Sympathy cards

I had a few Deepest Sympathy cards to make for one family last month and it's a task I sometimes struggle with. I don't suppose anyone really likes making sympathy cards but having to make seven different ones for the same family is quite difficult. Anyway, I managed it and I posted a couple of them last month so I thought I would upload the rest of them as I'm sick of seeing them on my desk top lol I can now catalogue them.

I used a selection of materials from Basic Grey, Funky Hand, Pink Petticoat and Ribbon Oasis.

I'm off now to make a start on my 'to do' list which seems to be growing again already.
Thanks for looking :)

Wedding cards

Hubby had run out of cards again for his discos so I sat this morning and made 8. I still have a couple of birthday cards to make for a couple of parties in the next few weeks but we need to find out what sex the 'party person' is first.

I've 'misplaced' two photos so will add them when I find them. These cards were quick and easy to do the they all incorporate left overs from other projects! Apart from the 'recipe' (which I can't remember where I got it from), all of the images are from Sally-Ann at The Digistamp Boutique and the papers are a mix of Basic grey and Pink Petticoat.

New sponsor

This week over on the Inspirational Card Sketches blog we are being sponsored by My Creative Classroom. Sketch #93 is another of our very talented Stacy's

The sentiment is from a DCWV Quote Stack that I have had for years, I think the patterned paper is from a 6 x 6" pad by Basic Grey, punches, die cuts, decorative scissors and a gem complete the card.

Wanna play? Come on then :)

The big reveal

......of the DT work for Rosie Dee's. I can't believe it's already a week since I last blogged, I'm sure someone is stealing my time! lol I've been at a wedding fayre all day today and am shattered but I am about to go and see my poorly daddy in hospital. He was hoping to be out tomorrow but that isn't going to happen as his consultant has arranged for the heart team to pay him a visit, not good :(
So...my card! The theme for this fortnight is "Blessings" and was set by Lyn

The papers are from Pink Petticoat, the image is a card sticker from Doodlebug, sentiment is from a sticker sheet by MAMBI, ribbon and buttons from stash. Please take the time to join us and don't forget that there is a fabulous Basic Grey stamp set on offer fof the winner.

DT card and

.......a sneaky peek :)

First is my card for last week's challenge which finished off the 'occasions' month. The challenge this time was to make a sympathy card. Not something we like making but something I suppose we must all have to make at some point. I've had to make eight personal ones this year, not something I want to repeat in a hurry! :(

Paper - one of the BG pads (Boxer, I think)
Sentiment - internet

Swirl - QK Rev die

Flowers - Prima
Flat backed SA pearls - stash

Now for my sneaky peek for the challenge this week

Don't forget to pop over to the Rosie-Dee's challenge blog at about 6 pm to see what the new challenge is and how the DT have interpreted it. We look forward to you joining in with us :)

2 Sketches 4 You

....this week has another lovely sketch, I think I will use this one often

The sketch is there on both cards, I just added an extra chip board flower. The papers are all from the Basic Grey 6 x 6 pads but they have lost their cover so I'm not sure what they are. Ribbons, brads etc were from my stash.

These cards also fit in with the challenge from Sunday on Rosie-Dee's blog which was to use chip board.

What no red?

It is that time of the year again...so I thought we could all get busy on a Valentine card...it doesn't have to be for Valentine - just a romantic card...BUT no red (or pink.....that is too close to red!) ....so how easy is that!
I seem to have been making Valentine cards forever so need all the help I can get at the moment! That before I even think about one for DH ;) so I thought I would give the new challenge on CBC a go.

I found this piece of backing paper when I was looking for something else and decided to use it as a colour combination for my card. I'm not sure what make the papers are but I think they may have come from an old SA kit. I covered the chipboard heart with brown card and pale blue paper and tied them together with pale blue shimmer ribbon. The letters are Wassail by Basic Grey.

Dewdrop Craftz

Good morning bloggers, after all the rain last night it's a lovely day so far in our little corner of the world :)
I 'spoke' to Nikki from Dewdrop Carftz last night and she is happy for me to show the cards I've made so far for the release of the new stamp, so here they are!
I stamped the image three times onto white card and once onto patterned paper and decoupaged him. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but I cut a couple of very thin strips of paper and wound them round his thumb as a bandage :)

On the next card I just used him flat.

I cut his apron from gingham paper but it didn't look right so I coloured it with one of my Promarkers. The paper is from a 6x6 Dovecraft paper pack, the ribbons are from Ribbon Oasis as usual and the hammer charm is from my stash.

I also made this card yesterday and forgot to add it with the others! This is definitely one of my best selling cards :)

I made the next two cards last week to say 'hi' to blogging buds and didn't want to show them before they were received but neither has acknowledged receiving them so I'll show them anyway!

