What a beautiful day..........

ay ay, what a beautiful day! (I wish I could sing LOL) the weather has been absolutely wonderful today..........Spring has definitely sprung, for today at least.
I've had another quick burst of card making while I'm waiting for a card order to come (nb Kathy & Sheila, it's for a stationery order ;))
So here they are

A quick thank you card with the simple addition of paper flowers, I think they are Bazzill but I'm not sure. There is also a flower brad and a Prima flower in there somewhere. the corners were hand embossed.

The beautiful little Dress Up Maggie has been coloured with water colour pencils. Paper is Pink Petticoat and the rub on greeting is Papermania.

I think this topper is just so sweet! A friend made it for me a couple of years ago when she first got her Robo and I thought it was about time I used it :) So all there is to add is that the card and blue spotty ribbon were on my desk mountain. I'm pleased to say that it is definitely going down but then I have a large drawer full to get rid of!

Another one of my die cuts from ebay. Papers are by Pink Petticoat and Sugared by Basic Grey and the ribbon is from a pack of three one metre reels from the Range. they cost the grand total of 99p for the pack.

More scrap papers. The black one is from a pack either by Dovecraft or Papermania, I can't remember but I know it was only £2.99 and there is a lot of usable paper in the pack which makes a nice change. The stamp is by Inkadoo and it is one I'm extremely fond of. I stamped it onto white card using a Versamark pad and embossed it using Black Super Sparkle embossing powder from Personel Impressions. The dress was cut out leaving a small border and then run through the Textile embossing folder by Cuttlebug. The ribbon is fastened through white flower eyelets fixed with the Cropodile. Off to bag them now as I need to take them to the shop first thing in the morning.

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of the evening. xx

DCM plus 2!

I am still wading through the mound of paper cut offs and made another three cards from them last night. I have vowed to myself to be good now and not buy anything else until the paper mountain has diminished slightly.................erm, a lot! LOL I'm not sure whether I should include PB stamps in that comment as I received a fabby folder yesterday from my friend Jo and there are at least six in there that I need! One of the three cards I made last night fits the Dare
Now, on to this weeks dare (can you believe its Friday once again ?!:) Well, its my turn (Jane) to set the dare this week. Its very simple really (prickly maybe but..:) I want you to design a card to any theme- but I want you to include pins or needles of some sort. Sewing needles, safety pins, dressmakers pins- any type of pin goes !:)

My pin is in the middle of the flower holding the charm onto the card. Paper is the new Sugared by Basic Grey, ribbon from Ribbon Oasis, flowers from Tracey at Creative Treasures and the rest is off my desk. :)I seem to have an awful lot of pink bits left over! This was a quick card commission for a little girl who likes ballet. Pale pink paper is from a Papermania kit (and it is only sold in the kit unfortunately) I decided that I would scallop the outside edge of the paper with my corner rounder and it fell to pieces in my hand so it ended up just being mounted onto pink card! The other piece of card has been Cuttlebugged and the number three was cut by hand.

My final card is just to go in the box. Paper and image are from Pink Petticoat and the greeting is a Papermania rub on.
I am now going to drink my coffee while I have a quick blog hop before everyone else gets up. It seems ages since I last had a nosey round everyone's blogs.
Thanks for looking. xx

Little extra

............time over at the DCM blog yesterday but I have only just managed to get it done. I did, however, cut the flowers yesterday after seeing them on another cardmakers blog, Creative Makes
They are actually embossed using the blue Easy Score board and hand cut. Anyway, the remit was
Our midweek Little Extra is titled ‘The Flowers That Bloom In The Spring’ and we would like you to create a card with flowers.Simple? Aww but hold on…….there’s a little twist because we don’t want to make it too easy for you. We want your cards to have flowers on but we don’t want to see any Prima’s or shop brought blooms. The idea of this dare is for you create your flowers yourself, so let’s see what you can come up with.

Flowers are cut from pink DCWV textured card and edged with Stickles. The diamante centres are by Doodlebug. The flower stalk is stamped with one of Rhonna Farrer's swirl stamps in lime green and the whole image is mounted onto silver mirror card and then onto paper printed from Pink Petticoat. I picked up on the template from Jo's blog It was a challenge from the Tilda challenge blog. I don't own any Tilda's but I liked the template

My second card is a commission for a friend of MIL so tomorrow it will be winging it's way to Somerset. The lady's grandson is coming home from Iraq next month and she hasn't been able to get a "welcome home" card anywhere so here's where I come in!!!

Not a mind blowing card by any means but I think she will like it..............well, I hope she will :)

Uniform and letters cut from card downloaded from t'internet :)

I shall now get back to the paperwork *yawn* and still need to cut some hearts and initials for a stationery order.

Thanks for looking, back soon.

Baby cards

Good mornng.
DH reminded me last night that there were only two baby cards left in the box he takes to work and one of his collegues wife is due to have a baby any day so I st to and made some more. I finally finished them at 1.55 this morning!! and was up again at 7 so I am shattered.
If you're sitting comfortably I will begin!
Teddy is cut from self adhesive Vivelle using the Accucut Huggable, Loveable Bear and Sleepytime. Paper and card are from my offcut box (it isn't going down any!) Blue card is embossing using the Cuttlebug Paisley folder and the sentiment is a sticker from a MAMBI sheet. Ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis

As above but the greeting this time is a peel off. I found a new unused sheet amongst some papers so I have no idea where they came from as I can't remember where I got them. They are not something I usually use but these tiny ones are quite nice.

