos and start again. I managed to get the ones I wanted into one box so with a bit of luck they won't have touched them. All together, there were 5 large plastic storage boxes full!

I am now off to wash the kitchen floor as I still have my head up my bum :))

Back soon. xx

Happy Fathers Day

I finally managed to incorporate the Page Plans sketch (my only challenge this week :() into a Father's Day card for my dad from my kids. This weeks sketch was by Chris

I used another one of my Penny Black images stamped for me by Jo from Only Joking and coloured it with Prismas and Sansador (I think I'm getting the hang of them now-I just wish they wouldn't break when they are sharpened.) and double mounted him onto pale blue and silver card. The papers, faux ribbon and round stickers are all by Papermania. Sorry about the wonky scan LOL My batteries in the camera were dead so I had to scan them quickly as my parents came over yesterday. I can't rescan them cos they went home with them!

This is my card from DH and myself.

I love this image from The Stamp Boutique as it sums my dad up perfectly! He is quite difficult to make cards for as he doesn't have any hobbies. papers on this one are by the English Paper Company and K & Co. Dad is a Sizzlit die.

I can also reveal my second Di Hickman challenge card as a guest designer. This is the template

I made this one for a friend who got married a couple of weeks ago. The papers are from one of the K & Co wedding mat stacks, die cuts are Sizzix, the bride and groom was cut for me by a friend on her Robo and the card was finished off with white organza ribbon from Ribbon Oasis

That's me off back to work now. I have a couple more commissions to slip in amongst the wedding stationery so will hopefully be able to incorporate a couple of challenges.

Page Plans

I received my gift yesterday for being a winner on the Page Plans blog a couple of weeks ago :)

I just love these little stamp sets and have several of them.................but none of these. I was so pleased when I opened my envelope, thanks very much girls :)
Today is my great nephew's third birthday. He is such a precious little thing but an absolute b****r!! LOL He was critically ill at five months with meningitis and my niece was told that if they had left it another 24 hours before taking him to hospital we would have lost him!! This is Jack

and this is the card I made him

The image was printed onto photo paper and decoupaged and his name is printed using a train font I found on my laptop whilst browsing through the fonts list for something else :)

Thanks for looking.

One, two, three

............challenges so I might just be up to date with the challenges I take part in :) I haven't even started the catch up on Just Bex yet, I think I may have to abandon May and start with June! So the first one is for Friday Sketchers # 4 by Heidi

I made this card for a forum birthday (I'm pretty sure the recipient doesn't read my blog so I'm quite safe) The backing paper is Basic Grey, the image is by Pink Petticoat, the flowers are Prima and other bits are from my stash so I'm not sure where it all came from!

My next card is for the Stamp Something challenge. This one is another sketch this time by Katharina. This card is for a friend's birthday. The papers used are by the English Paper Company, the Doodlebug paper frill is embellished with small self adhesive pearls, the flowers are Prima mounted onto silver mirri card and the sentiment is from the Stamp Boutique.

My third challenge is from Page Plans using a sketch by Renee

It's my sister in law's birthday in a couple of weeks so I thought I would get ahead as I am really busy with weddings and planning a surprise 70th birthday party for my mum. The papers are by Brenda Pinnick and were party of the fabby blog candy I won on Kath's blog The flowers are a mix of Papermania and Prima and the sentiment is a rub on.

My final card doesn't use a challenge but I thought I would show it anyway LOL It's a commission for a friend's son's 30th birthday.

I used my lovely 3 Bugs paper pad again (shock horror!) The waves under the kayak/canoe (not sure which it is :)) were done in Word Art and it actually says '30 today'. The die cuts are by Sizzix I think. This is the first time I've used any of them. I bought the packs when I first started card making about 5 years ago and finally opened the packet yesterday *blush*.

Back to work now, thanks for looking.
