Funky Friday

It's all change on the Get Funky blog as we move from being a challenge blog to a blog that is full of inspiration and great ideas, Get Funky And Craft! :) There will be post from one of the team each Wednesday and another over the weekend so if there is anything you would like to see or then please let us know. Anice will also still be giving away her 'freebies' on the Funky Hand website so you will have to keep an eye out for them and here is the current one. We have a fabulous new logo too

So, my card
I made this card for the Boss' s birthday:)

Materials used: Stylish Tree #3 and Christmas Tree #3, both from the O Come All Ye Crafters collections available on the Funky Hand web site as downloads, gold mirri card, die cut flowers and a few crystals.

I made a birthday card to show how versatile this collection is, there are papers throughout the sets which can be used for any occasion.

Thanks for looking, back soon x

Stamp Something

The Stamp Something challenge this week is a bit different:

This week we have a fun challenge for you. It's all about shapes. Let's see how many shapes you can fit onto your projects. The minimum number of shapes to qualify is two, but the sky is the limit on the maximum number of shapes you can include

I have, squares, rectangles, circles, the flower shape, the handbag shape (is it a rhombus?) and then we have scallops too :)

Image is PP, papers were free in a mag, sentiment is from Kirsty Wiseman's cd and everything else is from my stash.

Friday Sketchers

Love this sketch too and the card also fits with the Stamp Something challenge which is In honor of the first day of Spring, we want you to "Think Spring" and create something that makes you feel or think of Spring time. You could use Spring colors, floral images, floral accents, anything you can think of. Let your imagination go wild!

Another Sally-Ann sketch from the same download coloured with Promarkers. I don't know what the striped paper is but I've had it forever. The zig zag border is one of Kirsty Wiseman's freebie papers, the blooms are Prima and the leaves are puched. Not sure where th ribbon is from either but I think it works well on this card.

2 Sketches and bonus

I'm working on a load of charity cards at the moment whilst I'm waiting for a card order to be delivered and yesterday I made seven as a very small contribution to the Marie Curie Cancer Card appeal. I managed to tie in a couple of challenges with the cards but felt quite limited as the cards have to be C6 and I don't make this size very often.

My first card is for Laura's sketch #21

I don't know where the blue paper came from (I think my mum bought it!) and there are a couple of pieces still left in my 'left overs' box.but the dots, 'ribbon' and image are all free sticker from the cover of the new Docrafts magazine!

The bonus is a sketch from Dawn

The image is from Pink Petticoat (and represents the circle on the sketch) coloured with Promarkers and the papers are Auntie Gertie's Garden and Hello Ladies by Kate Teague. I think I must have bought them ages ago in a kit!

Kim Fees......

.....first sketch is just so cute. I had it on my desk top for a few days meaning to use it in my Christmas card making then on Saturday evening I decided to tidy my desk top and put things into folders and promptly forgot about it! So I finally got round to it last night and here are Kim's sketch and my effort (better late than never!)
There is a slight problem with my card which I have only just noticed and that is that I forgot to turn up the bottm right hand corner.............sorry Kim! The papers used are Traditional Christmas by Anita's, ribbon was a freebie on the front of a mag as were the glittered chipboard letters, holly leaves were in my RAK parcel, mentioned several times below.

DCM Friday

Christmas is an expensive time of year (although every day of the year can be potentially expensive to us Crafters ! ;) Anyway, we thought it would be a good idea to run a dare that was 'inexpensive'..This week, we the DCM team, would like you to design a card using a magazine 'freebie' . Either a craft magazine freebie, or indeed any other magazine freebie, papers, embellishments, tools, etc. anything really, as long as it came from a magazine.

Here is my card

The green paper on my card was free with the December issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft. The tree was from a pink kit from Craftwork Cards which DH bought me for Christmas last year! Everything else was from my stash.

I'm now going to wrap DH's prezzies while he's at work....................another job off my list.

Bye for now. xx
