Baby shoes!!

I am hoping that someone who visits my blog can help me please.

I had a lady round this afternoon about Christening invitations (which I was really chuffed about as I made her wedding stationery about four years ago!) and the design she has chosen incorporates little silver shoes similar to these

My problem is that I never, for one minute, thought they would be discontinued (famous last words)! The good news is that I found two in my stash, the bad news is that I need 18!!! I have been everywhere I can think of, this afternoon and only found them once which is how I found out that they were dicontinued. If anyone has any lurking in the back of a drawer and are willing to sell them I will be more than happy to buy them off you or send a crafty swap or anything else you desire (within reason ;))

I have a couple more places to try before go back and tell my customer that I can't get them but am all googled out for this evening. I can here some of you asking why I took the order when I didn't have the stuff............well, as I said before, I didn't think about them being discontinued. They are not something I use any more so just thought I had some in my box!!

I would love to hear from anyone who could help me (and I'll be your best friend :)), my email address is on my side bar.

TIA

Another double

This time I've combined the Papertake Weekly challenge which is a recipe as follows

1 circle
2 ribbons
3 stamps or stamped images

with the sketch for Mojo Monday

........but I flipped it on it's side! Ok, so the three stamps are the large butterfly image (which is an unmounted stamp I bought years ago from ebay) coloured with Promarkers, the flower in the centre of the Happy Birthday (which is from the Papermania Marie Curie stamp set) and at the bottom right hand corner there is a flourish which I embossed with clear powder so it isn't showing very well (this one is from a Studio G stamp set). My two ribbons and one circle are self explanatory ;) Paper is Bloomers by Doodlebug.

And that's my lot for tonight.

Colour Create

Sharon has come up with the lovely colour combination this week and and I've loved this one as much as all the others! There is some fabby candy on offer this week but your work must be for this challenge only if you fancy being in with a chance of winning.

So, the colours are as follows

This card is another from one of my own sketches which is currently scrawled in a book. I think I need lessons in how to do them on the computer then I can share them ;) So, the image is my new Anya stamp from Dies To Die For coloured with Promarkers and Sakura glitter gel pens, frilly borders are cut using another of my new MS punches, flowers are Prima and the yummy velvet ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and again, the sentiment was generated on my lap top. I hope you like :)

Don't forget to hop over to the DewDrop Craftz blog and take a look at the new challenge.

TFL

Two in one!

Challenges and card that is LOL I decided to combine challenges again as time is against me once more. I have weddings coming out of my ears at the mo, which is fab, but I also need to fill my card box as I've got about a dozen left to sell 8-) Every time I get in front of myself one of my shops pinches them lol

Anyway, I have a couple of cards to show. This one is for the DCM challenge, set by Jo, from last Friday which states "I would like this week to see cards with a chick, a bunny or both!Of course you may add anything else to your cards"
and The Secret Crafter's challenges which is STITCHING
As usual any project as long as there is stitching on your card faux or real - it's up to you!

I even used another of my own sketches :)) (which I will upload as soon as I have tidied it up)

The yellow striped paper is an off cut, the zig zag was punched using one of my new MS punches from New York, sparkly floral ribbon is from Michaels ($1 a roll!) and the flowers are a mix including Prima and Dunelm. The image is another beauty from Sally-Ann at Grab-a Doodle-Do which I coloured with Promarkers, the faux stitching was done with a Sakura metallic pen and the sentiment was printed.

Friday Sketchers

Challenge #45

Another card using an assortment of off cuts :) from Sassafras and K & Co, flower is Prima and the numbers were cut by hand using wooden templates. Other bits and bobs were on my desk.

Sketch and Stash

My new stash for the challenge on Sketch and Stash #7 is my lovely Anya stamp from Dies To Die For.

She is coloured with Promarkers and Sakura Stardust gel pens. The silver card, patterned paper is from my left overs and the striped paper is an old one from Sassafrass (before they dropped the lass!) LOL and the brads are Doodlebug.

