Funky Friday

I feel so lucky this week as I have had so much beautiful goodies to play with that it is sometimes difficult choosing what to use first......it's so difficult being on manufacture's design teams. Only joking, I feel truly honoured to be able to work with some fantastic team mates to bring you a little bit of inspiration for when you buy the products yourself.

This weekend will see the release of some fantastic products from Funky Hand. Anice has made a really beautiful collection of papers and alphabets in shades of pink and grey and it is called "Just For Jen". It is our little reminder that Breast Cancer affects so many of us at some time in our life and it only takes seconds to check our breasts on a regular basis. You are never too young and you are never too old, just be safe and if caught early it can be completely curable.

So onto my first card made just using the papers alone, oh and a piece of ribbon and a flat backed pearl, how easy is that.

I've used four of the papers on this card, the band and the flower are from scraps from other cards. The flower is made using a Tim Holtz die but it can easily be made without. Cut a strip of paper about 2cm wide and 30 cm in length and pleat it at approximately 1/2cm intervals. Tape the ends together and squash it down onto a smaller circle of paper covered in glue. Decorate as required and hey presto....a flower made to match any of your projects :)

I've used the same papers to make the following cards (and still have plenty left to make more cards) but have used a couple of new digi stamps which are also due for release shortly.

Both coloured in an assortment of pink and grey Promarkers to match the papers.

My lovely team mate Kathy posted some of her DT makes using the same kit, on the Get Funky And Craft blog yesterday and as always, they are amazing!

Well, I'm now off to try to use up the rest of my papers, thanks for dropping by. xx

Funky Friday

For my card this week I have been playing around with the papers from the new Christmas Tree download,  which is available from the Funky Hand web site for the fabulous price of £2.49.

Christmas Tree downloadable backing papers.
This download makes up, along with a matching Wordbook (at £3.49 or together as a multi buy for £4.99) part of the Christmas selection "Oh Come All Ye Crafters".
Christmas Tree Multibuy downloadable backing papers.
Instead of making a Christmas card I made a 'new job' card, I hope you like it.
I'd like to remind you that there is still time to join in with the DT over on the Get Funky! challenge blog. The theme this week is WORDBOOKS and if you don't have any of the Funky Hand wordbooks then worry no more, Anice has very kindly made up a freebie so you can play too. It's my turn to add my book on Sunday and I will look forward to seeing what you come up with. Take a look at the challenge blog, there are some absolutely fabulous wordbooks over there.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to. Thanks for looking :)

Funky Friday

When we were in Zakynthos last week we all said that we felt as though we had been over there for months....we've been a few times and are getting to know a few of the locals now, now I feel as though we haven't been away at all, even my poor baby thinks the same and she is only 18!!!

So yes, as it's Friday already I have a couple of Funky cards for you.

The papers used for this card are from the Wishes and Kisses cd as is the pre-coloured image, the ribbon is available on the web site too. The only extras on this card are a few s/a crystals at the bottom of the white panel.
For this card I used papers from the brand new, just released Daisy Day on the Funky Hand web site. I just added some gems (in the middle of the flowers) and a piece of ribbon.
Thanks for dropping by :) x

Through the window

The week 50 challenge on the Polka Doodles blog is
The theme for this last challenge of 2011 is:
Through The Window...
and this is what I came up with (this is my first Polka Doodles challenge so please be gentle with me!)
All the paper elements on the card are magazine freebies but I can't remember if the window etc are from Polka Doodles too as I threw away the strip from the bottom of the page! I did manage a few more cards from the papers though

Image from Forever Friends, sentiment was generated on my lap top.

Stamped Christmas tree image is from Wild Rose Studios and the die cuts are from a download by Nitwit Collections
I like this set of papers so much that I have been onto the Polka Doodles web site this evening for a nose and was thrilled to see that they can be bought as a download..........guess what I bought :)

Teas Up!

What a fab day we have had today. I've been outside since 9 o'clock this morning. I made myself a coffee and brought the papers out and st and read them, hubby got up and made us a bacon sandwich and then I started weeding. What an uphill climb that is. I have really neglected the garden since I opened the shop and the weeds are unbelievable, some of them reach about 3' high!! There are usually frogs hiding in amongst the long grass but we don't seem to have any this year, I don't know where they've all gone as we had loads of frog spawn. I hate the blooming things (and slugs) and always wear gloves in case I accidentally touch one. I was weeding round a huge hosta (cos I forgot to split them last year!!) and thought I had caught hold of a bramble. When I moved the leaves to see why it wouldn't budge it was a big fat hedgehog laid asleep....I don't know who was more shocked, it or me lol I've planted up some planters and baskets and it has all been watered so it's job well done. I have only managed to weed one side and across the bottom though. Our back garden measures approx. 140' long so it's like painting the forth bridge. Plenty of time to do the rest :)

I've had a shower and washed my hair and am now sat on the patio in my pjs with a cup of coffee and my lap top. DH and DD2 are both out and have been since 1.30 and DS is holed up in his room moaning about the heat. It's just me out here in the quiet and there is just a gentle breeze blowing.

So onto why my post is called Tea's Up....Anice at Funky Hand has just added a new download to the web site and yes, it's called Tea's Up and it can be downloaded from the web site.

Myself and my team mates have had the download to play with for a few days so we could make some samples to show you how versatile it is.

I hope you like them.

Thanks for reading.

More 'Funk'

It's raining...and I can almost hear my garden saying thank you lol and I'm sat here listening to it pinging on the conservatory roof!

You must take a look at the new download created by the fab Anice at Funky Hand

How cool is this? and it works brilliantly well with the spotty download too. The 'Funkettes' have been playing with the papers for a couple of weeks now and we have come up with loads of lovely samples and here are a couple of mine.

I hope you like them :)
