Funky Friday

Well peeps, true to form I am late again. I don't know what it is about these Fridays but I simply end up too busy to update my blog! This week, however is different as I'm not very well. I've got this darned cold/flu bug which is going around at the moment :( My throat feels as though I'm chewing glass, I've got a barking cough, am hot one minute and cold the next and I don't know where hurts the most. Thank you darling #2 daughter...this is one thing I wouldn't have minded you not sharing!!!

My cards were ready in plenty of time to post and I don't know why I didn't schedule them at the beginning of the week when I scheduled my Kanban post, but there you go. Maybe this week I will get my cards made early again and get them up on a post just in case something happens again, it would be nice to actually show them on a Friday as I should.

I have made two very different cards this week. The first is a quick card made with off cuts of paper from one of the Christmas collections, left over from Christmas cards, and a pre coloured image from the Wishes and Kissed cd

A typewritten sentiment and an off cut of red ribbon finished the card ready for hubby to take to work with him on Friday morning ready for the evening wedding reception he was djing at.
The second card is from the new download collection Where The Fairies Live and I coloured it with Promarkers. I love these little tree houses, they are so cute! The papers are off cuts again,. The horizontal paper is from the Wishes and Kisses cd, I'm not sure about the others.

Well that's it for me tonight but I will definitely be back tomorrow to finally update here from the weekend.

Take care, sleep tight and thanks for dropping in! :) xx

Get Funky Sunday

Good morning, I'm running slightly late this morning with my post as I had to do my Get Funky
post this morning as it was my turn to show my Wordbook. Lou is hosting the challenge this month and I'm sure that the DT have done her proud, there are some amazing wordbooks on the blog with more to come. There is still plenty of time to enter and who knows, you may just be the winner of a Funky Hand download of your choice (including the two new Christmas downloads :)

I've done a pictorial for my book this time just in case there is someone who downloads the FREEBIE word book Anice has come up with this month. How many other challenge blog owners actually give you the materials for you can join our fab little challenges?

So here goes,

Print off your wordbook
Print a paper of your choice onto the reverse of the pages an cut out. From the scrap pieces cut four strips measuring the height of your wordbook and 2 cm wide.
Score each page at 2cm from the left side
Glue the spare strips onto the scored piece on the left side.
Punch four holes equally spaced 1cm from the left edge on the scored piece
Fasten the pages together. As you can see, I've used ribbon but you can use a Bind It All or book rings or anything else you have to hand.

Just in case my instructions don't make a lot of sense :) Anice has a fab video tutorial here We are all looking to see what you come up with.

Thanks for dropping by.

Funky Friday

I thought the weather was supposed to change here at Scruff's Corner but it has piddled it down for most of the day. I hope it changes tomorrow as two of my couples are getting married and it's my mum's birthday....so come on Mr Sunshine, we need to see you!

Sorry about the lateness of my post but I have been in wedding stationery mode all day and have had people in and out all day collecting.

My card

I decided to make a joy fold card as I haven't made one for ages. I've used the free Funky Hand paper for this month with the remaining papers coming from my FH bit box and the images are precoloured digi stamps from the Happy Happy Birthday and Craft The Year Away cds with the addition of Sakura Glaze and Stardust pens.

Don't forget that there is still plenty of time to enter the Get Funky! challenge, in fact you could get the kids crafting and entering too. Please just remember our on little rule though, you must use a Funky Hand product to enter. Why not pop over and have a look at some of the fab projects my DT mates have posted.

I'm going to add this to Di's Snippet Challenge blog as it's made up from left overs. I meant to add a card earlier in the week and forgot all about it. Sorry Di.

Thanks for looking.

We wish you a merry....

Christmas! I think that should read, "Bah Humbug", I'm just about all Christmas'ed out. I seem to have made so many blooming Christmas cards and I still haven't started on the family ones!!! Oh well, not to worry. I made these last week for the school fayre

The papers are all pieces from my "left overs mountain", yes, I have a separate box for Christmas scraps and that doesn't seem to be going down either, lol. I might just go and add these to Jules' Snippets as they definitely fit the challenge.

The makers I recognise are Funky Hand, Pink Petticoat and Papermania. Most of the images are from the new Twelve Crafters Crafting cd from Funky Hand and the top image of Santa and Rudolf are from the very talented Sally-Ann at Digistamp Boutique, everything else is from my stash.

Just a quick reminder, there is still time to take part in my Christmas/Birthday challenge over on the Get Funky blog I have asked for a Christmas AND a non Christmas project this time but there is a slight catch....they both need to be made with Christmas paper. You must use a Funky Hand element on them and Anice has made a lovely freebie paper if you would like to use it.

Right, I must go and do something now although I have been out and tidied my mum's flower shed as she is coming over this morning to do my table centre for Christmas day....and you literally couldn't get through the door. We had just been plonking stuff in there as we came across it and there were two shelving units parked in the doorway. I had to take them out so I could get in to sort it lol

Back later, thanks for looking.

Get Funky June challenge

It is time for the new challenge over at the Get Funky! blog and this month it is Anice's turn to set the challenge. She has come up with a super sketch

and a funky new freebie which can be found here

Please remember that to be entered into the draw you must use something by Funky Hand which is why Anice posts a freebie every month.

Don't forget to leave us a comment so we can come by and admire your work.