Opinions will be greatly received. TFL

New challenge

It's new challenge day on the DewDrop Craftz blog so a big thank you to everyone who took part and congratulations to Hazel on winning the last challenge! This week is Sarah's turn to set the challenge and here is what she has come up with

'Anything but a card'
So.. we'd like to see all your creations that aren't a card..
You do not have to use anything from DewDrop Craftz.. but would be great to see them if you do..The winner of this fortnights challenge will win a selection of 6 x 6 papers..Entries: leave a link to your creation on this post and keep an eye out the 12th April for the winner..

I decided to make a gift bag and tag for my entry this week as I received my yummy stamp from Nikki the other day and it was definitely male orientated!

I sometimes struggle when I have to make 'male' gift bags if the male in question doesn't have a hobby or is too you to drink alcohol ;) I decided that this stamp could be used for males both young and old (as in relics, fossils etc LOL) I coloured my images with Promarkers and papers used are Baby Bee by Crate Paper and Urban Window by We R Memory Keepers.

The dinosaur is called Eric and if he looks familiar to you then that's probably because you have seen him on the blog of the very talented Sally-Ann from Grab-a-Doodle-Do He can be seen and purchased, along with Lilly and Cherry Cupcake from the DewDropCraftz shop Keep calling back as there will be more of Sally-Ann's stamps available soon.

Take a look at the blog and see what the other members of the DT have come up with :)

Swirls and waves!

Sketch #6 from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File and I think I'm just about caught up with these! I may just have to back track through them though just to make sure ;)

Not sure what the brown paper is but I edged it with my new Doily edge punch by Martha Stewart. The large flower is cut from a piece of Shabby Chic paper by Junkitz. I had to tuck the large flower behind the paper as it was a piece in my scrap box and those petals were on an edge and therefore missing! ;) The other paper flowers are Papermania with a Doodlebug Sugared brad in the centre. The swirl is from my flourish set by Rhonna Farrer.
My flaming lap top has been driving me mad of late as it didn't seem to want to do much (bit like the kids really LOL) and it turned out that I needed to download Service pack One.........what a palava, it has taken almost all afternoon to download and install and I haven't been able to do anything on it. I did spend a nice hour out in the sunshine though weeding a flower bed just outside the back door.

On Friday evening we went to see Simply Red at Sheffield Arena and they were brilliant, in Fact I think they were even better than when we saw them at the O2 Arena in December! I first saw them at Sheffield Arena in 1996 and have seen them a total of seven times :)

I hope you managed to enjoy some sunshine wherever you are. Take care and thanks for looking.

KB DCM

Tee hee.......it looks like a code for something!
The challenge is for the Daring Cardmakers last Friday which was

Cos I'm a woman!
This week it is me, Tracie, who will be setting the dare for you - and iI hope it is a nice easy one. Seeing as this weekend is Mothers Day in the UK, and I am doing the 600 mile round trip home to see my mummy, I want the focus of your cards to be the girls. It can be any style, any theme, and any recipient - as long as she is female.

The papers are all oddments again, the image is from a Whispers stamp which I bought about 4 years ago and have inked probably 2 or 3 times! I found the image in a drawer with some others so it must have been in there a while! The large butterfly was cut using one of my new Martha Stewart punches and the small one is using an X Cut punch, everything else was found on my desk!
I have a very busy day tomorrow and we are going to see Simply Red in concert tomorrow evening so it won't be too much longer before I'm in bed. I still have a bit of work to do though as I watched the Dancing on Ice final this evening as we taped it while we were away. I have to say that Ray Quinn definitely deserved to win in my opinion! My mum and dad are going to see the first night of the tour next week (sis bought them tickets for Christmas) and DD and I are so jealous. We went last year and it was fantastic to see them all live. We tried to get tickets this year and they only had them in the roof space! As you can't actually see anything from up there we didn't book :( Never mind..........it will be on telly at Christmas LOL

Saved the best...

