All work and no play!

I have just caught up with a few card orders and realised that some of them fit the 'haute couture' challenge on the Just Bex forum.
I really must learn to scan straight!
The next 2 are for twin girls.

Right, now back to the seating plan!

I have been meaning to show this since I got it back. It is just so lovely and such a fab keepsake that I shall treasure it for ever.

And finally.........

.........I have just completed my final round in the challenge on the Just Bex forum. How proud am I?

I'm not a scrapbooker by any means and have only dabbled. By that I mean I have probably only done 3 or 4 pages but I do like Becky Fleck templates and I had a really cute subject. :)) Will now go and introduce him to the other forum members.

That's all folks

Mirror, mirror on the wall..........

My groovy mirror has got dressed. Today it has decided to go floral, yesterday it was naked all day as you can see.
From this

To this. Unfortunately I have had to scan them as hubby has taken the camera to work. I will get him to take a photo of it for me to add tomorrow.

Take care.

That's better!

Running out of time

After yesterday's craft/wedding fayre I was shattered but I delivered my stationery order to a very happy but nervous bride to be who gets married on Saturday. I didn't do much after I got home except make my first ever ATCs. They are very amateurish but bright and fit (in my opinion) with the theme of summer. This is yet another challenge from the wonderful Bex I must get a move on as a couple of the challenges finish tomorrow night, one being to alter a mirror so this should be my next challenge.Today I made my first maze book. This was taken from the instructions here It was a lot more simple than I thought it would be.

I have even managed to make the little extra for the DCM

This weeks little extra is to use Black and ONE other colour only. We, the design team decided to be really nice to you all and allow shades of that one colour to make it really easy for you (and us...he..he...! (see aren't we nice to you ?).

This is one of my favourite colour combinations. I just love black and white. The blooms are from Sarah's Cards and Papermania and the papers are from a 6 x 6 paper pack from Dovecraft.

Happy crafting!

Challenge 4

....was to alter a clock. My super duper expensive clock is from Tesco for the princly sum of ..........£1.20 LOL and it has been changed from thisto this

I am now going to attempt to make a Maze Book I have had this one in my favourites for ages and haven't got round to making it. It's my mum's birthday in July and as she is a card maker too, I like to try to come up with something different for her. I think this might just do for this year. Thanks Sue and Bex :))

If it's Sunday it must be.........

........Challenge 3! The challenge was to make 3 baby cards or scrap a baby. I took the easy option. A card for a girl, a card for a boy and a neutral card. I love making baby cards.

Challenge 2 was to make a fridge magnet. Above is the front and below is the back view, just so it can be seen to have a magnet on it!

I have also managed the DCM challenge today too. The brief was as follows:-

This week it's my turn (Jo) and I'm going to dare you to use bits and bobs from the office for your cards. It's been a while since I had a 'real' job - other than being a Mum and of course playing with bits of paper...Reminiscing... I would like you to make a card using some thing that you would normally find in an office environment. Such as... staples, paperclips, paper fasteners, file folders, library cards, hole punches, lined paper etc you get the drift.

And here is my card

And finally I have finished the stationery for one of the weddings I have in at the moment. I'm doing a wedding fayre tomorrow and the bride and groom to be are collecting it from there. The wedding is next Saturday and although we have been invited, hubby is working so we can't go. This is a small portion of their stationery

I must now go and sort the few final bits for tomorrow..................and try to alter a clock! LOL

Challenge 5

Three more cards from me. This time we were challenged, on the just bex forum, to make three (would be good but 10 would be better!) cards for 'no reason' and they must be bright and cheerful. And here they are, I hope they fit the bill LOL

Challenge 1

Bex has just issued 10 challenges on her forum and this is my attempt at number 1. Papers are from the new Hopscotch Boy scrap pad by K & Co and Tutti Frutti collection from Craftwork Cards
Right, off now to try challenge 2.

Here's one I made earlier..........

.........last week actually for a lovely friend's birthday.
The papers are LilyKate again (I do love this pad), the flowers are from Sarah's cards, the stamp is one of the Rhonna Farrer Flourish v2 and the button are from the vitage set from Crafts by Carolyn

This card was made for my friend's granddaughter's Christening. The image is a stamp from Elzybells. It is stamped onto acetate and coloured with Twinkling H2Os. It's much prettier in real life.

This is the box lid for the Christening card. The papers and letters are from the new range from Papermania. The flowers are from Dunelm and Sarah's cards again and the brad in the middle of the card is from Crafts By Carolyn

The Bookatrix card is another one for the same baby.
I received another pair of crocs this week. I already had black Scutes and blue and white Athenas but have wanted a pair of navy blue Crocs to wear with jeans. This week I managed it but they are mock Crocs. They look the same and are just as comfy. In fact I've worn them all the time since they arrived on Wednesday! :)
I have another Wedding Fayre on Monday and have a couple of things I need to do in preparation so work beckons.

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

I meant to blog yesterday about my wedding fayre on Sunday but I got so enthralled in my work (!) I forgot all about it. Then I thought I would do it yesterday evening.....................again I got so wrapped up in making cards, by the time I realised I hadn't blogged it was 11.35 pm so I went to bed.

The wedding fayre was successful. I sold some jewellery and a couple of tiaras then yesterday I had a phone call from a lady whose favours I made last month saying she needed some more. I have an appointment tonight to discuss a stationery order with a B2b and I took a booking for a jewellery party next month............so all in all I'm a very happy bunny :))

I had a double table and as you can see on the table above I have quite a collection of tiaras and fascinators. The picture below shows my whole set up (with hubby's disco gear behind it!)

I managed to get the card made for the DCM challenge again. I think that is 3 in a row now!! The challenge this time was set by Tracie and this is what she said

For this weeks dare, I dare you to "start from scratch" I want to you design a card with NO purchased/pre-assembled embellishments - that means no blooms unless you cut them yourself, no buttons, brads etc etc. I guess how easy this is depends on your usual style

And here is my card. The flower is made from some freebie ribbons I got on the front of a magazine a while ago. It looks much nicer in real life because the scanner has flattened the flower!

I am really pleased with this next card. I think it is what is commonly known as simple but effective. The stamp is from The Stamp Boutique on ebay.

My final card for now features a cutie stamp which I had sent to me by a dear friend who was closing her online craft shop. The 'picture frame' is cut from the new wedding scrap pad by K & Co and the paw prints are another stamp from the Stamp Boutique.

Work beckons. I may be back later. bfn

Oh my

More for the challenge on Carolyn's forum. I have (almost) done the front and back covers of my journal and I've done my intro pages.

I made a necklace, which had to have some pink in it, for Challenge 4

The next 3 cards were for Challenge 6. The theme was obviously Romance. One had to contain the word LOVE, one the word CHERISH and the third could be anything.

The final card in tonights offering is for Challenge 7-a card with no greeting. This is one of my favourite images by the lovely Joanna Sheen I have used it for birthday, engagement and wedding.
I don't think I am going to get many more challenges done but if I do I shall post pictures here. I am now going to go and try to add the images to Carolyn's gallery...........easier said than done!!
