Made in Zakynthos

I thought I would show you some of the jewellery I made whilst on holiday in Zakynthos last month. I always take some beads with me when we go over there as I find it a great way to unwind, sitting by the pool making jewellery. However, if I took less beads I could probably take more clothes, well actually the three of us could as I always share my beads between all three cases :)

The earrings are made from Lucite flowers in various colours and each flower centre is a Swarovski crystal.

The necklace is made using AB acrylic 'crystals', silver lined clear seed beads and from silver frosted round beads
The bracelet is made using the same beads as above but without the silver frosted beads. It also uses Lucite flowers and is finished off with a sterling silver clasp.

This bracelet / bangle is so effective. One half of the bangle is silver plate and the other half is purple suede thong. It closes by looping the thong over the heart and is kept shut using the round diamante bead which slides up and down.

There, I hope this has made a change as it's not very often I get to just sit and make jewellery unless it's commissioned but we're back to cards tomorrow. Well it's actually a card and a.....ha, not telling, you will just have to pop by tomorrow and have a look :)

Thanks for looking.
Sleep tight. xx

Wedding jewellery

It's been another busy week here in 'The Corner' but yesterday was a 'chilled' sort of day. Why? well I sat making jewellery all day, which I find very relaxing. The following pieces have all been ordered this week. I made two each of the necklace and earring sets and one each of the bracelet and tiara.

All the jewellery has been made with Swarovski crystals (and pearls where required.)

Thanks for looking :)

Wedding jewellery

I had some wedding jewellery ordered from the wedding fayre last Sunday and this is the sample I made to show the bride.

If she likes it I have two of them to make. It's made using 5mm Swarovski AB crystals and gold bugle beads and it is really sparkly! I love working with these crystals.

I also had a tiara ordered (from the lady who ordered the never ending card below) and this is what evolved from her description :)

Again, the picture doesn't pick it up but it is really sparkly as I've used 4mm AB crystals and pearls, both by Swarovski.

And last but not least, I made DH a card to take to work with him last weekend and have another three to make for this weekend. It's a good job I enjoy my work lol

My usual Pink Petticoat downloads, gems and ribbon.

I'm off to start cutting place cards now so make be back later.

Flutter by butterfly!

Just a quick message to add a picture of a 'sample' tiara which I made this afternoon for one of my brides as there is a challenge on Crafts By Carolyn to use butterflies on your work. If my bride likes this one then I have two to make for her bridesmaids. It's made using 5mm Swarovski ab crystals and is an absolute sod to photograph lol.

I'm rather pleased with this one although it's only a pretend one for now......I think I might do it on a comb too :)

Wedding jewellery

Well after one of the crappiest of weeks again I thought I would lift the spirit of things by searching out some of the many projects I have undertaken and not got round to blogging. Whilst I was sorting out my desk top and clearing away some files I came across the following picture. Now I thought I had added this a while ago, before the wedding actually, but then I realised that I couldn't have done as I didn't finish it till about 2am on the morning of the wedding!! LOL

My dress and fascinator were black and ivory so I used AB crystal, jet black and silk Swarovski crystals to make myself a matching set of necklace, bracelet and earrings. I don't know if you can make it out, but there is a little butterfly in the centre of each earring (see close up). The beads were threaded onto silver tiger tail and I used sterling silver findings. The clasp on the necklace is a Swarovski rose clasp and it is just gorgeous.

I was really pleased with the way they turned out :)

Last week I......

.......was bloomin busy as usual :) I had a jewellery party on Thursday and had to up my stock level a bit so this is what I came up with (please excuse the ropey photos-I just cannot get the hang of photographing jewellery!).........
This necklace was ordered by a lady who couldn't make it to the party.

My first magnetic necklace. It is lilac iridescent and white hematite beads with silver plated findings!
This bracelet is made from silver lined Myuki 2mm seed beads and amthyst Czech crystals.

This bracelet is made using white magnetic Hematite beads and white pearls. It is finished with a sterling silver clasp.
Another magnetic necklace using silver coloured hematite beads and pale pink Czech glass beads. I bought the pink beads in Cornwall last year and have so far resisted using them :))
I love this bracelet and am going to make myself one. It is again magnetic and made from multi coloured magnetic hematite beads and Myuki seed beads.