......till last!

Just look what I got in the post yesterday :)

.....a fabby birthday from the wonderful Terrie Bailey, you can check out her gorgeousness here. The card can also be seen in all it's glory on the Patti Picklicious blog :) Kirsty left me a comment this morning and made my day. She said "oooh you got the first patti card - you is majorly uber famous now!" How good is that!

I really must go and sort tea now and get some more work done. I have done some this morning but I've been adding my cards to my blog since about 2.30 *oops* :)

Take care and TFL

My craft goodies

... bought in New York.I had been looking forward to shopping in Michaels since we first booked the holiday in New York and saved £70 from my birthday money to spend on craft goodies but I was so disappointed when we got there. The shelves were empty so there was a really poor supply of crafty goods, no papers at all, so most of the stuff I bought was ribbons at a dollar a roll! I managed to get a couple of punches (the only ones they had) but there was nothing new that we couldn't get over here.

I did manage to get the Doily punch (as well as some paper flowers and a couple of gorgeous Anya stamps) from Tracy at Dies To Die For though and what a fab service she gives. I ordered on Tuesday evening and my stuff arrived this morning. I will definitely be using them again.

My postie also brought me my new DT stamp from DewDrop Craftz. It is one of the new Sally-Ann Hancock designs and he is Eric the Dinosaur and he is just gorgeous! Take a look at the blog too as there is a prize on offer for the winner of the challenge :)

My last 'pressie' is the gift I received from my Secret Birthday Fairy (which was the same as a Secret Santa). I organised it as one of the celebrations to celebrate the 7th birthday of the Crafts By Carolyn I got card blanks and envelopes, lace, ribbons, paper flowers, die cuts and assorted tags all in greens and yellow. Who was a lucky girl then :)

An assortment

......of cards including a couple I made last week off my to do list.

This card is 8" x 8" and was for one of DH's collegues who is taking early retirement next month. The brief for this card had me a bit befuddled as I was told that 'he works for a rail company and is an avid collector of train sets, he collects stamps and has a silly sense of humour!' So....DH found the stamps, I found the Sooty and the train is Cuttlebug!!!
I love these images of the Flippin Men and Women. I don't have any women yet but I've had a few of these men for several months now and this is the first one I've used! I used the large X Cut oval to cut the aperture in the card and added the image to acetate before fixing it into the card. The wicket sentiment was part of the sheet and I just added the 'hill' saying, 50 and Quickutz stumps so it made for quite a quick card. The card was actually for BiL's birthday on Monday.

The patterned paper is again from Kirsty's freebies, I've had the image for years (it was stamped by a friend and I found it in a drawer!) and the card candy/jingle bells are from Craftwork Cards

Another Grab a Doodle Do download coloured with Promarkers.

More of Kirsty's paper! Image and sentiment as before but there's more deliciousness in my next post ;)).

ICS

Another fab little stamp from Clever cut (this one gets quite a bit of use too) The turquoise blue Bazzill Bling and the yellow striped paper are left over from previous projects and the sentiment stamp was amongst a load of goodies I got when I was a runner up in a card comp a couple of years ago. I think it's by Wendie Rhodes but I'm not 100% sure!

Sketch Saturday

and another quick challenge card from me, this time it's for the Sketch Saturday challenge.Another one of Sally-Ann's chicks which I've coloured with Promarkers again. Papers are from DCWV and K & Co and are all from my 'bit box'. Sentiment is a SeeDee stamp.

Friday Sketchers

Love this sketch too and the card also fits with the Stamp Something challenge which is In honor of the first day of Spring, we want you to "Think Spring" and create something that makes you feel or think of Spring time. You could use Spring colors, floral images, floral accents, anything you can think of. Let your imagination go wild!