Paper is again from the offcut box but I believe it is from one of the 6x6 Making Memories pads. Flowers, ribbon and the feet are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.

Papers this time are K & Co and Doodlebug, ribbon from Ribbon Oasis and everything else is from my stash.

Recipe as above but this time I think the pink stripey paper might be Blonde Moments but I won't swear to it. ;)

Papers this time are Pink Petticoat

I think the stripey paper on this one is from an old Papermania mini album kit. Everything else is from my goody box (or should that be room)

This card is just using pale blue pearlescent card as the mount. everything else as above.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Back soon.

3 times lucky!

I'm like a bus this morning...............nothing for ages then three come along at the same time! LOL
I've just made another card for Di Hickman's template challenge.

Another Pink Petticoat cupcake. I love these images and the papers too. I also like the fact that they are on download so you have them to use straight away (as long as you don't do what i did and delete Henrietta by mistake, now I've got to buy her again. i think the paper on the left is Hot off the Press but I'm not sure, pink card has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder, ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis again and other bits and pieces are from my stash.

Whatever you are upto, enjoy the rest of the holiday

Thanks for looking

Check this out...

I found two new blogs the other day. I can't remember how I came across Jennifer's but I'm glad I did because her work is just lovely. I came across Taylor's blog through Jennifer and her work is just gorgeous too! Thank you so much for sharing ladies, I shall revisit often.

Taylor has a template challenge on her blog and as I need some cards for April birthdays and my stock box, I thought I would give it a go.

and here is my card.

It also fits one of the challenges on Just Bex set by Lis.

Get Stuck In Now there's no excuses for most of you for this challenge Lots of you have been mentioning having this weekend off and soooooo many of you have been boasting on here about all the new stash you've been buying lately So this challenge should be quite simple really, although maybe not for some of you paper strokers.........you know who you are !!!! Simply make anything, but it has to be using your most recent stash.....that means cutting into those new papers girls.

It also fits in with Bea's blog candy shout. She wanted cards with pink on them to celebrate reaching 50,000 visitors.........what a fab achievement.

I used the brown flower and pink paper from my new Basic Grey Sugared pad (I love it) which I bought last week :) Other bits are: cupcake from Pink Petticoat which I have glittered and layered with foam pads, and pink ribbon from Ribon Oasis.

Off to make another couple now then I need to do a couple of bits on my web site before the decorating resumes!!!

What a difference..........

.......a day makes! (There's a song in there somewhere LOL)

The picture above was taken at 7.15 yesterday morning.

This one was taken about 10 minutes ago!!! It could almost be Spring. LOL

How very British.............we can even talk about the weather in a blog :)

I will be back later as I have found a couple of card challenges that have given me ideas for a couple of birthday cards I need for next month.

DCM Friday

I can't believe I've completed a dare shortly after it has been posted :) Another one for the stock!

This week the girls have let me (Sue) loose on my maiden dare so I hope I’ve come up with something you can all play along with. It’s all in the GameTiddlywinks, playing cards, dominos, jig saw pieces…….the list goes on and I’m sure that most of us have a drawer somewhere that has the odd one or two of these lying around in.Well now’s your chance to use them because I dare you to make a card using some of those pieces.Oh and no, you don’t need to throw a double six to start playing........
and here is my very quick card

Not sure what the paper or ribbon are as I've had them a while (and I am trying desperately not to use new stuff untill I get some of my mountain of offcuts used). Playing cards were from a Christmas cracker a couple of years ago (I haven't opened last years yet LOL), I used Doodlebug rub ons and cuttlebug embossing folder for the greeting.
I hope you like it!

Right, now for a couple of hours off work to strip the hall way :( then wedding stationery later.

See you soon. xx

RAK

Just look what I got this morning!

A customer appeared on my doorstep at 9.45 this morning with these in her hand! The front of the card reads "Thank You-With love and Appreciation". It really touched me :) She had been going to ring me all week about some extra invitations but decided just to call on the spur of the moment. I really love my job :)

While I'm here, just have a look at these fantastic presents my friend Jo has made for her boys. They will be so pleased when they get them.

Happy Easter

Another couple of quick cards from me. I am in the process of cutting 200 Sizzix hearts and 200 sets of initials for an order so I do a few then make a card as the box DH takes to work is getting very low.

The first one is for the DCM Midweek extra. Now, on to this weeks mid week dare. Its a nice simple one, happily, and all you have to do is make an Easter card !

The stamp is by Anitas and is coloured with Twinkling H2Os and mounted on a fabric flower from Dunelm. The bottom half of the card is actually pale green but it isn't showing vey well. The brad, eyelet and Quicklet are from my stash.

Next are two men's cards.

The letters are cut using wooden templates from papers from my bit box and were edged with an emery board! I think the striped paper is by Crate Papers but not sure about the dotty one.

The shirt was cut freehand and mounted onto blue glitter card and finished off with pale blue buttons. It was actually cut for a commissioned card just before Christmas but I lost it and had to cut another one!! I found it this afternoon when I cleared a black bag full of dog eared paper and card from a couple of my drawers. It had obviously been picked up with something else. It made for a quick card though!!!

That's it for tonight, thanks for looking.

Back soon.