DD loves these two as they are similar to some of the necklaces she wears so I will add one of them to her Christmas pressies!
A very simple necklace made with a foil lined green heart and over 300 clear silver lined seed beads.
This has got to be one of my favourites. The focal fan is aventurine and the only other beads on this necklace are AB Swarovski crystals and they pick up the light brilliantly. I've used sterling silver findings to finish off this necklace.
I bought this mesh at the craft show I went to a few weeks ago and had never come across it before. I wish I had though because it's great for making funky jewellery. This necklace is made from pale gold mesh and large copper lined pony beads. I made a black and red one last night as part of an order from Thursday but haven't photographed it yet.
I made little bows as the focal point :)

And last but not least, a couple of beaded book hooks. These are great for little stocking fillers.
If by any chance anyone is interested in any of my jewellery, you can contact me via my email address in the side bar as I haven't had chance to add the pictures to my web site yet.

Ho ho ho!!

I'm well under way now with my Christmas samples for Debbi but obviously can't show them yet but at least we've got wintery type (well almost) weather. I always struggle to make Christmas cards when the sun is blazing and it's warm outside :)
I can, however, show you Rosie's necklace I made to match her bracelet from DD.

I used irridescent 1.5mm Miyuki Delicas, bronze seed beads and 4mm Swarovski AB crystals. I looks lovely in real life but I couldn't get a really decent picture of it. I also made a card to send with it. Stamp is from Funky Kits and the backing paper (I think) is from an old K & Co pad. They were posted to day so hopefully Rosie will get them tomorrow.

And now the list :)

'To do' list

cards for Debbi well under way now

5 cards for September birthdays 3 done

brother's scrapbook first page done!

seating plan and table names (just waiting for details from bride and groom)

prepare for a wedding open day on 6th September

6 thank you cards for my box

6 baby boy cards for my box

That's it for now.

Thanks for looking.

Bridal jewellery

This is another peep at what I've been up to over the last week. The tiara and first necklace were made for a bride who gets married on 6th July and the second necklace was for her chief bridesmaid.
I used 4mm and 6mm Swarovski crystals and assorted Swarovski pearls.

4mm Swarovski crystals and assorted Swarovski pearls were used for the necklace, bracelet and earrings. It doesn't quite show it properly but the necklace and bracelet are both 4 strand.
This necklace set were made with the same components as the one above but only using two strands.
Last but not least for this time is

...a necklace, bracelet and earrings made for another bride to be and again I used Swarovski pearls and crystals.

My to do list today consists of: clean house!!! make an exploding box (ordered), make six cards and a clock (ordered) so I may be back later with something else to show, or I may not LOL

Thanks for looking and leaving the lovely comments. they are really appreciated.

Copper top!

I've just finished my card for the DCM Little Extra and.......................I love it!!! It's not very often I say that, but I'm really pleased with this one. The remit today is We are introducing a new series to our little mid week dares, based around traditional and anniversary gift themes to inspire a design. We are not necessarily looking for an anniversary card (although obviously that’s allowed :) the card can be for any occasion but it should be inspired by the gift theme of the chosen year. Now, we could start with 1st Anniversary, but that would mean you'd be able to guess the next dare in the series, and that would be too easy eh? :) So we've decided to pick the dare year randomly and we are starting off with'The 7th Anniversary'We’d like you to make a card inspired by the Traditional or Modern gift themefor a 7th Anniversary, which is……'Wool or Copper'
The papers are from the Sugared pad by Basic Grey and K & Co mat stacks. The sentiment was printed straight onto a piece of co-ordinating paper, using a selection of fonts, which was then cut up and edged with copper ink. The key was cut by hand from a template which was a freebie from PaperCraft Inspirations and the copper heart is from my stash. I can't remember where it came from as I bought it about four years ago! I've left the greeting off as I think it could be used for lots of different occasions.

I've done really well now and remembered to photograph these bookmarks before I've wrapped them in tissue (I usually have to unwrap them :))

They are both made using AB Swarovski crystals and Czech beads and sterling silver charms.

I'm now going to parcel them up and get them in the post.

BFN :)