Another Sally-Ann sketch from the same download coloured with Promarkers. I don't know what the striped paper is but I've had it forever. The zig zag border is one of Kirsty Wiseman's freebie papers, the blooms are Prima and the leaves are puched. Not sure where th ribbon is from either but I think it works well on this card.

Papertake Weekly +

Dawny's Sketch #11

Another of Dawny's fab sketches this week and one I shall definitely use again. When you have spare time take a look at Dawny's blog not only will her posts brighten your day but her work is fab too :)

Not sure what the paper is on this one but the image is another Sally-Ann download (just take a look at the blog candy she has on offer!) There are some new designs on there too so I would probably have to go shopping shortly :) The rub on used for the sentiment are Doodlebug and the brads are from my stash.

The plus part of the title is that the card also fits the challenge on the Secret Crafter blog which is....Favourite Colour:- As usual any creation but must be based on your favourite colour scheme Well it just so happens that my favourite colour is yellow (of which there are a few yellow cards on my blog!)

I'm back and challenging!

Another 10 days has passed in a blur since I last blogged, four of which were spent in New York (but more of that later ;)) The phone hasn't stopped, the orders are still coming in and I have appointments coming out of my ears, anyone would think we had been away for four weeks not just four days!
I'm still making cards for Kirsty and onto the last few now so am using them for the challenges too. So here we go. The first one is for Colour Create and the challenge colours this week are Navy, turquoise and lime
The image is a stamp from Clever Cuts (and one I use a lot for men's cards), the turquoise Bazzill Bling has been embossed with a Cuttlegug embossing folder and everything else is from my stash/left overs box.

DewDrop Craftz

A new challenge has been set by Adele on the new DewDrop Craftz blog

This challenge has been set by DT member Adele.. and is a 'Layer By Layer' challenge..
This can be interpreted in many ways including matting and layering and even decoupage..
So as long as you have layers on your card.. you can enter it in this challenge.
You do not have to use a DewDrop Craftz image although would love to see any of them if you do.
The winner chosen at random on the 29th March will win a selection of Zoomz and Flowers..

Take a look at the DT cards by Adele and Sarah, they are lovely. Here is my card

It hasn't appeared on the blog yet as I was slightly late with it (sorry girls)

Image is So Pretty from DewDropz Craftz shop coloured with Promarkers and paper pieced.

Papers are off cuts of K & Co

Tag is from Crafts By Carolyn

Ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis

Now it's your turn :)

Colour Create

This week's colours (red and green) might steer you towards Christmas which is fine as you will be able to tick another card off your Christmas list and that always feels good. For this week's extra option we would like you to add wings, but please remember that this is not compulsory. You could use animals and insects that have wings, but many of our well-loved characters also have little wings tucked away

I just can't bring myself to make Christmas cards at the mo so my card can be used for any occasion. The frog is from a download from one of my favourite people, Sally-Ann at Grab-a-Doodle-Do The dragonfly is a brad, the red felt ric rac is from Ribbon Oasis and the assorted papers and card are all off cuts.

Friday Sketchers

#43 and I am almost caught up!!
The pink backing paper has white flower outlines on it which haven't been picked up by the scanner, it's the reverse side of a green striped paper from Auntie Gertie's Garden and is really pretty! The small piece of checked paper is from Papermania Scrumptious pad. The image is again from Pink Petticoat and is coloured with Promarkers and the flowers are Primas. The sentiment is a rubon onto a chip board tag covered with the same AGG paper.

Challenge 18....

......on CBC is another card please the challenge you MUST USE SCALLOPS easy peasy!! I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday
The floral backing paper is from a sheet of perfumed card my mum bought at a craft fayre, the other two pieces of paper are from My Mind's Eye (I just love their papers), the flowers are Papermania and the leaves are punched. The stunning image is Vicky from Chris at Sketching Stamper I coloured her with Promarkers and added just the tiniest bit of glitter to her pony tail bands.