Papers used are from K & Co, Brenda Pinnick, Pink Petticoat and Basic Grey and the lettering is Wingo Zingo alphabet by Sizzix.

I haven't come across the Sketch Saturday blog before but my circle cards fit their challenge :)

Well I think that little lot has brought me up to date so I will see you soon :)

Card Sketches and templates

I think I've mentioned before how I love sketches :) and as I have a pile of cards to make today, I thought I would take advantage of all the new sketches/templates posted on some of the challenge blogs and forums. The first one I finished at 12.45 this morning! It was Chris's turn this week to provide the sketch and it is brilliant as usual. Have a hop over to the Page Plans blog and see some of the DT cards, they are fab!

This card is part of a three card order. One to a granddaughter and two to the little girls from the dogs. This is the first. The paw was copied ruffly (sorry!) from a paw print rubber stamp and enlarged on the photocopier. Papers are Basic Grey, English Paper Company and DCWV, the name is spelt out in silver coloured brads and the sentiment was done on the PC.

I will be back later as I have quite a few cards to make as I have a day off from the salon, then tomorrow is my last day as my friend will be back at work on Wednesday.

Page Plans

Another fab card template and me playing catch up (again)!!

Papers used are Basic Grey and English Paper Company. tag is embossed using a Cuttlebug folder, suit is Quickutz and I think the baby is a Bosscut die but not 100% sure. Brads and ric rac from my stash.

One down, three to go (so far)..........challenges that is. I'm also trying to get stuff together for two wedding fayres on Sunday, I have appointments all week and I organising a 30th birthday too. :) Good job I work well under pressure and another good thing is that it leaves me no time for household chores ;) so if you come to visit..........bring a duster!! :)

Back soon, thanks for looking.

DCM plus 2!

I am still wading through the mound of paper cut offs and made another three cards from them last night. I have vowed to myself to be good now and not buy anything else until the paper mountain has diminished slightly.................erm, a lot! LOL I'm not sure whether I should include PB stamps in that comment as I received a fabby folder yesterday from my friend Jo and there are at least six in there that I need! One of the three cards I made last night fits the Dare
Now, on to this weeks dare (can you believe its Friday once again ?!:) Well, its my turn (Jane) to set the dare this week. Its very simple really (prickly maybe but..:) I want you to design a card to any theme- but I want you to include pins or needles of some sort. Sewing needles, safety pins, dressmakers pins- any type of pin goes !:)

My pin is in the middle of the flower holding the charm onto the card. Paper is the new Sugared by Basic Grey, ribbon from Ribbon Oasis, flowers from Tracey at Creative Treasures and the rest is off my desk. :)I seem to have an awful lot of pink bits left over! This was a quick card commission for a little girl who likes ballet. Pale pink paper is from a Papermania kit (and it is only sold in the kit unfortunately) I decided that I would scallop the outside edge of the paper with my corner rounder and it fell to pieces in my hand so it ended up just being mounted onto pink card! The other piece of card has been Cuttlebugged and the number three was cut by hand.

My final card is just to go in the box. Paper and image are from Pink Petticoat and the greeting is a Papermania rub on.
I am now going to drink my coffee while I have a quick blog hop before everyone else gets up. It seems ages since I last had a nosey round everyone's blogs.
Thanks for looking. xx

Check this out...

I found two new blogs the other day. I can't remember how I came across Jennifer's but I'm glad I did because her work is just lovely. I came across Taylor's blog through Jennifer and her work is just gorgeous too! Thank you so much for sharing ladies, I shall revisit often.

Taylor has a template challenge on her blog and as I need some cards for April birthdays and my stock box, I thought I would give it a go.

and here is my card.

It also fits one of the challenges on Just Bex set by Lis.

Get Stuck In Now there's no excuses for most of you for this challenge Lots of you have been mentioning having this weekend off and soooooo many of you have been boasting on here about all the new stash you've been buying lately So this challenge should be quite simple really, although maybe not for some of you paper strokers.........you know who you are !!!! Simply make anything, but it has to be using your most recent stash.....that means cutting into those new papers girls.

It also fits in with Bea's blog candy shout. She wanted cards with pink on them to celebrate reaching 50,000 visitors.........what a fab achievement.

I used the brown flower and pink paper from my new Basic Grey Sugared pad (I love it) which I bought last week :) Other bits are: cupcake from Pink Petticoat which I have glittered and layered with foam pads, and pink ribbon from Ribon Oasis.

Off to make another couple now then I need to do a couple of bits on my web site before the decorating resumes!!!
